I'm going to be honest...while I do appreciate the analysis you guys did here there's just one problem...it was way too obvious. Anyone who's paying attention to previous videos by you guys knows how you view these characters and it was too obvious to see that this fight would result in the victory of PloObiTi. As hard as you guys worked on this, you never should've done this in the first place. Scrapping it would've been the better choice, as you could've focused on other projects that would've been more surprising and interesting. The overly long wait just diminishes the hype and the predictable result keeps you from being surprised by the results. You guys worked hard on this I know, but it was really a wasted effort to an obvious conclusion. It was a very detailed and informative...but it was too obvious to see where this was going. It was alright...but ultimately nothing more.

Personally I feel they can make whatever videos they want, it's their time and their channels after all. Knowing which team the forcecast would likely determine to be the victor doesn't diminish the quality of their work for me personally and I'd feel confident saying for many other viewers too.

    • @Reti4
      @Reti4 Před 5 lety +6

@Shadow Warrior Reti4 - No arguments from me at all. When the others suggested the idea we struggled to find a match up of the best of the best that didn't end in one side stomping the other. These particular characters are kind of in a league of their own that way, with everyone being a significant step below or above them, particularly in a 3vs3 context.
This was the closest combo we could think of, and to be fair it's only really clear if you are coming to it with previous experience with our PlObiTi analyses. The opposite team is definitely the more highly regarded by the average fan I think.
Ultimately, every video is someone's first. And I think the analysis holds up by itself quite well.

It still bugs me that Mace Windu brought Kit Fisto to fight a SINGLE opponent in Palpatine

    • @geoffreyedgson7875
      @geoffreyedgson7875 Před 2 lety +22

Not sure if you'll read this after 1 year, but if somebody else does have a look:
Kit was available, and Shaak Ti was a better proven defensive strategist. When Anakin brought news about Palpatine to Mace Windu, the latter was already on his way to confront Palpatine ("We're going to ensure the Chancellor returns emergency powers back to the Senate.") In that moment, 1/3 or 1/2 the Jedi Council was off of Coruscant, he didn't many many to chose from and deliberately left Anakin behind (had Anakin watched Palpatine cut down other Jedi in front of him, he'd likely have a different reaction).
Plo Koon, Kenobi, Yoda, Ki-Adi-Mundi and Stass Alle, were all on separate planets. I'm not sure where or how Eeth Koth or Coleman Kcaj died, but WIndu did have half the Jedi Council members still on Coruscant behind him when he walked up to Darth Sidious. Fisto even expressed how he missed Kenobi or Yoda were with them, while Tiin and Kolar were confident they would be too much for any Sith. Quite....symbolically given who died in which order.
Also, Fisto, Saesee Tiin and Agen Kolar had done successful strike-missions with Windu in the past, especially to dismantle a Bounty Hunter Guild aiming for Jedi contracts, only.
Windu took the ones he was the most familiar with, and could rely on stronger than the others. Shaak Ti would have been a better partner, but she was also a more proven strategist and large-scale leader than Tiin, Kolar or Fisto, so it's sensible Windu left her in-charge of the Temple if his mission failed. Problematically, Windu didn't register how Palpatine also controlled the Clone Army, nor orchestrated the Naboo Crisis and the War itself.

Better late than never. At least you all put in your best effort into this and made it worth all our while. It's also good to hear the reasons behind all of your delays in terms of creating content. I understand that you guys are in the group where you aren't as active on CZcams as others and try to put in the best you can do in your videos rather than just putting up videos for the sake of it. It's what I like about you guys; you go at your own pace.
I would first like to say that I love the quotes you've provided in the beginning and scattered throughout the video. The "fortune cookie" pieces of wisdom as Filoni liked to call it when referring to the lines at the start of TCW episodes.
I actually didn't fully realize that due to the massive cranium, Cereans would have chronic back and head illnesses. It was not something that I've thought of. Well done on making note of that.
The TFU footage is very surprising as I've never seen that before. Mostly because I have the Wii version of that game. Still that's impressive. I've never seen or heard of those with lekku do that. Having recently gained better respect for her accomplishments and her character, I'm looking forward to adding her action figure to my collection, both in Jedi robes and her...jungle...outfit. I particularly love how Reti always emphasizes Shaak Ti's feat of decapitating a magnaguard " _with_ _her_ _knee_ ". It's so hilarious. 41:39 "And Shaak Ti is the leaf on the wind that dances around your cut." I can't help but think "I'm a leaf on the wind! Watch how I soar! I'M A LEAF ON THE WIND!"
If you are ever going to do these team match-ups again, I propose the Solo children (Padawan level) vs. either Padawan Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka or ESB Luke, Rey, and Kylo Ren. I'm reading post-ROTJ books and have reached the New Jedi Order series, and I would like to see more match-ups with the Solo children.

