- This is the third course in the Google Cybersecurity Certificate. In this course, you will explore how networks connect multiple devices and allow them to communicate. You'll start with the fundamentals of modern networking operations and protocols. For example, you'll learn about the Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) model and how network hardware, like routers and modems, allow your computer to send and receive information on the Internet. Then, you'll learn about network security. Organizations often store and send valuable information on their networks, so networks are common targets of cyber attacks. By the end of this course, you'll be able to recognize network-level vulnerabilities, and explain how to secure a network using firewalls, system hardening, and virtual private networks.

Just completed my Google IT support professional certificate as a way to get my foot into the door of IT. I’m in healthcare so transitioning is no joke lol. Now just started the new Google cyber security program. Cyber security engineer is my end goal. Let’s go!
You got this! Also dipping into cybersecurity ✨
@@rai55 let’s get it! Best wishes
@@phil7314 💯
@@rai55 me too! i'd love to be a pentester.
@@olatunjigraphics8922 You can do it, step by step! ✨
I learned networking in 2002. It has changed so much since then. I’m so glad I’m having the opportunity to return to the IT industry. I greatly appreciate your free course, which cost me thousands 20 years ago and was not as well designed as yours. A million thanks.
You're welcome, and thanks for the positive feedback!
Good luck. I'm in a similar journey getting back to the IT industry after a long hiatus because of circumstances. I agree that a lot has changed but the foundations haven't changed much and the amount of free information that you can get is phenomenal. You just need to put in the hard work.
I am student of finance and account but i am loving the cyber security program more than my degree. I am currently in the very network course and i think its most important topic. I am so loving this course. Thank you Google for giving opportunity for all over the world to learn collectively. 🎉
I've listened to this video multiple times and I still learn more and more! Thanks for igniting passion Chris. I get learn so much from you. I feel I am more closer to my career in Cybersecurity!
3rd Cybersecurity video drop in several days 😎 THANK YOU 💐
And many more to come!
I am learning these courses from coursera and completing the assignments as well. getting a very good understanding from the explanations. Thank you Google for making such an effort to transform our careers to a better technologies that are future ready.
Many Many Thanks. Regular Upload Will Be A Great Help To Keep Connected.
I am joining the course and will start a new career in cybersecurity in Canada. Thank you Google for this opportunity.
مرحبا اسماعيل ممكن اتواصل معك بخصوص فرص العمل في ميدان السايبر سكيورتي
Sir, you truly disserve a million thanks for such good narration about the network fundamentals. even i have hiatus back to IT after a decade and finding it so easy after listening to you. If it happens to perceive same course those days it was so expensive. wishing many more articles like this related to CyberSecurity. May God Bless You and Your associates.
It is worth it. I just completed the Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate today 5th June 2023. Although, I spend an average of 12 hours every day for 30 days. I enrolled on 05th May 2023.
I started the program without any background order python basic, both today, I can use Linux, Suricata, SQL, Python, and Splunk tools. It helped me to develop security mindset. I am really happy. Mind YOU, IT ALSO GIVES 30% discount for CompTIA certification.
Next two weeks will be preparation for interviews and elevation pitch is next.
I am sure I will be in the first 10 CANDIDATES to complete it today. That is if there is people are also crazy marathon learners like me.
I penned down every word from the videos, made note from the reading and worked all the lab activities. My notebook is about 600 PAGES. I just wanted it to sink into my brain and i call recall them unconsciously. It was a great moment for me especially someone who is new to cybersecurity. During this month, i spent 318 hours learning cybersecurity, checking your reference resources and caught extra bit completion certificate from Cyberprotect and DoD unclassified training.
It is time to go and complete my IT SUPPORT Professional Certificate that I stopped at course 2 to enable me complete Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate.
I can assure that your life will change if you take the courses lie your life depend on it. Use the extra suggestion resources. The more you expose yourself to cybersecurity resources the more it becomes easier for you. Increase exposure to those materials is more like you are training your brain repeatedly.
It is difficult, especially, if one is new to tech. But it is doable
You a speedrunner, and i respect your dedication
Are you planning to take the Data Analytics course too...???
What about eJPT or OSCP??
@@supercop5 Thanks bro!
@@mayavik1034 for the Data analyst, I will do that but not now. CompTIA security + is my target.
I know its been 7 months, but what you able to get a cybersecurity or IT role?
I am still a baby in Cybersecurity. It's a great pleasure to have access to this opportunity. Many thanks to Google. Hopefully, I will also be able to become Guru in it soon too.
Hats off to you. I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciate your presentation.
Thank you kindly!
Thank you I hope one day I will work with you guys Google, since I’m IT support Engineer
This is my favorite module by far! 😊👍
Dude you did great I’m so excited about this
Chris, fabulous beard and mustache!
And from what I’m reading in the comments, I’m in for another great series of videos. I definitely need all the review I can get on networking, subnetting and binary math.
Looking forward to it!
Thank you very much sir.
I’m currently in this course rn
Yes good teaching on protocols

