Beats Flex Review | Two Weeks Later | Best Budget Bluetooth Headphones?

- Reviewing Apple's Beats Flex headphones, which for £50 could be among some of the best budget Bluetooth wireless earphones of 2020. Sound quality is good for the value price, you've got easy-access controls and auto pause features, while the Beats Flex also deliver over ten hours of battery per charge. They're not True Wireless of course, but if you don't mind the cable connection, there's lots to love here.
If you want something to use out and about a lot, or down the gym, you will want to look elsewhere. The lack of a wing tip means these earphones do slip a bit if you're always on the move, while there's no IPX8 or IPX5 water resistance. Those gripes aside, I enjoyed testing the Beats Flex out for the past couple of weeks.
Check out my reviews of other Bluetooth headphones, for other ideas. The likes of Taotronics do some very good TWE options for around the same cost.
I like these because they are Neckband styles and you don’t have to worry about pulling them in and out of the charging case and they have a battery life That last all day and also that you can answer the phone by pulling the air buds apart which is not mentioned in the video nowhere
So far what I like is that able to hear vocals while out on my walks. Does not have that bass bump which is OK with me. Great for what I wanted which was to be able to listen to my music while out on my walks without me pulling my wired earbuds out by accident which would happen from time to time. Well worth it for the price that they are at.

Just got a pair. They the bees knees for the price. They don’t stay in when moving regardless which bud you use but really nice when chilling and answering phone.

It's actually a nice deal, but I still wished they offer a version with the Lightning port connector so current iPhone users with only Lightning cables can easily charge these this headset.

They included a Type-C cable in the box already.

These were ideal for me, I was fed up plugging in headphone wires to my phone and I nearly lost an in ear wireless ear bud costing more than two hundred pounds.

Please don’t bother. I tried them today I worked for a couple hours and returned them. Worst sounding headphones I ever had. That might not be your opinion but it is mine. I got the anker soundcore spirit x2 they played yesterday from the Beatles so nicely. They can loose the beats if they take them off.

I love these! The fact that they are not truly wireless is the best imo
got these over a year ago, they are great. They last all day listening to pods and music, if fully charged i know I am good for the day. Sound quality obviously went down a bit understandably, but still sound nice. Used and abused these probably roughly 3500hrs now, still going strong. I got airpods, with a phone and I still choose these, magnet so you can just put under your shirt is so nice, and they last WAY longer and more reliable and no fuckery. Anytime not using can just hang under shirt. 10-10 for me, not actualy 10-10 sound can improve quite a bit for the price it is what to be expected, not bad just not glorious. However, price, reliability. convivence, is a huge 10-10 for me.
I just got some of these and I really like them, BUT there’s this super irritating static noise that comes on whenever any kind of audio plays. Anyone know how to fix this??
Got these as a Birthday gift and totally love them. Audio quality they are fine (I ain't a HIFI buff) Wondering how many recharges this can sustain but still at 50 euros it's a great deal. Thanks for the review!

I've had these for about 6 months. I likes them. The sound isnt the isn't the greatest. But it's workable. It does a good job of a noise cancellation especially when you're listening to me music. It's really handy that they are in my in my opinion because I always lose earbuds. And the yellow gets a lot of compliments. Overall I think they are durable and a good choice if you want headphones that will work and have decent quality but I would suggest something else if you are an audio file for the casual user these are excellent

Hello. Could you please clarify the following: If you wear only the one headphone (right or left) and the other one is left hanging, is the hall headset stable in the neck while e.g. walking? Or it starts shifting towards the side that headphone is left hanging? Thank you in advance for your support.
The earphones are actually pretty good. Unfortunately my right side is cracked and internals are out. I'm hoping anyone with this issue can find a fix for this because I think buying a replacement is expensive. So if anyone has any fixes to this, thanks if you find one.

Good price but have never liked this style of BT earbuds with those dongle bits on the cable...

Prefer controls on the buds themselves.
As for bargains, my brill bargain buys over the last couple of months, would be the AKG N700nc for 72quid (New) and Libratone Zipp 2 for 79quid (New).....both superb value for he price, especially the Libratone Zipp 2. So much so, that I'm selling my Sonos One, and feel no need to pay an extortionate amount for Sonos Move just for portability and Bluetooth....

@@ImrealAsad never tried one plus buds, but i’ll have to say this. Since i have been trying them for nearly a month, I honestly believe this is even better than my AirPods 2. If you can fit the silicone tips comfortably, they sound nearly as good as the AirPods 2 with noise canceling. You can even let it a little loose if you want to hear something without muting your surroundings. for 50$ it is seriously a no-brainer. Honestly if this went for 80$ i would not have complained. 50$ is a steal from quality to branding.

@@ImrealAsad i may be optimistic on this point, but honestly if you fit the silicon well into your ears, I genuinely find it good enough, and that is from someone who is coming from AirPods 2.
My new every day headphones! I was so in love with my Jaybird Tarah Pro and unfortunately Jaybird discontinued them and came up with the Vista 2 wish have no connecting cables. The price is fair for the great battery life and are so comfortable to wear or carry around that you easily forget you have them around the neck

I have got the beatsX 3 years ago. It's just the same like those new "flex". They were working flawlessly until FW autoupgrade this summer. After that they stopped to work. Such a shame. I'm not only one with the problem. And guess what- Apple announced new product, same look same functionality. Am I pushed to buy new product just because some FW joke? Wtf
I got the plug in version for like $25 then got a cheap jbl version for under $10 they are too similar are they even any bet5than plugins aka 3.5

Can you turn them into wired if needed with an AUX cable? I have an old iPod Classic with plenty of music I still listen to with my older Beats.
No word on the friction noise made on the collar of a shirt by the cord, which is a different experience from full USB ear buds
When I go into my Bluetooth menu they don't show my battery usage as in battery at 30% etcetera
What is a "reasonable" distance? I can't anything that tells me how far away from my phone I can go & keep a connection.