Cade gets dismissed pretty quickly if we're taking all three at their primes. Knightfall Anakin/Vader holds out for a while and easily defeats Cade, but Dark Empire and later versions of Luke will eventually take his father down.
I think ROTS Kenobi's got this one. NJO Battlemaster Katarn has greater versatility as a Force user and is a combatant with a broad tool set, but Obi-Wan has shown he can contend with and beat opponents that have thrown the kitchen sink at him (Durge, Jango Fett, Cad Bane) and his overall showings as a swordsman and Force user place him slightly higher. Still, Kyle puts up a good fight.
Yoda stomps, end of. Traya is nowhere near the level of a Force demigod like Sidious and requires substantial prep time to pull off her major feats. As a schemer and chessmaster, the Lord of Betrayal has the advantage but in a head-to-head duel she's got no chance.
Now this is interesting. I'm leaning Lumiya overall, that whip is just hard to deal with without specialized application of Jar'kai or knowledge of how her weapon works. But Shaak is a better combative Force user, more agile and is not a stranger to out of the box weaponry like electrostaves or (presumably) Maris Brood's guard shotos. In a hand to hand fight Ti is competitive but I favor the Dark Lady between her cybernetics and knowledge of various martial arts.
Secura by the time she reached Master definitely holds her own as a lightsaber duelist, she's quite underrated. That said, Talon's got a wider variety of Force powers and has contended with more dangerous people than Aayla so I say she wins a majority.
This really comes down to which version of Sidious we're talking about. ROTS Sidious versus Reborn Krayt is very tricky and could go either way, but Dark Empire Palpatine would win with moderate effort.
Assuming Legends, Ventress. Bulq is a slightly better swordsman but Asajj's Makashi/Niman hybrid and weaponry gives her more tactical options than a savage Juyo whirlwind like Sora, and she is also a more versatile and balanced Force user that has contended with better opponents and survived. Bulq still poses a decent shot at winning, but I feel like Ventress holds most of the cards here.
Meetra cancels out Nihilus' Force Hunger, and Revan can incapacitate Sion with some effort (if not outright disintegrate him with Force lightning). Together this fight should be over pretty quickly.

For the most part I agree with the verdict, but I felt Kit Fisto was not only underestimated but also the key to winning this fight. His speed is by far the greatest, and I don’t see why he requires water to use his more advanced techniques, considering the orb is just a ball of kinetic energy being launched under water, and the beam is just focused telekinetic energy. It’s really no different than Satele Shan’s hadouken. Additionally, his fast twitch force abilities are extremely precise even when laced in with his furious combos. Just look what he did to Grievous. Given Anakin’s football player mentality, I can see him directing Kit to charge up an orb while he and Mundi rush the others. Anakin breaks off while Kit launches his massive attack, dividing the enemy team. It’s then that Anakin would rush the still shaken Kenobi again forcing him into a purely defensive state, while Mundi holds off Shaak Ti. Kit would swoop in and overwhelm Plo utterly. Given Plo Kuun’s age, I feel that Kit Fisto would be the paper to his rock, considering we’re pitting the fastest fighter against the slowest. I don’t feel that he’d hold up long against Kit’s hurricane under those circumstances. While this is happening, Anakin could then switch off with an Ataru leap and blast Shaak Ti with a colossal force push opening her up to Mundi and Kit’s double team. Obi might be able to save one, but not both, and he’s just not on his game when forced to chase after someone. He’d be so caught up in waiting for Anakin’s next move to exploit, that he’d be thrown off by the chosen one’s momentary switch. From there it’d be a 3 on 1 with team Anakin wearing Kenobi down. This is the problem with excessive focus on defence, they just lack lightning edge and decisive improvising.
Personally I feel team Anakin would do better with Rahm Kota on their side, rather than Mundi, but I suppose Mundi would be to able to utilize his team member’s raw power quite nicely.

