Yea I remember my first drone flight it was similar to yours Kev but believe me practice makes perfect just have to be patient and be gentle with controls and it will be easier in more open space with slow winds cool? Best of luck mate love the videos! Keep it up!

Very nice Video Kev. Very nice drone too. I have some 220 mm drones, and two of them are with 2306 2400 kV motors from Emax. They are crazy fast, and I love them. Go praticing with stabilized mode before go to Acro mode (Expert). Try to fly with googles in a open place in a predifinited circuit, makes the things easyer.

it took me months to fly my race and freestyle drones. I have been flying for a few years now and must say it takes hours of perseverance and will likely take you a few weeks before you get comfortable. I wish I was closer to you to teach you. lol. I had no one and it was a rough journey. I learned how to build and work on them as well and that is a whole other level. lol. Good luck Kev. If you have any questions let me know.

It's easier outside Kevin. Having too many obstacles for your first few flights is hard. That Emax can handle wind really well. Go in front of your shop or a football field. You will get it quickly when you have room to fly and experiment with the controls. I hope you try it again in the future.

A good trick is to let the drone hover just as it takes off so the cushion of air is holding the drone in the air and then you can leave the left stick alone get the hang of balancing the drone. Love the channel Bro!!!
Get some FXT Viper Goggles. Great display and anyone can wear them even with glasses on (Pat). Great goggles. Also get you some AKK AIO cameras. They are dirt cheap and with some good Velcro they work on anything.

Kev what's happening with your monster truck?
Outside of a simulator, that Emax tinyhawk is one of the best ways to start out and learn. First thing you want to get down pat, and it's not going to be exciting or fun, is your throttle management. Best way to learn throttle management, is to practice stationary hovering.
When you can pick a 1-foot square box in open air (or smaller squared space) and hover inside that box without touching or passing the imaginary walls of that box for @ least one whole battery (better if you can do it for two batteries, obviously landing and swapping out batteries doesn't count against you) you have learned a majority portion of how to properly manage you throttle.
Once you do that, your next step is going to be one of two avenues you should choose from. Learning to maneuver line of sight while still managing your throttle. Or putting on the goggles while you're learning to maneuver while managing your throttle. Either way is fine. Just remember, if you're really wanting to throw a GoPro on one of these race quads and get cinematic footage, you will eventually have to put the goggles on. So don't let that aspect of it intimidate you out of learning how to fly with the goggles.

Hello from the technical guy at the British Drone Racing Association. Its great to see you getting into drones keep up the practice!!!
top tips for practice in FPV
1. fly forwards. gentle pitch forward and keep moving forwards makes everything a bit simpler don't go mad with the speed but just get it moving forwards.
2. move with purpose. set up an imaginary course (figure 8 is good) do some laps of your imaginary track once you can do that without thinking too much get some actual obstacles use the lambo! no risk no reward.
3. throttle control is key. maintaining the desired height is a combination of throttle and pitch. you have the perfect location in your warehouse to practice that try and do your laps at a steady height. this one is the hardest as it is all feel and only comes from stick time.
4. link roll and yaw to turn. in the turns coordinate roll and yaw (whilst still pitching forward) to maintain authority in the turns otherwise you will just float round flat and drift out on the turns.
5. fly with others! best tip is to fly with some other people so you can get some of their experience! not sure where you are in the country but i am sure there are pilots nearby who can share their knowledge.

It took me probably six months to fly drones in acro mode but I found it helps if you fly in a big open space

If you try to fly FPV in Acro, you need to learn it with an Simulator, for example Liftoff.
And the best way is, to buy the Radio (most are using Taranis, but if you want the best than Futaba) that you want to use later, connect it to your PC and fly by simulator bevor you crash the real Copter every 3 secounds. ;-)

hey kev with the drones go EASY on the throttle. dont be that ALL OR NOTHING guy lol. go easy it will help with getting started, and then you can learn to do a crazy stuff. r.i.p lambo. i used to be the same way kev. i would always go up and then panic and do no throttle then panic again about it hiting the ground and then do all throttle. just be easying on the throttle and steering first. then you will get used to it
And you have to push the left stico down and to the left to start the eachine
It's actually not boring. I have tried this and it makes me want to throw up. Something about how my mind works, or doesn't work. Your helio flying will definitely help you in this.
I'll stick with my GPS drones. My Typhoon H+ is the EASIEST drone I've ever flown and it can reach up to 40+mph. But these little race/FPV drones do intrigue me.

Pretty fair try Kev I have to admit I was worse than this at first take. I would say probably two years practice from this moment will take you to the level you described - chasing real life drifting cars or monster trucks with confidence. Check out the French pilot (Fincky) on the subject or Mr Steele or JohnnyFPV all great names in the field.

When you wanna do a flip punch the throttle when you get close to wanting to roll let off the throttle completely do the roll then catch it with the throttle before you hit the ground it takes hours and days of practice to get good

hey, i fly recing drones and i now that is hard, i recomend yo to wach some chanels that teach you to how to learn to fly and also wach videos of the products that you want before you buy them to see if there is any other good option or to know how they work. some good chanels are drone mesh, uav futures, the rcaddict, joshua bardwell and kababFPV