I use beats flex with a Huawei p30 pro and they sound perfectly fine
When the music is paused by the magnets. Does resuming music from the phone result in playing from the speakers?

I have these pairs. They are not the best fit for running but they are not terrible either.
I dont like the way the cables stick out like that either. Overall they are not bad, time will tell if they last.

Does anyone know if both ear buds have to play or can it be one or the other?
I find they disconnect easily without cause, mid-song they will stop and sound will start on my iPhone. Find it really annoying. It doesn’t matter if phone is right next to them.
All good with my Beats Flex, except the microphone. Where the mic rests on the neck makes for muffled, poor quality listening on the other end of the call connection. Would not recommend for lots of important phone call use like in an office.

I have these and an old Beats X neckband model: the X is far better than the Flex (but they were around150$ at that time).
They are a better fit, the passive sound deadening is superior, the sound is better (the Flex are flat and dull).
The only thing the Flex has for them is the battery life: more than double what the X offer.
They are cheap but not that great in the end. I would pick a new pair of Beats X over these anytime.
I don't know if it's the color, but they look really cheap...

I'm not able to answer the phone calls by pressing the round button on the left panel. Not sure if anyone else faced this issue.
If i turn off bluetooth on phone i have to press and hold the power button to connect everytime

They have a charging issue. If you let your headphones die and then charge it it wont charge most of the times.

I got some in black and they are great (so far see my end point), I am (like everyone) working remotely atm and I need to be connected to my laptop all day without being in front of it it (so I can hear alerts and pretend I was slaving away) and I wanted a light set of headphones to listen for them and my music (although I am more of an audiobook podcast kinda guy). Mine fit really well (really suck into my ear) and they do (kinda) isolate outside noise well because of that ... BUT I had the first ever release of these a few years back and I had nothing but problems with them failing after a few weeks (an blinking alert light would come on and they were done and I replaced them about 3 times before I got a refund), if that happens to these I will post a reply. Like the reviewer said I wouldn’t run or take them to the gym but my AirPods battery is shocking now and these are a good filler until my birthday 🎁 comes around.

Just curious because I had the same exact issue with my Beats X; had a pair that was dead right out of the box, and then a 2nd pair failed shortly after I got them. Hoping these ones work out, I bought them because I liked the yellow and $50 felt like a win haha so we'll see 🤞🏻

I like them for jogging but they fall out often when weight training upper body because of the wire catching /dragging on my shirt during some arm and shoulder movements.

Sadly can't use while charging as they'll switch off. But charge em 30 mins ya get an hour or 2 still
Just received mine today, and they paired with my iPhone XS Max with zero issues. BUT, I cannot for the life of me get them to pair with my MBP (OS 10.15.7), despite them showing up in my Bluetooth device menu and saying they're connected. There's just no sound whatsoever. Cannot figure it out. Any suggestions?

These headphones are great, the only thing I don’t like is the charging idea of the beats. Yeah not a huge fan of USB-C, I need to buy another brick to connect them😒
It’s just a cheaper ear bud cuz they stopped giving you some in your iPhone box so this will be a cheap option for people who can’t afford AirPods or beats on the higher ends

These are good earbuds but the the microphone is too far up and needs to be moved closer to the left earbud. Right now the microphone is covered by my neck and ppl cannot hear me or I’m muffled… maybe they should offer different sizes; I have a size 19” neck…

Would you mind to teach how to charge this Beats Flex ?.....there is a total chaos , as there is a CZcamsr saying that a " 20 W USB-C power charger" is needed to do it, and in his own box came up an " Apple 5W USB power charger"....perhaps I don't quite understand this issue , but if so, why Apple is providing useless chargers ? Thanks if you answer this shocking fact

I bought BeatsX for the same money as the Flex just a month before its release……but at least mine came with wing tips and a pouch since it's an old stock.
You definitely did the right choice. I have my BeatsX 3 years now, and just ordered a new Beats Flex. If I could, I would have bought the Beats X again- just for the wingtips. They give the BeatsX their signature noise isolation and fit. Would have cost Apple 1c to add those wingtips and upgrade their Beats Flex to another level. Dumb move imo.
Do the beats X wing tips fit on the flex? I still have some spare tips
@@magee26 Earbuds have little slits in them for air flow. The slit on the wingtips needs to align with the slit in the buds. BeatsX have the slits on their bottom part, while the Flex have them on the top.... So, naively, the answer is “no”, the X’s wingtips don’t fit the Flex. Once I get my Flex I’ll know better what can be done. The extra wingtips I got are blue, and the Flex I ordered are black, which is another annoying thing.
The flex has 12 hour battery life and the newer wireless chip so the beatsx aren’t as good.
@@Moose185 no. They both have the W1 chip. Battery life for the Flex is slightly better, but not by a lot.