Just gonna throw my two cents in
PloWanTi's victory really hinges on whoever Anakin squares up to, if he takes on Kenobi then his team is thoroughly screwed because I doubt that Fisto or Mundi have any chance in a 1v1 with Ti, I think Fisto can take Plo 6/10 times (AKA barely) and Mundi would probably stalemate Plo maybe with a slight disadvantage, but nobody on Anakin's team but Anakin has a shot against Ti. If Anakin takes on Ti he'll smash her harder than Grievous ever could, and despite the whole Magnaguard feat everyone loves to throw about I refuse to believe that she's even close to Kenobi in terms of durability, she only really outclasses him when it comes to sheer endurance opposed to actually tanking hits. Plo's the weak link for his team because I just can't see him performing nearly as well as the others in a duel, if Anakin targets him he'd require help in order to not get demolished immediately by the inarguably superior Chosen One. Going back to Anakin VS Ti though, I don't see her really having a chance against him and the best she could do is just hold him off for as long as possible, but unlike Kenobi she couldn't hope to wear him out even despite the fact that the fight would drag on for a stupid amount of time. Her only real chance is Kenobi taking Mundi out (which is a definite possibility) or Fisto somehow fucking up his fight with Plo. (something I have a harder time seeing)
If Mundi gets taken out then Fisto'll fall in short order, by then however I wouldn't be surprised if Ti's been reduced to a chopped up mess because Anakin finally caught her. From there I don't see Anakin overpowering Kenobi and Plo together, though he may be able to take Plo out who knows.
The other possibility here is that, like I thought, Fisto takes Plo out and moves on to 2v1 Kenobi with his big-brain buddy. I do however believe that Kenobi would be able to hold off both Fisto and Mundi almost indefinitely though, so the fight definitely wouldn't be settled there.
Rather, it would really come to it's final act when Anakin deals with Ti and then together with his team takes on a lone Kenobi who gets his shit pushed in by all three of them. (That being said however, I wouldn't be surprised if one of his counters slipped through either Fisto or Mundi's guard [Hell, he might even beat them both for all it matters] a worn out Anakin on his own would be able to take an equally worn out Kenobi at this point) and it was a combination of Kit/Mundi and Anakin finally putting Kenobi down.
That's really the best case scenario for KiAniKit, another one that'd end with them winning is an Anakin VS Koon matchup because I feel that Kit could at least hold Kenobi up for some time, as Anakin would put the Kel'dor down faster than he would Ti. However, in this matchup Mundi would be forced to take on Ti who would trash him, and at this point it'd come down to Anakin picking either Kenobi or Ti to focus on.
The only way KiAniKit would walk away alive at this point would be for Anakin to engage Ti and hope Fisto'd survive against Kenobi long enough for him to take her out, something I think Fisto would struggle with but overall succeed, this time around however I wouldn't be surprised if Anakin were to take a few noticeable shots from Ti, I still firmly believe he'd be able to put her down.
Whether Fisto survives Kenobi or not is very important for the last parts of this duel as it'll really determine which team wins, if Kenobi puts Fisto down with a counter without sustaining any wounds I think he'd be able to take Anakin (this is assuming Anakin hasn't flipped the rape switch from Ti poking him a few times) and PloWanTi'd walk away the winners.
However, if Fisto at least manages to put a noticeable hit on Kenobi before going down or is still alive by the time Anakin finishes Ti I think it's out of the question wins.
Now just to beat any repliers to it, if Anakin gets triggered by a combination of Mundi's death and Shaak Ti's refusal to die then it doesn't really matter what condition Kenobi's in, an enraged Skywalker would steamroll him with or without Kit's help. (Also, Kit's death at the hands of Kenobi would help push him over the edge too)
I think the scenario presented at the end of the video's a little flawed because it only takes a scenario where Anakin targets Kenobi into question, and Fisto's death in the summary makes it sound like Anakin sat back and lit up a deathstick as he watched the Nautolan get bisected before moving in to avenge him. I think the fight shown is a perfect representation of what would happen if Anakin were to go after Kenobi as Obi-Wan would inarguably be able to hold out against Anakin as his teamnates cut down most of KiAniKit, I feel that the prerequisites of this scenario are too contrived to make it your go-to example.
I will admit that the Koon VS Fisto fight is very debatable as it could honestly go either way, I think that that doesn't matter in the end because I doubt either would kill the other before someone on either side (Ti or Mundi to be specific) to kick the bucket first, changing who's fighting who at that point.
I think Ti'd take down Fisto but I doubt it'd be quick enough to beat Anakin stomping Koon though, so whoever between Mundi and Fisto is unlucky enough to fight her doesn't matter.
    >tl;dr, if Anakin picks anyone other than Kenobi to target first KiAniKit's chances of victory increase exponentially and the example shown in the video is too unlikely/has too many requirements to make it discussion worthy as its very obvious what would happen.

