  • Hello friends! In this video I have shared my favourite cookware and small kitchen appliances which make my life easy in the kitchen. The reviews are totally based on my experience with them over years. As Diwali is just around the corner some of you must be planning to buy new kitchen items. This video can be helpful in deciding what items to buy and which brand. Also, this can be helpful for newly marrieds or those who are just starting up their new kitchen and don’t know what cooking essentials to buy.
    Hope you enjoy watching it!

By far, till now, there has not been a single video which doesn't have something new, something to learn. The takeaway tip from this video was "Season cast iron utensils". Probably many woul know how to make them non-stick by applying oil and onion, but how to prepare them for their use was definitely many wouldn't know about. Definitely one more video from your playlist is going in my favorites. Thumbs up 👍👍

With the use of regular liquid utensil cleaners and scrubber it will, you need to use steel scrubber and the utensil soap bars for that. I have been using iron kadhai for 5 years now and it is as good as new. Use lemon and pumice stone once a week at least. Give it a good scrub. It stays good for a long time. Cast iron is naturally black and stays black but it should not look greasy necessarily so the technique of cleaning is important. Hope this helps.

Mam why cast iron utensil is seasoned with onion initially?

    • @SimplifyYourSpace
      @SimplifyYourSpace  Před 4 lety +18

Dear this is the process to season the cast iron when you use it for the first time. Onions (and all alliums) contain many sulfur compounds which is why you cry when cutting them. These compounds when heated react with bare metal to form a hard, non-stick sulfide layer. This sulfide layer is rock hard to 1000°F.

Nice video wat difference between cast iron and normal iron pan

    • @SimplifyYourSpace

Iron is the pure metal and Cast
Iron is an alloy of Iron and more than 1.5% carbon (steel is an alloy of iron
and less than 1.5% carbon). Iron is soft and becomes even softer when heated, so it doesn't make for
good pots and pans. Adding from about 0.3% -1.5% carbon takes you into the realm of the iron
alloy, steel. The lower to the higher percent of carbon produces a softer to
harder steel. More than 1.5% of carbon produces the iron alloy, cast iron. It is harder
than steel but comparatively brittle. In spite of its being somewhat brittle,
cast iron is an excellent material for pots and pans because it evenly diffuses
and retains heat. The drawback is that iron rusts, so the pots and pans must be
coated with oil and baked. This protects the bare iron from the oxygen which
      causes rust.

The pots with handles will take too much space in the refrigerator.
