What a fabulous find. I started my driving career with AA Griggs, at the main depot in Soham , Cambs. I recognised a lot of the vehicles shown from the various depots. Wonderful family firm to work for. Interest to see one of the photos of a long line of lorries parked by the side of the road, a contract we had with the american forces. Brought back lots of fond memories.

yeh I can remember my dad roping and sheeting loads of glass bottles at rockware glass in doncaster in 90 degrees heat, then jumping in his atki borderer and driving to down to coca cola schweppes in sidcup kent, I used to help him get his ropes off and pull the sheets off and fold em, he was a proper old school driver, no power steering, cruise control, night heaters or anything like that, today's steering wheel attendants wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes.

Also had a depot at Watchet in Somerset, my dad was the garage foreman until they were all made redundant around 1998 and they shut it down.

It shut down later than that.. I was still running into Watchet mill in the 2000s from Avonmouth for Griggs / St Regis

A good firm, got a backload of reels off of them a few times. I remember having to put an old fly sheet down on the bed first because of holes in the bed, You needed some good chocks with
one long chock on ropes to go across the back. Nice photos, thank you.