    • @vincentescolano
      @vincentescolano Před 4 lety +1

Shaak Ti is definitely more powerful than Kit Fisto and Ki Adi Mundi. Anakin is more tricky. During the fall of the Jedi temple in canon Anakin only asks the temple guard where Shaak Ti is before beginning the attack on the temple. When he did kill Shaak Ti it was in a surprise attack while she was meditating. Anakin chose to not go head to head wanting to play it safe. Judging by Anakin's extreme arrogance and mindset during operation nightfall the fact he was deliberating Shaak Ti's presence as a threat ultimately deciding to kill her much like Sora Bulq killed Oppo Rancisis preferring not to go head to head is very telling of Shaak Ti's reputation and how powerful Anakin knew her to be, this doesn't mean she is more powerful than Anakin at that point but it does say something about her overall power and skill which was even recognized by Anakin in that deranged state. In legends continuity Shaak Ti and Anakin meet and the fight must have been something of an impasse because after Shaak Ti attempted to fight back the clone forces and even had time to help some Jedi escape. If she was overpowered by Anakin she would have been killed like the other Jedi or even like Count Dooku was and wouldn't have had the ability or time to do anything but flee right after knowing it was a lost cause right then. Even if Anakin's power would be to much for Shaak Ti on her own Plo Koon and Obi Wan would be able to tip the fight in the advantage of the Shaak Ti, Plo Koon, and Obi Wan Kenobi team.

Rob George Indeed, Caedus has vibroblades and poisoned darts, while Cade has a double barrelled blaster, though lightsaber and Force abilities would be their bread and butter. Also, Worth noticing that Caedus literally gave Tenel Ka's grandmother a stroke by probing her mind, while Cade has Dark Transfer both cure and offense.
And normies get all wet over Crylo Ren freezing a blaster and and attempting to mind probe someone to no effect........Kinda makes me wish for an April Fool VS lol

Bruh. Anakin seen in CW and RoTS never reached his potential. Falling to the dark side alone put him above almost all the other Jedi in the order, and his potential would allow him to casually defeat the likes of Yoda and Sidious with no effort if he ever fully realized it.

