  • This cute baby ❤️ doesn’t have the most caring mother ever. 😢 He is looking at her with so much love and reaching towards her. But I don’t see Effie cuddling or patting her baby.😢😢 Maybe she’ll improve and become a loving and caring mother? 🙏🙏

Effie is becoming more caring and loving mother. Seems like she really had postpartum depression before.

This baby gorilla is just so cute and gorgeous 🥰 I just want to hold him and smother him with 💋‘s. It takes time for some gorilla mothers to bond with their children - some even reject them 😢 Hopefully this Mother and Son will bond soon with lots of love and care 😘 I will visit London Zoo soon and see you little fella - love you all ❤

She doesn’t seem to be too enthusiastic about the baby 😢😢

Maybe she is really tired or has postpartum depression...I hope she'll get better soon so she can take a good care of her baby.

I read somewhere yesterday that the birth was quite worrying. I can't remember exactly but I think the umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck. The staff had to watch them constantly incase it tightened. It eventually fell off. So I'm thinking she does look depressed, maybe a bit of traumatic reaction. That's my guess but yes she doesn't seem to like it very much.

This isn’t the only video where this mother gorilla constantly pushes her baby away.
In contrast, the other mother gorilla closely holds her baby.

Thank you for watching and for your comment! Both mothers are taking good care of their babies now. Maybe it was postpartum depression...

My guess is that the zoo will intervene? Mama seems depressed, is rejecting baby when baby looks to her, and moves in her direction, and mama pushes baby away. Baby is 3 months old, and mama is showing no real interest in her baby. Three months is a little bit much to continue watching both of them in distress.

I hope the zoo keepers keep an eye on everyone in the troop to make sure everything is ok!

Mom is not so loving and affectionate towards her baby. I am not sure because Bing in Zoo they lose their natural ways of taking care of their babies. They really need to be in their normal habitat not in zoos

Thank you for watching and for your comment. To justify the London Zoo: these gorillas have a large territory covered with evergreen grass. There are many bushes, trees and a zone for games. They also have a room closed from the eyes of visitors. Gorillas like to come to the glass aviary and look at the visitors. This is entertainment not only for the people but also for gorillas. They know that people admire them.

Mothers are often tired, they can't talk. Because they are animals doesnt mean
anything. We humans are tired too..

I agree. Of course they can get tired too. I hope they will be feeling better soon!
