Also, the Bridegroom's father Mukesh Ambani is not a rich spoiled businessman who just likes to show off. After taking over his father business empire he made a name for himself by increasing the wealth multiple times. Before this he launched Jio - an Indian telecom company that gave free and later inexpensive internet to Indians. That company was later handed over to his other son. This makes me think that even this wedding is a part of him handing over his responsibilites and giving his children a chance to make new connections. This is a little old thing to do but maybe that's what he wanted to do. So obviously, him spending 1% of his wealth should not make people feel jealous or hate him.

As an indian I know everything, they are called the Ambani's with Mukesh Ambani, his wife Nita Ambani and their 3 children. They live in a 25+ story house. They are the richest people in India and one of the richest in Asia. They have met many celebrities around the world for ex. To be honest, I didn't even know who these people were until the wedding became a trending topic. That aside, to those who keep asking this couple to donate their fortune to charity: donating money to charity isn't going to help solve poverty. Poverty can only be erradicated by removing excessive laws that are only an unnecessary burden to the common people as well as fully moving on from the outdated caste system. I have friends from India that tell me everything they and their parents have been through, particularly how difficult it is to open a business, the bureaucracy is like competing with other countries' systems to see which one is more of a pain in the -ss. It varies from state to state but in all of them, it's a huge headache, almost African-level pain.

But it’s really hard not to judge people who have more money than most people can even fathom for spending money the way they do when that money could change so many lives in such epic ways. It’s hard to watch people literally blow money like this when people are starving and there are countless little girls and young women stuck in the cycle of poverty because they can’t go to school, because they have to spend hours every day walking miles and miles to get water for their families, and if they don’t then they’ll literally have nothing to drink. And despite their epic amount of work as well as sacrificing their education and any chance of escaping poverty as adults, that water is still barely drinkable. This couple alone could stop that cycle. Look, I get it’s their money and they can spend it any way that they want. But when regular people like my husband and I, as well as countless others like us, try to do our part to help those that need it, it blows my mind when billionaires don’t do everything that they can.
