Habib Koité does not need an introduction; he is among the most popular and recognized folk musicians of Mali. West African folk legend Habib Koité has amused the audience worldwide through the decades. The perfectionist Habib Koité draws on styles from the different regions of Mali by integrating rock and folk sounds of the Western world without toning down his Malian root and music. He along with his band Habib Koité & Bamada performed on the second day of ‘Dhaka International FolkFest 2019’. It was a serene experience for the crowd of DIFF 2019 to sway with the wonderful orchestra.
An initiative of Sun Foundation; ‘Dhaka International FolkFest’ is a celebration of sheer musical brilliance where myriads of folk artistes from home and abroad perform on a single platform.
মালি’র লোকসংগীতের জীবন্ত কিংবদন্তি হাবিব কইটে দুই দশকেরও বেশি সময় ধরে শ্রোতাদের মাতিয়ে রেখেছে। তাঁর ব্যান্ড বামাদাকে নিয়ে তিনি পারফর্ম করেছেন বিশ্বের বড় বড় সব মঞ্চে। হেমন্তের সন্ধ্যায় হাবিব কইটে’র গিটারের মূর্ছনা জমজমাট করে তুলেছিল ‘ঢাকা ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ফোকফেস্ট ২০১৯’ এর আয়োজন।
সান ফাউন্ডেশনের উদ্যোগে আয়োজিত ‘ঢাকা ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ফোকফেস্ট’ লোকসংগীতের এক মিলনমেলা। এ উৎসবে বিশ্বের নানা প্রান্তের লোকসংগীত শিল্পীদের পরিবেশনায় অসাধারণ সব লোকগান শোনার সুযোগ পায় বাংলাদেশের মানুষ।
