My biggest piece of advice to anyone struggling in air battles, even if the enemy has committed to a head on DO NOT DO IT. That's the worst decision you can make 9/10 times.

Are you doing a canopy roll? Looks like you're just rotating in place. If you're using keyboard, try Q + A or E + D. In a turn battle, use landing flaps and Q or E to make tighter turns. The biggest change I made lately was using Air Target ammo instead of Armored Targets. Planes literally explode with just a hit or 2 now 😳

If someone is on ur tail then do normal rolls and snap roll (press e +d) and try to slowdown enough so he can surpass you and u can aim at him not quite enough so that gives him the advantage to just fly up without u being able to get yo nose to his tail (my higest br is 3.0 in air)
Always get high up in the sky, if someone commits in high altitude, just dive... if they commit to a dive start acting like crazy or crash to the ground and take him down with you
yeah get the highground first and dont headon never... applies to every game mode cheeky breeky wins always...... but the worst is when my bullets/rounds go in a different dimension or dont do sh!t. then I go play darksouls challenges thats less frustrating
I decided to give the game a go recently and I found it's a radioactive wasteland devoid of balance, realism, consistent in game logic of any kind and most importantly fun. As soon as I got into air battles with actual players I noticed most players were outright cheating, or were veteran players playing at the absolute lowest level with every conceivable advantage, making the game unbearable for the few new players attempting to get anywhere. It sucked when I finally took down the top player on the other team and they just respawn in the same plane and one hit me five seconds later. Then I'm out of the match, done. No more planes. A game where you literally have to pay to respawn is no game at all. What a piece of shit.
I can see myself right there. Gave this game 26 chances over the span of 6 years til it finally clicked with me last year. But saying that i understand it would be a big lie since my pilots or tank crews keep getting 360 headshot no scoped from some random ass bullet. Thought about giving up on the game but then i reminded myself of all the people that subscribed to me and that thought on its own is strong enough to keep me going since that is really the only foundation in my life that i built up alright which holds.

I finally uninstalled WT after not playing it for a Month, feels bad knowing what the game could be, but what it actually is isn't worth our time in my not so humble opinion.
yes but counterpoint the BF-109 needs height and the climb rate is ... well ill leave it at the F-5 with a full bomb load and no afterburners climbs at better angles than it does
i always thought that this game is amazing at the start.. killing everyone in one shot.. getting 20 kills per game.. it was beautiful.. and once i reached tier 2 planes. The game became pay to win as people one shot me with premium planes..
As much I *"Like"* playing war thunder, if you got garbage graphics or terrible pc/console that makes everything look like a crusty Jpeg, I Suggest not downloading the game, barely able to see planes in Ground/air battles, or tanks moving in the bushes, and from the 4 years of playing this game, I highly suggest you play somthing else.

I used to be jealous of planes with 6 guns on the wings but now i find that 3 above the engine work even better
The most annoying aspect of War Thunder is dying to lag.
Also to be fair the plane you were flying is pretty much useless in a head-to-head shooting match because it is like flying a pregnant donkey.
