Hey Outcast! i'm digging your video's! I love supporting the small channels coming up with good content! i'm not sure where you live at, as for me, i'm in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. so i'm leaning heavily towards my next machine being a Segway. The same machine you have. We ride a little different terrain than you do and we overland through some pretty tough terrain with just about every kind of trail terrain you can imagine from washout's, A LOT of water crossings, rock crawls on flat land, incline and decline and pine forests. You can be on a serious incline rock crawl and at the top, the rocks are gone and you're in a soft pine forest with natural mudholes.
So here are my concerns after spending 2hrs crawling around, in, around and under plus the countless videos i watched of the machine on all different terrain and some way more extreme than we normally encounter. I'd like your take on them since you own one and i'm only a serious prospective purchaser.
    Pro's
1- i love how the body is bolted all the way around
2- the design of the belt case and the ease of being able to change a belt on the trail. If the belt housing has metal inserts for the bolt that would be a serious upgrade from any other machine because EVERY other make just has a bolt that goes into plastic and strip out easily and the fix is putting a metal threaded insert and it's a serious job. IF the Segway is the same, the fix is much simpler because you have access to the backside of every bolt without removing the backside of the belt housing and simply using a longer bolt and a lock nut on the backside.
3- the suspension speaks for itself
Those are the major pro's for what I do and trail repairs in the middle of literally nowhere and you are dependent on knowing how to fix them.
The major Cons and prospective fixes.
1- This is HUGE!!! it appears that "should" you blow a radiator hose or need to get to anything from the top side, the ONLY way to get to it is to remove the entire upper cage to remove the top plastic because there is no actual hood grating access like EVERY other make/model machine on the market. The Fix? simply cut a straight line in the plastic forward of the roll cage and install rubber ball hinges like on a Yeti cooler and they can be purchased at Walmart in the cooler section for about $10. Now just remove the 500 million bolts that separate the top and bottom plastics and remove the hood you just made.
2- more of a pain than a Con- you have to remove the entire skid plate for access to grease the U Joints front and rear
3- Major concern! There are 2 carrier bearings 1 in the rear that you can see just forward of the rear U Joint. The one in the front carrier bearing can be seen after removing the skid plate, just aft of the front U Joint. Those would be the 1st thing I would upgrade to a greaseable carrier bearing, I upgraded my stock one in about an hour. I blew mine out on a trail, it just seized up, it happens with all stock carrier bearings, it's just a matter of time. get a greaseable carrier bearing and it's the last one you will purchase if you grease it like I do every other fitting.... after EVERY ride. Just from looking at the location of each of the carrier bearings, 1- it looks like quite the job and 2- how to grease them? The grease nipple on all the greaseable carrier bearings is on top. The front one looks like it may be mounted upside down. If so, greasing will be easy. The Rear? Not so much. Just changing it looks like a major operation!!
I'd love to hear your thoughts!! if you want, Go to The Whiskey60 Overland channel. I started working with a friend of mine on his channel. 2 ep of season 1 are out. for now, it's just table talk about overlanding for the beginner in a SXS. it's basically a series and a set of building blocks if you will, starting with the bare basics and building up to an actual long distance trip.

I just subscribed. Now if I'm not mistaken, real talk power sports just changed the skid on the 2023 villain and the carrier bearing had a lube fitting.
The hose issue, I'm not sure I've ever seen this happen.
Yes, the suspension is top notch and it loves to flex.
I'm from York Pa now but I ride most of the time at Hatfield McCoy trails since I'm from Logan WV. Great trails there for sure and I'm headed back in March.
I'd say buy it, a good clutch kit for rocks is coming out in about Month and the tune is out now.
It'll handle a lot and I'd say you won't be disappointed with the performance.
The power isn't the greatest but it's being restricted by the clutch and that's why they're making a mud kit for the needed/added power to the wheels.

@@sxsoutcast7651 yes, they just did add the skid plate, watched it last night🤣thats where i saw the 2nd carrier bearing. i sent them an email, i'll see what happens there. so the U Joints are greaseable for sure, the carrier bearings i'm not so sure about. if segway made those greaseable thats anothe 1 up they have on everyone else. thanks for the reply!! hoping to make it out to the hatfield trails! i've seen some pretty technical stuff out there and thats what i thrive on. i love slow, technical stuff!

I just got back from a drive in mine minutes ago -- Out in the desert. Even I am impressed how you got yourself out of that dead-end dirt-pile. I think I'll get the MSC ecu tune just for the richer fueling to help take some of the worry out of really flogging such a high strung engine. Sounds like you're getting the bash plates like me. Gotta say I don't really understand you guys back East and you're love of drowning machines dangerously deep in mud. I spent half my trip dodging cow pies and you guys seem to aim for it. I can literally see a turd floating in the mud the ZForce drove through.

So your saying it's not good in mud because you dont want to take it in mud. Im looking at buying one of these and live in Florida where a lot of our trails have mud.

Segway a lot better than the zforce?

I'm not saying that for everyone. My problems with the 950 was major issues on a continuous basis. The issues never stopped even after the new engine was installed. If you want a mudder, z950. If you want comfort, great suspension, better wheel base, then Segway is for you. I'm not saying that you can't mud with the villain but I don't want to do that with mine. Each unit has it's place so the Segway is my place right now. I hope this helps.