While I appreciate the considerable amount of work put in, I cannot help but recall that Team 1 is heavily favoured by you three in both versus matchups and Forcecasts/Fanalysis (many times unfairly imo). In contrast, both Anakin and Kit are lowballed considerably, especially in the case of the latter (losing almost all matchups, especially to featless Oppo Rancisis is beyond presumptious to me).
I agree with Greysentinel365 in saying that Shaak is way out of her league in sabers, and shouldn't last against swordsmen almost a tier ahead of her. For reasons I will not repeat, having already stated them in the teaser video, I believe Kit's unsuitability in a 1v1 duel is always overstated by you all, especially when the Ventress duel is brought up. Even if Form 1 disadvantages are brought to the fore (which should not be the case since this is a group fight), none of the combatants in Team 1 possess the offensive skill to cripple him significantly, with Plo probably coming closest. Should Anakin be unhindered, which would likely be the case, I don't see anyone bar Kenobi standing up to his offensive dervish for a protracted period, and even he would not be able to beat his former apprentice in an unhindered duel in my eyes. Furthermore, group fights have almost innumerable combinations and set pieces (pardon the sports reference) in play, making it almost impossible to gauge tactical and technical plans and adaptations (especially the latter) during the fight, leaving the result very ambiguous and far beyond an assured conclusion. I'm stealing that last bit from ShootingNova in the forums but I really feel I really have to bring that up.
All that being said, it must have been really taxing compiling and researching all that content, and credit to all three of you for that. In particular, Mundi's style being compared with Qui-Gon was most interesting, and something I am currently inclined to agree with. While I frequently disagree with the three of your analyses in many of your videos, not least this one, matchups are often a matter of opinion and it would be a much better world if everyone respected each other's viewpoints and engaged in discourse civilly. Thanks again for this matchup and hope to see more versus videos soon.

    • @cincameron
      @cincameron Před 5 lety +3

@RadioactiveHaggis Shaak Ti being bellow Cin is pretty downplay considering she was the one put in charge of the temple's defenses, and when she was assumed dead, Drallig took the reigns,
Galen was not winning the fight against Ti until the very end where she leaped into his blade for what was implied to be an intentional double suicide. And going into the later sections of the novel, it is further supported that Shaak wanted it to end that way, but failed.
Kenobi held RoTS era Ti at a higher level than himself in any case, and believed that she, Anakin and Mace would all be more than capable of destroying the lord of the Sith (knowing him full well to at least be superior to Dooku).
Also, Galen's ONLY noted boost after reaching his Prime was the physical enhancements he got, and he also defeated Vader after what was described to be a fairly even contest, so for Ti to have held a strong advantage over Galen in the first place speaks volumes. I suggest rereading both versions of the fight if you honestly suggest Galen to have handily won.

    @dazdavis7896 Před 2 lety +3

Lmao, man, I’m so tired of all you versus dudes always undercutting and underestimating Anakin. Not necessarily underestimating his power/strength, but his tactical skill and his mindset. This would not BE the Anakin from Mustafar, he only “lost” on Mustafar because of his own mistake at the very end after completely dominating Obi-Wan the entire time. Lucas literally said himself it was a complete fluke that Obi-Wan “won” , what don’t you understand about this? It was NOT because of Obi-Wan’s “impenetrable defense” , Anakin broke right through his guard multiple times. He could’ve killed him more than once. But chose not to, making the same mistake of almost every other newly anointed Sith Lord drunk with power, the same mistake maul made against him…. But like I said, this wouldn’t BE Mustafar Anakin, as in out of his head Anakin. This would be the Anakin that slaughtered Dooku. Anakin with a clear head is literally unstoppable. He’s defeated Obi-Wan AND Kit at the same time before. He’d overtake Obi-Wan any other day of the week BUT the day of the Mustafar battle. This isn’t arguable it’s fact. Established lore. Anakin’s team would win solely because of him being too much to handle for any of them. Period. You all always love to talk about him being “lightsaber oriented to a fault” which in itself couldn’t BE more false. But even so, even IF that were true, it still wouldn’t matter lmao. Anakin/Vader’s assumed to be thee greatest swordmaster in Star Wars so that really wouldn’t matter. If it’s the best tool in his kit, why tf would he NOT heavily rely on it??? Like I said, he’s so much greater than what any of you like to portray……. And you also undercut Plo Koon sometimes too. I’ve seen that before as well. He’s a lot higher tier than you say, he’s on the same level as Mace and Obi-Wan. Not quite Anakin or Yoda, but not far under them either. Oh, and btw Obi-Wan did NOT overpower or break Anakin in ROTS. He threw everything he had into that force push and Anakin stuck his hand up and deflected it, basically having to stop/catch his momentum first then drive it back at him, which is exactly what happened. Anakin’s the one who broke Kenobi’s barrier there bud. And one more thing, Anakin’s skill set is FAR from lacking. Lmao, are you serious, go look at the list of force powers on wookiepedia. Literally the majority of them either say Anakin Skywalker or Darth Vader “was a master of this ability” , like a shit ton of them. He knew what he was doing, he just emphasizes his greatest strengths FIRST. His swordsmanship and his immense depth of strength in the force. Heavy telekinetic blasts and dominating lightsaber combat. It doesn’t MEAN he didn’t know anything else.

