- To kick off Hospitality Design magazine's HDTV series, editor in chief Stacy Shoemaker Rauen joins Rockwell Group founder David Rockwell at the CIVILIAN Hotel in New York. Opened in fall 2021, the 203-room property from hotelier Jason Pomeranc of SIXTY Hotels fame draws from beloved, long gone Theater District hangouts like Café Edison and Stage Door Canteen, as well as Rockwell's own deep relationship with theater-as both a fan and set designer for hit shows like Hairspray and Kinky Boots.
Holy cow!! I'm performing at Carnegie and found this artistic Hotel and fell in love with the aesthetic. Although, the website doesn't do the theatre district justice. I thought this was a WW2 1940's themed hotel. After watching this....I'm sad I didn't book my stay longer. Looking forward to this experience.

Second week of November. After I re-read my post it's written as if I had already been there. It was more of a commentary to the video tour. Still looking forward to it.
