Excellent Video! Has helped me to repair a 1960s MM2 ( Transistor amplifier basically same as the 90s models! ) I recon Rowe updated the cabinets often but not the internals! Has also helped with an RI1G even though that's a Lovely Valve amplifier. Many thanks for the top quality vids . Dave Uk
Great Video. I have an R84 and an unusual problem that I hope you can help me with. The left channel when connected plays fine and the right channel plays fine both have a beautiful tone to them however when both channels are connected I do not get any sound from the woofers so at the moment I choose only to use the R84 with 1 channel connected. Can you give me any advice on why the woofers cut off when both channels are connected please ? Rob. UK.
Great help, thank you! I have a imported to the uk R89.could you tell me a source of the drive bands in the dollar acceptor? Obviously we dont have them in the uk.
Awesome video! Thank you! I have a R88 and when I turn the power on I get a loud buzz through the speakers. It only does it for a second or so and then it returns to normal. I believe it might be in the amp but I don't know where to start troubleshooting. I thought I might start by pulling out the amp and cleaning all the connectors, switches and pots. Any advise?
Vintage time things are very great but now days all digital small and people most don’t repair they throw away because they don’t have love to them but vintage Eletronics we love it now days also
Hi, I'm having a problem with the selection on my Rowe Tropicana. When I bought it and brought it home it only played the B side now and again,so thought it was through transporting it and might have moved something. The A side had no problem until recently and is not selecting the record that was picked.Any suggestions please would be appreciated. Thanks jim
Great video, I would like to know if you sell or can recommend a converter from line level signal to the phono input on the amplifier so I can play MP3 from my computer as well, Thank you in advance
I have a Rowe R-85. It has worked great for years. Now I only get sound out of one side. The speaker that does not play is good because i removed it and connected it to the other side wires and it plays great. Sounds like a amp??? or one of the sound boards?
I just bought a Rowe r92 jukebox and the display cd at the top doesnt spin nor are the lights lit around the cd. is there a fuse ? what voltage does the motor draw? love your vis thanks
I have a Rowe R93 and want to replace the factory 130 watt amp with a 250 watt amp. Is there a 250 watt model that will directly interchange with my existing mounting hardware and wiring harness?
I just bought a Rowe AMI Jukebox. Not sure what year model. It was playing perfectly but then yesterday it started not picking up the record. It stopped and started playing. Today record arm goes to the selection but doesn't pick up the record and acts like it is bring to play but nothing is in the arm. When the record arm goes back it seems to get stuck on the top section where it goes to pull the record. Help what can i do?
8:29 how do you check the mute circuit? I have a r90 that I took everything out of to clean and put all back in. I had sound before just not very good because it needed new speakers and there was some cold solder joints. I have it all back together and am not getting any sound and have checked all of what you are referring to up to this time point in your video. You mentioned a mute circuit in r89 up. Please help. Thank you.
Hello. I've got a 1978 Rowe R82 (black magic). I've noticed that the records sound just slightly slow. Any thoughts? I was thinking maybe the capacitors were getting worn out and weren't holding the proper charge all the time. Cool channel!
This sort of turntable usually uses an AC motor that runs off the line frequency. The problem is more likely mechanical. The filter caps generally operate only the power amplifier.
I got an Rowe ami 87 model. Theres a little problem. The left channel is a little quieter and sometimes goes quit when i open the jukebox. Any solutions?
My R89 will sometimes stop mid song. When I flip the service knob, I can get it to play again. Sometimes the selected songs will not start. Does anyone know what I should do? Maybe a new needle/control arm?
Hello! I have a Ami Rowe cd100-E jukebox and I’m having one problem with it, all of the speakers work On it except the top left speaker, what can I check on it to fix the speaker so it works again? Thankyou
Hello I have a question about my R-91. For some reason every song starts out about -30db softer (or so) and then sort of increases volume after about 10 seconds into a song to full volume, almost as if it's a setting or something.. but I can't find a setting in the manual. Any ideas?
That would be the automatic volume control, which is normal. The amplifier has this feature due to records being recorded at different volume levels. It prevents the volume control from having to be adjusted manually.
Great video ! Thanks. I have a AMI Rowe R88 and the problem is that i have one volume stand: 100% loud ! We try another volume controller on the back. It won’t help. I don’t have a Wall volume controller. Any idea what the problem can be ? Thanks, all the best from the Netherlands. Danny
It sounds like the ground lead on the volume control may be open somewhere in the pot or the wiring harness. The end the wiper will touch when the pot is turned fully counter clockwise.
I have a Rowe AMi CD jukebox and my Cd mechanism makes a clicking sound when i feed the bill collector money. Any idea is this is normal? It doesn't sound normal. It does go away, but I wonder where the sound is coming from.
Hi I have a Rowe AMI R1-3 Jewel. It will play continuously at random but only B sides of the record I've tried flicking the switch on the control panel to most popular and least popular but makes no difference please can anyone advise. Thanks in advance.
My friend bought her Rowe AMI jukebox and we had to buy a needle in order for us to be able to see if it works. And it did work with a serious problem. The volume would only play at full blast and while turning it down it wouldn't have no sound at all. Blew the speakers so we got more speakers now it doesn't play at all. Anyone who could help us troubleshoot this problem would be very much appreciated. Thank you and have a great day or evening.
Eddie Gehrels Hi I have the same problem on my jukebox and have no idea how to fix it. I have tried to get companies to try to fix it but always let down by not turning up. So now i am trying to fix it myself with the help of You tube. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks
Ok I've enjoyed my new jukebox all week..I turned it on today and can't turn the volume down..it only cuts off one side..the other side is blasting...I can't play it wide open on one side cause I can't ...where do I go to figure it out
The upper speakers in that box are going to sound like shit. Where are the upper speaker baffles? The bottom speakers will sound great because they are in the original speaker box/baffles. Whats up with the upper speakers??? They are just hanging out in the thin air with no separation between the front of the cone and the back of the cone.... Is the baffle in the upper door??
At the 14:00 mark you talk about how you get full volume as a sign of a failing amplifier. My sounds is not distorted, but the volume control knob lost its low level and plays loud. It can increase in sound but doesn't decrease. Can this be a problem with the control knob of the amp?
Love the sound of all Rowe Jukeboxes! I have an AMI F120 .
Just fixed our jukebox thanks to your great video.
