    Well it took retirement and the corona virus but I finally set about figuring some of this stuff out. I picked up a DMC.micro to use with the Enzo in A, a SourceAudio C4 in B and an expression pedal in the multijack. After a couple of sessions trying to figure these things out I've updated my D/A firmware, configured properly (I hope) the DMC.micro and, thanks to this video, got my Enzo working correctly. Now off to the C4 video....This is my first time using midi and I'm old, not stupid, just old and with plenty trial and error I got it working. It did take me a couple of days to understand the switches and how they interact on the micro but I got it. Thanks!

    I have a Strymon Dig v2 and am trying to control it through the MultiJack. All dip switches are set to on and I am able to make program changes to the Dig, however it is not receiving MIDI clock. I should mention I configured the Dig to receive MIDI clock. The DMC-6 Gen3 manual specifies how to send MIDI out while not sending out MIDI clock, but never how to do both... How can I configure that jack to send MIDI and MIDI clock?

    • @DisasterAreaDesigns
      @DisasterAreaDesigns  Před 4 lety +7

      Not sure what you're asking - if you want to edit and save a preset on the Enzo or any Meris pedal first load the preset slot you want to change. For example 11. Then you turn the knobs on the pedal and hold down the LED over the left footswitch on the Meris pedal (ALT.) The pedal will save the current settings in that slot, so the next time you load up preset 11 you'll get what you saved.

    Hi- I'm using a DMC-8 with an Enzo (well literally just configured them) and am wondering if it is possible to still use the Meris expression function using one of the expression jacks (on Meris pedals the expression can flow between two completely different knob positions for multiple controls at once- so it could sweep the Filter and Pitch controls at the same time )?

    • @DisasterAreaDesigns
      @DisasterAreaDesigns  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes, you can use the other 1/4" jack on the DMC for an expression pedal. If you choose the DMC.micro instead, you should get a 5P-TRS PRO cable to connect the Meris pedal to the main MIDI output. That will leave the MultiJack free for an expression pedal. Cheers!

    I'm new to configuring these types of devices. Right now, I'm trying to get my DMC6 Gen 3 with 1.05h firmware to scroll and bypass my meris enzo as shown in this video. I've gone through all settings. I have the MJ1 (red) set to MIDI and ch1 with ch1 set to ABC and DevA set as Meris. I've also configured the enzo as shown in the video. When I hook everything up, I cannot get bypass or scroll to work. I'm sure I'm missing something small. The one thing I did notice in the setup on the dmc 3 shown here is a SCRL setting which I can't find on the DMC6 setup menu. Maybe I'm missing something with engaging scroll on my particular device?

    • @DisasterAreaDesigns
      @DisasterAreaDesigns  Před 2 lety

      The DMC-6 / 8 don't have the SCRL setting as their modes are arranged differently. Double check the DIP switches in the DMC, make sure your port is set to ON-ON-ON-OFF, it's marked on the board and in the manual. Newer units have cutouts in the lid to access the DIPS, but for older ones you remove the lid to change them.

      @DisasterAreaDesigns  Před 3 lety

      Sure. Set the expression pedal to the heel position, turn the knobs on the pedal the way you want them. Set the expression to the toe position and "wiggle" the knobs to capture their positions. Now you should hear no change from heel to toe. Once you get that, go back to the toe position and turn the one knob you want to control. That's it.

      @@DisasterAreaDesigns so there's no way to assign a specific CC# message? say I wanted to control the filter cutoff regardless of what preset i'm in..
      and while I'm at it; did I understand this correctly,? on the HX Stomp an expression pedal connected through the dmc is assigned to one of the EXP slots and therefore it's not possible to use both EXP1/2 (or FS4/5) directly? with other words: I can't use three exp pedals at the same time for different tasks? HI, I have a question : can I control 2 meris pedals without adding a midibox, for example if I plug an Y TRS cable on the multijack output, and then sending two TRS from the y cable inside the two meris pedals, would that work ( and the two pedals would use different midi channels of course )
    thanks a lot

    • @DisasterAreaDesigns
      @DisasterAreaDesigns  Před 3 lety

      Yes. For the DMC-3XL / 4 / 6 / 8 / DPC-5 Gen3 you should put the center of the Y in the first Meris pedal, the "tip" side of the Y in the DMC / DPC, and the "ring" in the second Meris pedal. For our other controllers like the DMC.micro, MIDI Baby, MIDI Baby 3 you can do this or you can put the center of the Y in the DMC and use the tip and ring for each pedal.

      So the pedal setup mode on the Meris devices allows you to set their MIDI channels. Set your second and third Meris pedals to channels 2 and 3, then configure your DMC to send to devices B and C. Depending on your DMC you may need a Y-cable or a MIDIBox to interface more than 2 Meris pedals.

    • @DisasterAreaDesigns
      @DisasterAreaDesigns  Před 3 lety +5

      You're totally right, it should be able to recognize any pedal ever made, including future ones. But due to the way MIDI works, that will never be possible on pre MIDI 2.0 devices. So we've done the best we can, and some form of "setup crap" is required on EVERY MIDI device. Sorry it's not a one-step process, but if it were we wouldn't have to make these videos for you to comment on.