Gracias !!!!
Best pic, we appreciate this video! 💗
Glad you like it!
Is the CZcams course one and the same with the coursera course? Or would one still have to take the coursera course once I finish this series?
Yes it’s the same without the quizzes and additional reading and exercises
love it ❤
THANK YOU!
Thank you for watching! ❤️
Good
Hi everyone how can take google cyber security’s exam I mean for this course there’s is any exam for this course or it is exam free & how much the exam cost etc
Just started Cybersecurity
Hopefully this help
This message will self destruct
That's one Mustache!!!
👨🏻
I cant stop thinking they are all reading something instead of explaining from knowledge. Even tho, it's an amazing introduction to the career path
The networking module of the cyber security specialization from coursera is 12 hours long. Is this a summary of this section or a complete compressed videos?
It is 12 hours because it involves sections that you have to read and exercises you have to do. The videos are interspersed with the reading sections, so no, the videos are not a compression.
Hey, which Cyber security course is that?
@@liquiditypapi5827 the Google cyber security professional certificate course offered by Coursera.
I am done with the 8 videos so how do I get the certificate. It directs me to Coursera and all I see is a series of the same videos. What do I do
Once a Googler, always a Googler.
Working through the Coursera certificate currently. Hoping to be in this Field by end of next year. If God wills
Are these videos the same as the videos in Coursera?
Yes I’m currently taking the course but they have more info and there have mini quizzes during the videos
@@Yahboyvegeta_what's the name of the course on Coursera?
Sir please inform if anyone not good in maths or not from science background so can they persue cyber security as a career?
Am not him but definitely you can!
@@amen3545 Are you sure?
You don't need much math, subnetting involves basic math. That's it.
@@mayavik1034 thanks for the information 👍
please help, Sir iam a BCA Cybersecurity final year student, last two years of my collage i learned nothing even the basics ,my cgpa is very low ,what should i do now, should i focus on certificates from learning basics to up,or should i focus on collage getting some marks
i have seen your videos and understand the importance of skills and the certificates which help us to achieve the skills, but iam asking this question because here while hiring everyone is asking about degree and cgpa also,in my collage itself 80%marks is required for attending interviews
Do you have a portfolio of work you can show to employers? A portfolio of projects that you can discuss with employers is probably your best bet to get around your GPA. I never gave out my GPA when applying for jobs after college. Keep applying for job after job. There HAS to be a job that doesn't care about GPAs. If you feel like you haven't learned anything from your degree program, certs might help. Build a portfolio and then consider certs if you're struggling to put what your degree program has taught you into practice. Good luck!

How do one apply for this course please?
Hi there! You can apply here: www.coursera.org/professional-certificates/google-cybersecurity
Thanks please
Sir how much will be the course?
The IPV6 address has 33 characters instead of 32 i guess it was a mistake
your sound is low
Great videos but seems like half the info talks about what we will learn and the rest is reviewing the info.
25:34
1st time hearing FaaS as an XaaS. I guess just about every software can become an XaaS.
1:04:30
😨Scary info about the vulnerabilities of cloud providers. And the subsequent tidbit 1:04:44 of cloud vs traditional (network) hardening.
Within is without
For me it is the beard
Why is hearing a few buzzword names considered to be "learning about"?
Sigh, I couldn't finish it in a month and now I don't have money to get into it again.
