“‘You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take’ -Wayne Gretzky” -Michael Scott
"I don't have any, asshole" - Kelly on job interview for manager when asked what her weakness's were.
Hilarious 😂
These are even funnier when you know the characters and understand the context - like Michael HAAAATES Toby, the HR manager.
Ricky Gervais and Steven Merchant created The UK version of the show and sold the TV rights to the American producers of the show. They are credited in the show open as a contractual obligation but they had very little involvement in the American version. They did write 1 episode and Ricky had a cameo in another episode, but that's it.
I never would have gotten the hidden context that Michael hates Toby with such subtle remarks as "If I had a gun with two bullets and I was in a room with Toby Hitler and Bin Laden I would shoot Toby twice."
@@VolatileSupernova Still hits 1000% better with context.
I was a late Comer to The Office. The first season of 6 episodes is kinda tough to watch because there has never been a character like Michael Scott. Then, the series made Michael 10% more likable and the series took off. Believe it or not you will eventually fall in love with him. Genius writing and great acting by all involved.
Man, those first initial episodes are HILARIOUS. The basketball one etc.
You'll want to cover "Jim Pranks Dwight"
The phone headset prank to this day is my absolute favorite scene of the Office. "Then one day I just........took them all out." 😂😂😂😂😂😂
This was Great! The Office is Great! I recommend watching the office on your own time its well worth it!
The reason why he yelled “NO NO NOOO” is because he hated the Human Resources guy Toby. Toby left the office (the character, not the actor), but then he returned. Michael thought they were joking. He went to Toby’s desk. Not there. Turns around and there he is. That’s when he yelled no.
Read somewhere that Michael probably hates Toby only bc he heard David Wallace joke that all managers hate HR and he took it to heart that as manager he should absolutely hate Toby :p
@@caiawren6100 I think he hated him already before David Wallace was there :D
@@caiawren6100 Pretty sure he hated Toby because he got divorced while having a kid. Michaels parents got divorced and he was always so mad about it, it really fucks with children. Michael mentiones his divorce a lot to Toby.
Oh and he was extra nice to Tobys daughter on bring your daughters to work day. Even asked if she had a godfather.
Ricky wasn’t just an Executive Producer. He created the show.
"Don't use the good peanut butter, Dwight, everyone will hate you!" Pam knows people.
The first seasons of the office is still great. Comedy gold
Michael Scott has to be the most un-self aware character on television.
If no one pointed it out yet the creepy character named Creed was in The Grass Roots a very poplar band during mid sixties through early seventies. Creed was with them in their early days. If you have not yet reacted to them you should. Lots of hits including -Temptation Eyes, Live For Today, I’d Wait A Million Years and Midnight Confessions.
Did not know that. Great band. Thanks for sharing.
I just watched a reaction to Temptation Eyes a few hours ago. I love that song. The Grass Roots was a great band.
“The Office”, “Its Always Sunny”, “Parks and Rec”, “Trailer Park Boys” and even “Letterkenny” are all iconic shows. There are a few others like “What We Do In The Shadows” but these 5 are the best sitcoms of the last 25 years.
Oh “Curb Your Enthusiasm” is another one.
Once in the 9th grade I was dating a girl and we both fell asleep but I had gum in my mouth. We woke up and it was stuck in her very long hair. Her mother used peanut butter to get it out while I sat there with my head buried in my hands the entire time. It does work is my point lol
The Office is fabulous over and over.
I was born in Scranton, PA. Lived in neighboring town Dunmore, PA. I would love a boss like Michael Scott
Not "Steve Carroll". "Steve CuhRell".
Basic English. Carrel. Mind blown they’d pronounce that as carol.
Ron Swanson from Parks & Recreation was even more crazy.
Well that's just not true at all. Great character but nonfactual statement.
@@derpderpin1568 Lol. Now THAT'S funny!!!
The Office was done like no other series. And there was something very organic and magical about how the production came together. It was set up as a fake documentary about an office, Dunder Mifflin paper in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
They went out of their way to showcase Scranton, stocking the vending machine with local goods, having menus from the restaurants hanging on the bulletin board in the break room, stickers from the local radio stations on filing cabinets, mentioning local landmarks like the Steamtown mall, etc. They had a farewell party in Scranton, Pennsylvania at the baseball stadium with thousands of Office fans.
