  • Meet Patrice Wynne, a former small bookstore owner from Berkeley whose business was shuttered by the rise of Amazon. Seeking a fresh start, Patrice moved to the vibrant city of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, where she found not just a new home but a new purpose.
In San Miguel, Patrice founded Abrazos, a fair-trade company that employs local mothers and daughters to create stunning, handcrafted clothing and household items. See their designs here: sanmigueldesigns.com/es/

I watched this video in awe; she spoke smoothly, interestingly, and charmingly with no notes!

I am fascinated and energized by Patrice’s story of her life. She is a determined, hard working, creative entrepreneur. Abrazos is so
Inviting and fun that I just must get to San Miguel one day!!However, I did order an assortment of clothes and home goods from the Abrazos website and I love everything and the clothes fit perfectly.

Patrice, this is a beautifully done segment. I have a mantra that there are no ugly colors (though one can make a bad choice) and you are the exemplar of it. See you Tue. Barb Goodman

Pretty sure that was Colin Quinn on SNL who said that, not Jon Stewart, tho I think the origins are in old cop movies. But no diss intended. I love this lady’s attitude.

Ironically, one reason the name Amazon was selected was because of A and Z letters in the name also

Nice story but how about a current story. She did this 20 years ago. What's it like to move to Mexico in 2024? It has gotten more expensive and much higher income requirements.

Thank you for appreciating my story. It’s been my experience that one can always find a life in Mexico if you keep talking to people you meet. Yes, San Miguel has risen in cost of living, but hasn’t everywhere? Then again, there are always hidden gems to be discovered in places to live and places to reside.
