    Any chance we could see a comparison of the Sony VPL-VZ1000ES, and the VPL-VW5000ES and/or VPL-GTZ380. I’m considering these for a living room setup as I don’t have a good dedicated home theater room at the moment.

      @@rynev3392 than you are ok with 325 but don't go any bigger if you want HDR and 3D to look good.
      Native contrast of both 325 and 715 are somehow simmilar, somewhere around 11000:1-14 000:1, depending on the calibration but 715 has better lense and it has an IRIS which helps a lot but I don't belive the price difference is worth, at last not for 110 inch.
      I hope you have a dark room, and not white walls couse it will kill the very good contrast of the LCOS chip and you wil end up with an image similar in contrast with a DLP...

      this is a very expensive projection system and will deliver oled quality up to a certain size. You may just want to buy the 98inch oled over this one, but it has the capabilty to be much much larger screen size. Your room dictates the black levels in a projector environment

    Sony is OVERPRICED as usual, and that's why Samsung took over the TV market in the early 2000s. Anything Sony is OVERPRICED.

    • @LazyCrazyGuy
      @LazyCrazyGuy Před 3 lety +7

      Not everybody wants trash in their house. When you buy Sony you pay for premium quality. Especially when you buy their flagship products. They usually are sourced and manufactured in Japan. Which means you are also paying for build quality and reliability. That doesn't show up in a stat sheet.

    • @taseti4803
      @taseti4803 Před 3 lety +5

      @@LazyCrazyGuy Clearly, you don't know what you're talking about. Sony TV'S break down more than Samsung TVs, and guess what. Sony's are more expensive to repair. I'm in the business so I know what I'm talking about. Sony products are OVERPRICED. If it wasn't for Samsung turning the industry on it's head early 2000s. People will still be paying 15 to 20 thousand for a flat screen. If you're not buying Pro series when it comes to flat panels or projectors, you're buying a product that's going to need repairs within the next 5 to 7 years if you purchased a flagship model.
      Sony is a lot like BOSE. They built a reputation that was great in their heyday, but today there's so much more better products available for a cheaper price, or, a real true premium product that's worth the price tag. Again, I digress. Sony electronics is OVERPRICED.

    • @scottwallace1
      @scottwallace1 Před 3 lety +1

      @@taseti4803 I don’t know what business you’re in or what bizarro world it is where Samsung is more reliable than Sony. Because it’s not consumer electronics. The best Sony is wildly better than the best Samsung, and by a wide margin. And ‘overpriced’ is a value judgment, usually leveled by people angry that they don’t make more money. The best always commands a premium. Frankly, it would give me pause if I could get a new 911 for the same price as a Camry.
      Best TV available to the consumer right now? Sony A90J series OLED.
      Best projector available to the consumer? (* that you can actually find and that you don’t have to potentially travel across multiple state lines to get to*): Sony GTZ-380.
      Now, at the risk of being called an absolutist, there are scenarios where something else may be called for. Though the A90J gets brighter than its predecessors, for really bright rooms, a brighter LED or Samsung QLED may be the better option, in those environments (like…a glass house on the surface of Mercury).
      And a projector that bright and big would have to be throttled back so much on a small projection screen that you wouldn’t be playing to the projector’s strengths (but again…its inherent quality is such that even dialed back, its other virtues still make it a better projector).
      So, to your point, there are quality options available at a lower price. But better options? No way. If you can afford it, Sony are making the best video display products available to the average consumer (and again, I’m not talking about unobtainium product like uber high-end Barco or Christie).

    • @taseti4803
      @taseti4803 Před 3 lety +1

      @@scottwallace1 You're changing the subject because you're emotional. I never typed Samsung is a better quality than Sony. Where did you get that from? I typed facts about Samsung turning the electronics world on its head in early 2000s. Samsung damn near put Sony out of business. This is a fact. Sony had an entire business park in Ranco Bernardo which is located in San Diego. Sony was manufacturing alot of there products in various buildings, TVs ect. Sony moved their entire manufacturing business to Mexico, a little place not to far from Tijuana. LOL, but you think you know so much.
      Sony was selling 50 inch flat panels for 8 to 10 grand, and Samsung started pushing there own brand which offered the same specs as Sony for have the price. Samsung is the reason why flat panels became affordable to all. This is a fact. When you crack open Sony flat Panels you will see Samsung hardware.
      At the time when Samsung launched there TVs, Sony felt betrayed because they had a deal with Samsung for electronic parts. Damn near every electronic item in the world uses Samsung hardware, including Apple. So miss me with Sony being a better quality because technically they're not. Sony TVs breakdown more than Samsung TVs on average.
      That's not to say Samsung is better than Sony. All these flat panels being produced from brands are crap products and I explained in my previous post why. If you're not buying a pro series flat panel or projector, you're buying an inferior product-period. The flat panels you see at Stadiums are pro series. The hardware is premium and the flat panels are built to last for decades.
      Question, why would these brands sell a TV to their customers that will last 10 plus years? That's counter productive. They wont be able to keep selling a high amount of TVs. Sony products have always been OVERPRICED. Do you even know why Sony TVs are OVERPRICED? It's because the industry uses a Sony pro monitor to judge all the flagship panels every year. That within itself is bias and not a fare comparison.
      You shouldn't judge inferior products to a professional monitor. I digress, selling an OVERPRICED product doesn't make it a quality product. Now what's funny is this. Back in the mid 2000s, the Sony bravia tvs use to be more dependable. Guess why? That's because damn near the entire internal parts of the tvs were Samsung parts. Sony still uses Samsung parts but not as much as they use too, and now there TVs breakdown waaaaaaayyy more often now. The Sony bravia pretty much was destroyed because of the change of parts.
      Each brand handles color reproduction and grading differently. Listen, in early 2000s Pioneer Kuro TVs ruled, and those tvs were so premium, they were being sold with houses that had them mounted on the walls. You can't say that for Samsung or Sony TVs. A lot of people in the industry (including myself) use to have a running joke about Sony TVs. The is if you take th shell off the tv and or the brand name off the tv. The tv will be a Samsung TV.
