Good day Ash. Growing up the the southern United States we used fat lighter, or fat wood as you called it, all the time. Great advise, every man should know.
Hi Ash. You’ve managed to combine all of my favorite interests on your channel. I try to camp every other month even if it is just for one night. Thanks for the great content.
Great video Ash! despite having spent many hundreds of nights camping out in a range of environments, I've only recently discovered the simple joys of bushcraft. This was a very informative video and I look forward to searching for some fatwood during my next outdoor adventure. Keep it up!
Bushcraft is food for the soul. Although I wasn't saying that yesterday, when trying to light a fire with a ferro rod in a fresh wind. (I used a lighter in the end and tea was successfully brewed).
Great video Ash! I'm liking the switch up in video topics and I definitely need to pass information like this on to my kids, especially since I already live in a very wooded area. Keep up the great content!!
Really enjoying these informative videos from oak camp. My question is do you own the land that your in or is it from a friendly farmer / land owner? Keep up the great work Ash 👍🏻
I have had an interest in bushcraft for many years and have been fortunate enough to attend Paul Kirtley/Ray Mears bushcraft courses. I know that you will have one, but I think it is important to mention that when using knives, axes, saws etc one should have a FAK close by, preferably on one’s person. P.s. What was for dinner?

I’ve never heard of Fat Wood so it was a very interesting video, well done Ash 👍🏻
Excellent explanation of how to find and use fatwood Sir.
I enjoy Bushcraft as well but have never got round to harvesting fatwood, I’ll give it a go now!
Thanks for another great video Ash. Keep them coming my friend, enjoy that lovely fire.

What’s the brew of choice??? If coffee, have you seen/used the Nanopresso!?!? Very cool piece of kit💪. If tea…you’ve saved 100$🤣🤣🤣
I’m a tea drinker. And whiskey of course
Different ways of making fire. It's good to learn alternatives.
Did you bring your Kelly kettle?
Absolutely.
Fantastic video 👍 love all things bushcraft, looking forward the upcoming videos on the outdoors!
Very well done, sir! Thanks for sharing.
Currently a fire ban in my area, happens pretty much all summer. I'll have to look for natural fatwood as what I own was all store bought.

Excellent episode mate. Using the Explorer during the week out? Cheers.

Did you sit on your hat?
There’s a 4WD CZcams chanel named RONNY DHAL. From Australia. A bushman. He uses a flint to start a fire 6:12
