Not to be confused with the Paterson crash… when the Master Blender for Dalmore threw a Glencairn full of whisky on the floor.
😂
Whiskey nerd hour is my favorite!!! I wish it was an actual hour long!
The best Chanel to nerd out on by far. Keep it up.
I love whiskey nerd hour! I love hearing this kind of stuff. Cheers and thank you again for another great conversation 😊🥃
I am literally here for nerd hour with Daniel Whittington. 😂
Thank you as always for the video 🥃
Interesting story, thanks.
I love this pour! I’ve bought two bottles already!
Thank you so much you are amazing as always
Whisk[e]y History is awesome!
I found that really interesting!
Great story
I've been wanting to try this after it arrived at the store I run. I think you are absolutely correct about the re-coopering and alternating cask staves, just like Glenlivet's new travel exclusive (only available at certain airports) Caskmakers Single Malt.
Can we please get a video featuring Glenlivet Illicit Still?
I agree!
I love rum, so anything to do with whiskey and rum sounds interesting to me.
People always think, "It'll be different, this time!" But it never is.
Thank you Daniel! Can you please share your perspective on Whisky Loch crisis? It should be interesting)
I had a weird dream last night that Daniel and I opened a whiskey bar in Paris.
You said a lot of words near the end that I didn't understand... this is why I am not in business in any way. Definitely blows that a couple people with lots of money can do so much harm to so many other people. I'm sure nothing like that is happening right now at all... 🖖😎🥃
Thanks for all the great Information. I was thinking about asking you what you thought about barrel investing. I haven't been able to find out much about it only Facebook adds which I don't trust without some good backup.
Definitely did not do it.
Don't. The Whisky Baron has a great video on it that even Ralfy referenced to on his last week's Extras.
7:30 -- I'm pretty sure it will work the other way. Like, whatever Daniel suggests will be done in the next release of Glenlivet. Isn't that what Highland Park did with "The Dolphins", "Wings of the Eagle" and "Spirit of the Bear" (allegedly)?
From their homepage: Experience transformed by fusion. Our experts finish a selected portion of this whisky in bespoke casks, made from hand-selected first fill rum and bourbon barrels that have been expertly dismantled and reassembled, for a luxurious new depth of flavor.
so... some assembly required?
lol... 🥃
Hey. Best place to ask this question, how long can you actually keep an opened bottle. I’m sure Daniel’s vault has opened bottles older than googles stated 2 year max
I don't know where Google picked that answer up, but its dead wrong. When stored upright in a dark place with a stable temperature (like your kitchen cabinet), it lasts indefinitely. Alcohol does not spoil.
Thank you @0odaan12. I always thought that but panicked when I read that. New to whisky but Iv built up a nice wee collection this while. The whisky community is a good one. Thanks again
Great story. Love to "Nerd out" on stories that explain the trials and tribulations of the whiskey world.
Firing squad perhaps?
I will now that I watched this video😂
😁🙌🏻🥃
I stepped away from the channel for a bit, where is Rex?
Hmm, my last name is Pattison. My ancestors were Scottish. Just in case there's a relation here that I'm unaware of, sorry about that... lol.
The phylloxera pandemic was crazy. How one time insect was able to destroy a major of the wine region was crazy. However, it did help bring regions to life. I am not sure Rioja would bee well known if phylloxera hadn’t taken over. France may have not taught the Spanish winemaker. Luckily Europe learned that grafting the vines onto American rootstocks helped protect them. There are some regions that were not affected, I believe Chile hasn’t been hit by it.
129👍
Not just bombarded by ads, but YT reviewers as well all touting the next bottle you MUST buy! 🙄
Welcome all Whiskey Vaulters to Story Time with Daniel!
Great to learn about this crash. (Principal is actually the word you were looking for and that you ended up using)
omost
Whisky Nerd Hour with D.W. -- definitely a possible name for this channel if "Whiskey Vault" weren't THAT much better!
Another great "whisky nerd hour" 🥃
Dan, have you written any whiskey books? I'd love to read from your wealth of knowledge
it's ponzi.
Thirst...3/5 stars wouldn't change a thing
ponzi scheme