Anakin as a tier 9 was a complete equal of Kenobi when kenobi didn’t even fight to kill. When Kenobi gathered the mental strength to strike him down he easily baited him to mess up Anakins timing and cut him to pieces.
Kenobi disarmed Anakin but hesitated to strike him down, as pointed out by Anakin himself in the novelisation.

Lucas himself said clear as day it was a blatant fluke; that Vader should’ve would’ve & could’ve smoked Obi-Wan on Mustafar…. Said he would’ve beaten Sidious right afterward had he just taken his time and dispatched Kenobi. Where do you think the video game adaption GETS all of this from??? He was originally supposed to kill Windu. Not Palpatine. Play the game. It’s based of Lucas’ unedited original screenplay. This literally isn’t debatable. At all. Stop trying. What the man who WROTE IT tells us trumps YOUR irrelevant opinion. Period... Vader dominated Kenobi the entire fight. WATCH the damn film. He fucked up at the very end and made the same mistake that almost EVERY newly anointed Sith Lord makes. Like this really isn’t that hard to understand.. That is dark side anakin. He trashed kenobi at the start of the fight in the novel until kenobi let go and effectively equalled him. After letting go of his attachment for ani he defeated him.
It doesn’t matter what Lucas said as kenobi and Anakin have been described as perfect equals on MF hundreds of times. Your Anakin wank won’t save you.

Years of fighting side-by-side left these warriors evenly matched, and their exhausting duel crossed the fiery landscape of a Mustafar refinery.
The novel also makes it abundantly clear that as Jedi, Anakin and Kenobi are in constant competition:
Whether Obi-Wan's legendary cleverness might beat Anakin's raw power, straight up, no rules, is the subject of schoolyard fistfights, creche-pool wriggle-matches, and pod-chamber stinkwars across the Republic. These struggles always end, somehow, with the combatants on both sides admitting that it doesn't matter.
Anakin and Obi-Wan would never fight each other.
Anakin also never learned the mental side of being a 9, thus he wasn’t hindered, he was in character:
"Obi-Wan is at a level 8, which is where Anakin starts. But Anakin jumps to level 9 -- and the difference between 8 and 9 is enormous. A Jedi can get to level 9, but that's the difference between light and dark. The duel actually gives you quite an idea about these characters, because Anakin has learned the fighting, he's enormously talented -- but he hasn't learned the mental side of it."
Obi wan manages to equal Anakin due to letting go of his failures and later on his attachment of anakin. Before that he got trashed, after he let go he could stalemate and win.

Obi Wan not wanting to kill ani:
"But that’s not really true, Obi-Wan thought as he ducked and wove and parried. Both he and Anakin felt the anguish of their need to kill the other. But Anakin had turned to the dark side, and despair and pain strengthened the dark side. It gave him an advantage Obi-Wan could not match. Unless he let go of his own despair and let the living Force move him - the Force that bound all living things together, even Obi-Wan and this new, deadly, evil Anakin.
      (...)
      Obi-Wan couldn’t do it."
Ani grew stronger during the duel as he was feeding of kenobis pain:
"The words stabbed at Obi-Wan, even though he knew that Anakin was speaking out of his own pain. He felt the dark side grow stronger, feeding on his despair. And then, as Anakin came close enough to swing his lightsaber once more, the Jedi in Obi-Wan rose up and at last he did the thing he hadn’t thought he could do."

