Makeup for people who wear glasses, would be really helpful! 🤓 Different frames too! I wear oversized glasses, and it gets tough to know how to place makeup for certain occasions. So I mostly stick to neutral tones/soft looks. If I really want to go "all out" that's when I'll wear contact lenses (but they are so uncomfortable and dry my eyes so I'd rather not 😭).
I heard if you put powder on the nose part of the glasses then it should stop transfer! I’m also an oversized glasses wearer so this works for me but im not sure about what it’d be like for you! worth a shot :)
Loose powder is more blurring and offers a more "matte" appearance. Pressed powder offers a more "skin like" appearance, blurs, & is more convenient but not as effective.
I heard a makeup artist say that pressed powders don’t set as well as loose powders though. She said they’re more finishing powders to give the skin a specific look.
@@HunainaNadeem55 if you have dry skin its probably better to use translucent pressed powder. While a more oily skin would benefit from a loose powder, which gives a stronger matte affect
@purpleeuphoria7996 I don't really think it matters what a dry skin person uses. I have dry skin and I prefer using loose powder because of their setting ability (I have creases I want to decrease the appearance of) and you can control how much you use. I use a puff to pack powder under my eyes, smile lines and nose and a fluffy brush to disperse powder around the rest of my face. Tldr: it depends on what you want it to do and not so much about skin type
@@lunalee1320 I didn't say you can't, and as someone with dry skin I also love using loose powder when I'm going all out with my makeup or going matte with it. However for the skin it's better to tailor what you use on it, especially a beginner or someone who doesn't have much experience. When I use loose powder I know to avoid the driest part of my face cause other wise the skin can peel off, but thats after a few years of doing makeup. I just assumed someone asking which powder to use doesn't have too much experience therefor the advice is for beginners but you can absolutely use whichever powder you like or works for you
I have to comment about the mica though. It was dugged in the middle east where they hire children to mine it up. I heard about this from a documentary on CZcams if you wanna search for it yourselves
I just binged almost all of your videos. Trust me, I never say this often. You are the best “makeup guru” out there. Your tutorials are literally most helpful, very easy to follow through and correctly explained. You’re smart, beautiful and talented❤. God bless you.
A pressed powder vs loose is more than just packaging. Girl😂😂😂😂 Loose powder sets foundation and pressed is waterless foundation and pressed powder in one. It allows you to refresh your foundation on the go.
Not all pressed powders are foundation though, like the translucent pressed powder I showed which will only set your makeup. It has to specifically say “powder foundation”.
@@slaybyjessalthough pressed and loose are still different. Pressed powder has solid or liquid binders in it. If you try to press a loose powder more than likely it would crumble as soon as the alcohol evaporates. It is possible to repress broken up pressed powder even without any alcohol bc of the binders it in but with alcohol it would be pretty solid. Also a lot of times loose powder is more finely milled although that’s just a general thing.
I seen a post recently about the Charlotte Tilbury powder. It was a Mua and he was saying everybody is using it wrong it is just for the face not under the eyes and it's actually a finishing powder not setting powder.
I feel like it’s just kinda trendy right now and also a lot of influences like to bake so they have to use loose for that. I don’t think either is necessarily better than the other
I just found you and instantly subscribed!🥰 I love how you explain things, so easy to follow, and try. Just wishing you were my age (sorry😁 so selfish🤣) then you could give “over 50” tips. That doesn’t mean I won’t try everything……🤫 I have a quick question, everyone is saying not to use a shimmer eyeshadow when you have wrinkles, but would this Huda Setting Powder with mica be OK for my under eyes? I had a concussion last year and they’re still both very dark underneath. I’ve bought 20+ products to try to hide it and it’s mission impossible. (for daily wear, I can hide it with stage makeup, but that is no bueno in person🤭) This pink is so gorgeous on you, of course I want to try it. ;) Thx💕💕💕
Can you use a finishing powder like No 7 Flawless finishing pressed powder for setting your makeup and or your under eyes instead of a loose setting powder?
From levels 1-10, with 1 being a complete noob to 10 being a pro, I'd say I'm a level 3. I thought a setting powder had something special in it that makes the makeup stay in place. Thank you for this, all my questions are answered 😊
Compact powder makes me look fairer, which makes it different from my neck color. 😂. I wana make my face non-oily so which one should I use n not make me look like iv put on foundation powder. 😅I need a powder with no color watsoever.
I'm a light oily girl and I use huda beauty powder in translucent. I love the Huda beauty because it controls my oil but doesn't make me look dry under the eyes. If u want something more affordable I also use the Maybelline fit me powder. I'm not sure they have a translucent shade so I wear the shade light. Hope that helps..but if u can afford the Huda Beauty it is a life changer!!
I might be ignorant, but I find makeup companies to be a huge scam. They come up with new products and make people believe each one has a different function, all of them ultimately do the same, which is set and matify. People really don't need to have so many products.
Wait she just lied there’s a huge difference between lose and pressed powder especially the way the product picks up and lays down! Translucent powder is in the same category as lose powder and there’s no difference expect the pigment.

The loose powder cakes under my nose clips. Halp 😅

TYSM THIS WAS SOOO HELPFUL
I'm so glad! 💕

Minor correction: in india not the middle east
And unfortunately, loads of companies take advantage of child labor 💔
However, there is lab grown mica, if its listed in the ingredients list as “synthetic fluorphlogophite”, thats the same as lab grown mica

I appreciate this so much. When you look at makeup its so hard to read the ingredients. So this is helpful to see it in samples and pictures. Thanks
That brightening powder is stunning!
Wow! That was extremely helpful. I now know what I REALLY need to buy.
I’m so glad to hear that! 🥺🥰

Not necessarily, some pressed powders aren’t waterless foundation… think about a pressed translucent powder.

@@slaybyjess Even the Charlotte tilbury one isn’t necessarily a powder foundation although it is tinted, right?

Yess, also what are these lashes you're wearing?? They look perfect for my eye shape
Literally, thank you
First time i subscribed to a beauty content channel cuz i genuinely feel like you give good knowledge to makeup noobies like me
Actually loose powder can be easily recognised on camera and looks like white chalk layer after sometime..
So what would be the difference, if any, between a setting powder and a finishing powder?
Thanks for letting us know.
i noticed a lot of beauty influencers love to use loose powder than pressed powder so i wonder if it's better than pressed one?
I feel like it’s just kinda trendy right now and also a lot of influences like to bake so they have to use loose for that. I don’t think either is necessarily better than the other

is it just me when i set my foundation with loose powder it tend to look cakey but pressed powder look fine
Do I have to use setting powder if I've used the setting spray and vice versa?
Charlotte Tilbury is not a setting powder it’s a finishing powder, there is a difference. You use this after setting
Thank you, I am dumb with makeup :)
When i tried putting loose mineral powder with a brush to set my face it turns out cakey.. am i using the wrong powder?
I get talc free powders.
For oily skin ?
Have you tried Mary Kay products I’m a Mary Kay consultant
False. Charlett tilbury powder is a finishing powder not setting powder. Loose powder is typically for setting.
