    Vince was a genius back in the day, but he's lost his touch. I'm sure age is a large reason for his poor decision making lately. But I think social media has had a big effect on the wrestling business too. The fans have too much say so in who they want to be their champion and if they don't get the champion they want they complain. Same goes with the matches and who wins those matches.

    • @silverzombie4477
      @silverzombie4477 Před 4 lety

      Ace Goodheart Is Vince a genius or is he an opportunist?
      At some point, wrestling had to evolve past the territories, Vince made sure it was him. NWA had done a CCTV broadcast 18 months before WrestleMania, Vince had more resources at his disposal to make it work.
      A lot of what Vince has done has been off the back of other people’s work and simply putting it on a grander scale.

    • @AceGoodheart
      @AceGoodheart Před 4 lety

      @@silverzombie4477 back then I would say he had a great mind for the wrestling business. It wasn't just taking over the other territories he also knew how to make wrestling appealing to all. It wasn't about just wrestling. He made his wrestlers larger than life/entertainers. He knew Hulk Hogan had that "it factor". Many, if not all the wrestlers working for WWE/F at that time seemed to all have gimmicks. They were all characters similar to comic books. Obviously other wrestler promotions had that too, but I think Vince took it to another level. And although Jim Crockett started the idea of PPVs with Starrcade Vince again took it to another level and hired stars from other areas of entertainment (Liberace, Cindy Lauper, Muhammad Ali, etc.). He even had a cartoon made of his wrestling characters, which as a kid, is what made me become a wrestling fan. So, I give him credit for what he did for wrestling back then. Although I think today he's out of sync with what appeals to wrestling fans today. Plus I think his ego gets in the way as well.

I'm gonna buy his new T-shirt and help support him. And like I said before, impact should make a best of Eric Young DVD, I would buy it! He seems like a very nice and cool guy. 👍 WWE's broken system is why I would never work there and the fact that I don't agree with Vince McMahon's version of pro wrestling. Vince clearly doesn't care anymore and it shows. Chris Van Vliet always gives the best interviews!👌

    Remembering Turning Point 2007 when Scott Hall decided to not make his appearance for the Main Event. It pissed Samoa Joe so much that he cut a shoot promo dissing both Hall and the TNA management, before calling in EY as Hall's replacement and representation of the OGs who built the brand. Seeing EY back in IMPACT feels like that shoot promo was a long foreshadowing on who will be the sole successor of the company.

    Out of all the wrestlers released by WWE, EC3 and Eric Young were the most wasted. Big fan of him since his early TNA days. EY could do it all. He didn't necessarily need to be World Champ, but he could've been in memorable feuds building up other people rather than just being a severely underutilized jobber. WWE screwed this one up big time!

    I used to watch WWF as a child. After reaching adulthood I went on a 2 decade hiatus from all wrestling. Then on a random chance I ended up finding this program on Hulu called NXT that was a WWE product. I had some free time and hadn't watched wrestling in forever so I figured what the check and kicked it on. Started watching this episode and was in the process of figuring out what was going on. Trying to figure out what this Dusty Rhodes Classic thing was. Recognizing Bobby Rude. Trying to figure out this "10" character...And then it happened. The lights went out... helicopter sound effects.... spotlight swirling .... simple intense riff. SAnitY had me hooked and back into wrestling with a vengeance. Tuned into NXT every week. Are they going to be on this week? Was not thrilled when Sawyer was injured and eventually replaced with Killian. Was a visual thing 4 me. Then y'all got moved to the main roster and it was the end. Thank you, Eric Young, for getting me back into wrestling. I feel I need to work on watching Impact now. (Yes I know, different character)

    Sadly I agree with everything said. Much of the WWE’s issues is that Vince no longer does long term booking. Wrestlers get pushes only to quickly squash them, angles stall, matches are repeated constantly, booking gets changed constantly at the last moment and WWE goes for the quick money (Crown Jewel & Zombie’Jack match) without considering the long term effects of it.
