I actually like when they dub over one of my favorite anime’s . It’s like watching it again fresh and new to me for the first time! Dub , dub? Why can’t we have both?
It really does 💯 The manga collection with the special editions and zero spin offs were both gruesome and highly underrated. Haven’t read those in years
Only idiots judge a dub by a simple 90 second trailer. That is a fact. You haven't heard anywhere near enough of the dub to judge. Several characters didn't even speak. Watch the entire dub, then judge it. Listening to a character speak for a few measly seconds isn't enough to make a judgememt. You have not heard how they do with the emotional moments and you have no right to call any of the performances bad yet.

That's the whole point of movie trailers and TV/Anime trailers.. Show out a small amount of it and see how people think about it. Personally it doesn't sound that great to me, voice actors sound weaker more or less (probably because I saw and watched the sub first xDDD) I'm still giving it a chance though because it sounds decent.
Here is my take on it- I Absolutely loved the Subbed version, & I'm gonna love the Dubbed version also ( finished 1st dub episode, can't wait for the next one). I was sad when I finished up the series, now I'm Super Hyped to be able to watch it again in dubbed. I wish people wouldn't complain about "subbed is better or dubbed is better". I'm just thankful we have 2 diff language versions to Enjoy. So lets do that! Enjoy!!
damn I miss watching this on toonami and now I have to watch it on my phone which is too little but when I watched on tv i missed alot of episodes and I had to catch up by watching online cause then I would always forget to record it before sunday and when I watched the episode where kurome dies at my aunts during new years i kinda cried since akame loved her sister so much she even killed her i hope it returns to toonami soon like kill la kill did so i would be able to record all episodes at first i tried to watch it but didn't cause i thought i wouldnt like it but when I watched the second ep i was so blown away of how great it was i wanted more edit: AGK was actually my first anime i ever loved
I love watching everything in dub since it's nice to listen to it in your own language but the generic voices and voices that don't fit the characters are too much in this dub. And they changed so many the meaning of so many lines in the dub. They even deleted Akame's "eliminate" and this is coming from someone who has watched everything in dub unless it was not available
I get the idea most people snubbing this dub have never heard a truely terrible dub. Gankutsuou was one of the worst dubs i've ever heard in my life. Couldn't get past 3 episodes. Every name is supposed to have a french inflection, and in practice they americanized them to the nth degree.
Sucks? Not at all lol I still love this show till date. Read the manga and special volumes back during the original run and it was wayyyyyyy darker the show. Tho dont let others opinions sway you from enjoying things you like :) p.s the sub was better lol
@Tom except that followed the manga mostly. Akame ga Kill derailed after episode 11. Unless they get the idea to adapt Hinawa ga Crush which is a direct sequel to the Akame ga Kill Manga, I doubt a second season will ever happen
The girl who said, "I am going to survive this hell no matter what happens", sounded so monotone. Why didn't Sentai just get Bang Zoom for this like with some of the other shows they did.
I just started watching this series, but I think I can weigh in on this. In that scene, Mine (Mein?) is observing the executions she and Tatsumi came across, and the point is essentially to show her rather cold determination. She's not trying to be emotive, she's trying to be deadpan or monotone to show how hardened and focused she is. So, it actually works for the scene when taken in context.
On some parts I liked the dub and I’m use to it and it fits perfectly for me cause I watch it on Toonami. BUT on some parts when Mine starts screaming there’s some lack and Akame cuts herself and she has the demon voice it’s godly awful. 1:04 is my fav part they look bada**.
My personal opinion with this dub. I love dubs, but I think some of the voice is kinda weak. I can let Tatsumi's voice slide because Tatsumi is kinda hard to portrayed. He is a bland character so at the end, the voice can still generic at best. Akame's voice is not bad, but they could make her voice more lighter. Leone..... She sound a bit too teenish. Najenda not bad. I got no problem with her voice. Bulat voice is fine as well. This is just a trailer, so I can't completely judge the dub officially. I think it might be an average dub.
So they didn't butcher the begging song at all it was actually left fully intact BUT OH MY GOD THE ENDING SONG IS RUINED It's not even the same song Just some weird short ass stupid shit that lets them fit into their 30 minute time slot -_- I thought the dub was okay so far. I Like akame's voice but leone's is too young. I convinced my mom/sister to watch this version plus it's dub so I can at least have a fresh experience. BUT THE ENDING SONG WHY :'(
I'm shocked it already came lol. The dubbing isnt bad at all, i prefer najenda voice dub than sub actually. Tatsumi voice is hard to get through though. Maybe its because i watch the abridge though cause he sounds like it....

I thought it was okay. I was playing Civ with a friend and we watched the first episode at the same time, I thought the voices were alright. I didn't really like Leone or Boss but they seemed to have hit their marks going. Akame sounds a bit old but it just gives space for her to open up later on. I've seen dubs end up much much much worse. Dont even remind me of the Gankutsuou dub D'x.

I have seen both the Dub and Sub,I don't think there is anything wrong with the Dub I thought the voice actors were great,some of the lines are bit different,most of them are the same just different wording Some of lines I think sound better in English In ep 15 when Lubbock sees Leone and Chelsea in Bikinis he says he wants to get into their breasts in sing the national Anthem WTF lol,but in the dub he says he wants to touch their breasts and squeeze them. Leone tells Lubbock she knows he is that kinda person,in the dub she says she knew what he would say and calls him a dumbass which I thought was funnier I also think that Scene were Esdeath is seducing Tatsumi is better in English
+James M Well, this isn't the first time Christine Austen has voiced an extremely powerful warrior woman who frequently kills with a smile on her face, though Esdeath's isn't exactly faint *wink wink*.
Akame Ga Kill is one of the few anime where the English dub is worth watching.

I'm used to the Japanese auido now so to me I feel like the dun dosent fit the characters. But I think I'll give it a shot and see what happens
