039 Stihl. New fuel lines, coil, spark plug and oiled clutch needle bearing.

30 year old 039 Stihl chainsaw stopped running. Can we get it running again? Original purchase price was $450. Now they want $700 for the same saw. 390 Stihl is the new 039.

I bought a kit that came with the carb, fuel lines, gas tank filter, coil, and spark plug. payed $28.
(it also came with the oil pick up tube and filter, but mine is oiling fine, so I didn't install that)
Now I don't have to buy a new saw.
Installed a new front engine shock mount (annular buffer.) $6.94 for the kit of 4.
I checked my handle brake and found a part inside the spring cover had come loose.
Complete clutch brake tear down and reassemble.
Oiled my roller pin bearing on the clutch.
Also, let's address the elephant in the room. Ethanol free gas. I have never bought ethanol free gas. I always run the cheap stuff. Are you telling me after 30 years my chainsaw would not need a new fuel system if I only used ethanol free gas?