Obi Wan defeats ani when he lets go of his attachment:
“From the Jedi point of view!” Anakin retorted. “From my point of view, the Jedi are evil.”
The words stabbed at Obi-Wan, even though he knew that Anakin was speaking out of his own pain. He felt the dark side grow stronger, feeding on his despair. And then, as Anakin came close enough to swing his lightsaber once more, the Jedi in Obi-Wan rose up and at last he did the thing he hadn’t thought he could do.
He let go. Calm, centered, free - for the moment - of sorrow and despair, resting in the living Force as he had been trained to do, Obi-Wan Kenobi looked at his former friend and student, and did the unexpected. He made a soaring leap into the air and landed on the high bank of the lava river.
“It’s over, Anakin,” he said, looking down. “I have the high ground. Don’t try it.”
“You underestimate the power of the dark side!” Anakin shot back, and with the last word, he jumped.
And Obi-Wan’s lightsaber moved, slicing through Anakin’s knees and then coming up to take his remaining hand. Anakin’s lightsaber fell at Obi-Wan’s feet. What was left of Anakin fell on the burning black sand almost at the edge of the lava.”
Obi Wan is not emotional, while Anakin is, kenobi as his teacher knows anakins weaknesses:
"The duel will explain how Obi-Wan is able to defeat his protege, even though Anakin has been established as the most powerful Jedi who ever lived. Obi-Wan taught Anakin and Anakin has gone past him. But when you get to that duel, it's emotional. That's where the mistake will be made. And if you know the characters, you know Obi-Wan isn't going to get emotional and he doesn't make mistakes." -Gillard
Aanakin is a 9 because of the dark side, as a normal jedi is is an 8 along side kenobi:
"Hayden in this film has moved up, to um, a level nine. He's gone past Obi -- and the difference between a level eight and a level nine really is the dark side. You have to go through each level, in order to attain the next level. If you do it too quick, you're gonna get in trouble; so that's how I work on his, y'know, his downfall is gonna be aggression."
Kenobi beat Anakin because he is more controlled and anakin is too agressive, kenobi is more expericanced:
"and his downfall is gonna be aggression. Obi is also aggressive, but Obi has gone through all the levels, taken the time, learned everything he needs to learn. That's gonna give him an edge. Y'know, Hayden, ah, Anakin is gonna be more powerful, but Obi's gonna be more controlled."
Evidance of obi not wanting to harm Anakin:
"And for Obi, even though he’s been sent there to kill him, he doesn’t want to do that. This is his boy; he loves him. I saw Obi just trying to absorb it long enough for Anakin to calm down.” Gillard
Obi and Ani match each other perfectly, however Obi does not want to kill:
"You know, they'd matched each other's moves toe-to-toe. The edge is that Obi-Wan doesn't really want to kill Anakin. So I treated that fight like um, fighting with your girlfriend -- that, you can't hit her, but you, you're gonna have to suffer the onslaught for as long as it comes. So that's how I kind of got around it. And then um, in the end, Anakin does make some mistakes. He gets too angry, and makes a mistake, and Obi doesn't make mistakes."
"I think that’s why [the actors] enjoy it the most, because it does give them something to do. It is very similar to dialogue and once they understand - in particular the big fight at the end with Ewan and Hayden - one has taught the other. I wrote that like a husband and wife fight. She’s attacking him, and he doesn’t really want to hurt her. He’s just got to absorb it for as long as he can. They both understood that."
Ani lost because he made a mistake, Kenobi baited him into a parry:
"So that's how I kind of got around it. And then um, in the end, Anakin does make some mistakes. He gets too angry, and makes a mistake, and Obi doesn't make mistakes."
      Anakin can´t control his emotions:
“Obi Wan comes out with a better hand, however I think that is a result or a derivative of Anakins emotions and not being able to focus them and control then which is the root of Anakins inabilities.”
Kenobi exploits his knowlage of Anakin and baits him, Anakin is too slow:
“Anakin snarled a curse as he realized he’d been suckered, and leapt off his droid at Obi-Wan’s back- Half a second too slow. Obi-Wan’s whirl to parry didn’t meet Anakin’s blade. It met his knee. Then his other knee. And while Anakin was still in the air, burned-off lower legs only starting their topple down the cliff, Obi-Wan’s recovery to guard brought his blade through Anakin’s left arm above the elbow."

Maul blitzes unless Nihl can leverage his superior Force powers. Still favor Maul for the win mostly due to Nihl's limitations as a duelist.
Ventress stomps. Sing is good but simply outclassed against someone who competes with Council Master-level opponents regularly.
