  • Just want to thank ‪@OfficialEpiphone‬ and my Gibson rep Maclovio Perez for sending me these amazing brand new 2022 Epiphone Les Paul Customs. They are incredible guitars and are deserving of all the praise I can possibly give them. I'm really blown away by the quality, sound & finish. With these Epi's, it is now possible for anyone that has been wanting the look, tone characteristics and feel of an LP Custom, to be able to grab one at a fraction of the cost. It's a home run... #epiphonelespaul #epiphone #lifeofagony #gibson #gibsonguitar #lespaulcustom #lespaulguitar #joeyzampella

I have the IGC LP Custom in Alpine White. And I like it. A lot. For me, everything about it is great. I am taking it to my luthier next week for a pro setup and fret dress. In the meantime, I took off the covers and checked out the parts. Mine has Gibson USA 490R and 498T pickups, CTS pots, Mallory caps and Switchcraft switch and output jack. I was pleased to find that the cavities were super clean and painted white. The wirings were neatly soldered and nicely tucked. I am very happy with this guitar. So impressed that I purchased the IGC 1959 ES-355 in Ebony within a couple of weeks later.

Those look really impressive! I like how the 2022 models have the larger diamond inlay on the headstock and the black pickup ring screws. I didn’t play my Gibson LP custom out much because I didn’t want to break it. These would fill that void for sure. New headstocks are much better looking as well.

I don’t have this one, but I do have an Adam Jones Epiphone Les Paul Custom…it has become my favorite guitar…it has everything: sound, look, and feel…Epiphone has really done the Les Paul name proud I think…

  • @retrocny5625
    @retrocny5625 Před rokem +6

So glad Epiphone finally changed the headstock design to look more like the traditional Gibson head stock, and they made the diamond headstock inlay bigger as well it looks like. The LPC is my favorite guitar design that's ever been created, especially white w/ gold hardware. I have various MIJ (Edwards and Navigator) LPC copies that I cherish, as well as my '89 Ebony Gibson. I love them all dearly.
I had always looked at epiphones in the past and I couldn't get around the headstock design, the lack of an ebony fingerboard, and the rather crappy electronics and general craftsmanship....but the last time I was really looking at them was probably 10 years ago at least so it sounds like a lot has changed. I may have to check one out next time I'm guitar shopping, especially the new Matt Heafy models which people are raving about and selling so well.

I bought an Epi Les Paul Custom Pro in Koa Wood a few months ago. Absolutely love it...I love the phase switch built in as it gives the guitar a very unique sound when used. I play it throught a Boss Katana modeling amp and downloaded several vintage Marshall tube amp setups from the internet...I love the clean, blues, and rock sounds out of this guitar. Setup changed to 9 gauge, lowered action, and this guitar in my oppinion is better than the 2 Gibson Les Paul studios I owned in the 1990s.

As a 'weekend warrior' I need a guitar that can cover a lot of tonal range. I recently bought a Epiphone Les Paul Modern in Caribbean Blue Fade. That guitar has not left my hands since I received it. The quality of this guitar was astounding. The fit and finish were beautiful. The Gibson version sells for $3k and does not come in a flame top. The Epiphone was $700. shipped to me door. Between the coil split (Gibson uses a coil tap) and the phase switch this guitar covers a tremendous amount of ground. Being older my back appreciates the modern weight relieve too. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a LES PAUL guitar to check out the amazing Epiphone line.

It’s April 2024 as I write this comment and the internet is buzzing as Epiphone releases a new batch of Inspired by Gibson premium guitars in collaboration with the Gibson Custom Shop. For $500 more you get the proper Gibson open book headstock along with proper and period correct Gibson specs like pickups, electronics, wiring etc etc. Plus a premium hard shell case with an Epiphone-Gibson Custom commemorative logo, that is also on the guitar. I’m waiting for my Custom in Alpine White to arrive tomorrow. And, I am pre-ordering from Sweetwater the Ebony version in time for Father’s Day. It’s an interesting time but Life is good. Cheers.

So I had it plek’d with the savings and custom setup and it was still less than $1000. It is awesome. Ive played for 50 years on and off with a 70 Cortez LP knockoff and decided to get back to playing seriously and get a good guitar. Greetings Joey!
You don’t have to put your guitar under the plane ✈️, you can put it in the overhead storage instead. I would not have any stringed instrument put in the cargo bay of any aircraft, it is not heated and can ruin stringed instruments almost completely. I have flown with a brand new Epiphone Les Paul and I carried it onto the airplane myself and put it in the overhead storage bin. This would be my recommendation for you whenever you are flying somewhere, and have to take your guitar with you.
The Epiphone Les Paul Custom Guitars have coil splits too, and the pickups sound great also.

Hey Mike! Yes, thank you, I know, but I travel with up to four instruments... and the flight case for my Les Pauls is a double case (holds two guitars), way too big and bulky to bring into the main cabin of an aircraft. My Flying V cases are giant as well, and also don't fit in overheads, and I've had airlines tell me at the airport that I had to purchase an extra seat on the aircraft for the guitar, if I wanted to bring it on... asking for $1500 on the spot. It's a nightmare, but, I've learned that traveling with the right flight cases protects the guitars really well when going underneath. Also, you have to lessen the tension of the strings to help the neck relax for the flight. Happy Holidays! \,,/

We had chatted about that guitar before but you brought it out from the bus and told me its history while I held it. You even showed me a small crack near the headstock or someplace that happened when you dove off a stage in (I think) Rhode Island. I think you had to go to the hospital as you busted your head on the floor. I think you even said you recorded River Runs Red with it. I am glad to see you still have that beast! I hope all is well!

Seeing Mina perform is incredible as I, as well as everyone else, can tell she is very happy. The whole band performed insanely good and looked happy as well.. Easily the best time I have seen you guys play. I wanted to say hello in person as it's been too many years, but I had to leave as soon as the show ended, unfortunately. So, I've gotten A LOT of messages here (and elsewhere) asking for an actual sound clip or "demo" of these two Epiphone LP Customs, and I thought, best is to let you hear them in action, live, straight out of my current rig. I'm out here in Europe right now doing a few festivals and giving these babies a test spin... Here's a fan shot clip from Romania: czcams.com/video/PTSPyNDbOhk/video.html These are the only guitars I took with me this time... That's how much confidence I have in them and their tone.

Just bought one of these. It’s got a good bit of fret buzz when tuned out of the box at a few different strings/frets. I have done nothing but tune it. No professional set up. But my other guitars don’t have this problem and I haven’t really done set ups on them. Is that normal to have feet buzz out of the box (a few high/low frets when testing with a straight edge). Trying to decide on keeping or returning the guitar. Thanks!

Joey is right - if you've ever wanted an LP Custom, you owe it to yourself to get one... but be quick. Gibson are trying very hard (and succeeding) to impress with their Epiphone 'inspired by Gibson' line atm, as they are in the process of repositioning Epiphone in the market by creating what amount to 'quality bargain' versions of Gibson originals. I doubt prices will stay this low once they have finished doing this. The Epi Custom is top notch and an absolute steal for the current price.

And I wasn't even using my own rig. I thought the Epi's did great their first time out with me, and you really get used to the neck profile quickly. Didn't even cross my mind during the set, and I felt comfortable.

An lp custom made in the custom shop is a far cry from standard usa. standard usa is most definitely not worth the money and an mij tokai is much better than gibson or epiphone. But a custom shop is better than all of them and lp customs only come from there.