The cameras were free to move around. Of course, they followed the action, but the camera operators had a huge amount to do with the way the stories were told.
Because the office was wide open, and all of the characters could be visible at any time the actors were on the set all of the time as opposed to regular TV and movies, where they are shot scene by scene, and and everything is broken up, and they often retire off a set and wait for hours in their trailers.
There was a synchronicity in this production you don’t find often. Things seemed to go their way as far as the actual production of the show went. They knew they had something special.
As far as the network went it was a huge struggle. The first season was a small pick up of six episodes, and the net work rode roughshod over the scripts. The second season is when they started to come into their own. Several Nettwerk executives felt very hard to keep the series on the air. They were in the minority.
Another example of synchronicity: The three people who played accountants knew each other from improv. Oscar, Angela and Brian were shocked to see each other on the first day of filming. None of them had known, the others were cast.
John Krasinski, who has gone on to a huge career, was so excited to be hired on his first big break that the next day he drove from New York to Scranton, Pennsylvania to take a look at it, and he filmed the Scranton sign as he drove into the city. He showed it to the producer Greg Daniels and Daniels said we have to have this for the opening credits, and that footage of the Scranton sign was shot by John Krasinski, who played Jim Halpert.
It was Mindy Kaling’s first professional writing job. She transformed her character over the course of the series and of course she has a big career as well
Creed Bratton, who played Creed on the series is a rock guitarist from a very successful group in the 60s called The Grass Roots. He got his job on the show as an extra at first, just occupying a desk. But one day he improved a line that was very funny, and he ended up as a regular character, with a very dubious background inspired by creeds, incredible zany ride as a rockstar in the 60s.
The writers were on the set (rarely in other series, do writers and actors even have contact with each other on a daily basis, ) and three of the writers were in the series. Toby, played by Paul Lieberstein, Ryan played by BJ Novak, and Kelly played by Mindy Kaling.
Their producers and writers also worked together, much more closely with the actors, asking them what they wanted to see for their characters.
The Office was really lightning in a bottle. They knew they would have to deviate from the British version because they were going to make so many more shows. They had to make Michael Scott much more vulnerable and competent as a salesman as opposed to Ricky Gervais’s character, David, Brent, in the original British office.
It is an absolutely amazing series, like nothing you’ve ever seen. I have a Dunder Mifflin cup at work where I register people for emergency and I cannot tell you how many people love that cup, crack a smile, say how much they love the show and wish it was still in production.
The characters make the show so even though these clips were funny, they are much funnier when you actually know the characters. They were unforgettable. They are unforgettable.
There is a new version coming. But it will not be the same cast or characters. The same producer Greg Daniels is helming the show.
Truly, you are missing out on something special if you do not watch the office. It’s surprising to me how popular it is with really young people right now.
In 2020 the series racked up 57 point something billion streaming minutes worldwide. Putting it in the top 10.
The office is such a gem of a show. Unfortunately with how sensitive the world is now of days. It would never fly. At least we can go back and rewatch the entire series (like most fans do)
Cure for gum in the hair - I've heard you can freeze it by holding an ice cube against it and then it becomes brittle and you can break it off. Haven't tried it, though.
Please watch full episodes in order
Y’all should react to the whole show! Haha. It took me like 4 times to get into it but once u busy past the first season it’s glory! And then u appreciate u beginning on rewatch:)
First season is incredible. Always a bad narrative when people say it's not good.
I'm surprised you guys haven't heard about using peanut butter when you get gum stuck in your hair. Its interesting how it works, peanuts/peanut butter has a compound molecule called "4rE3s-oris" that works by utilizing the Florigane Process of detrouserification, which in turn carbonates the oils with the carotene found in hair. This detrouserification of the 4rE3s-oris molecule allows it to flow from the positron position of the center void and into the delta position allowing the oils to penetrate the rosin beds by simply removing the cork backing plate. Once the backing plate is removed removal of the gum can commence. Its recommended to completely coat the entire head in peanut butter and massage it in so no positrons can escape and its also better for the rosin beds in the long run, especially the cork ones. Now just flush all the PB from the head and gum regions and repeat the slathering process three more times or until all the gum is removed.
You lost me in the third line there but yeah, peanut butter definitely works.
That’s what she said.
I always turned my nose up at the office. During Lockdowns I binged this show. It is one of the best shows you’ll ever watch. Like JoJo Rabbit it’s so ridiculous and so funny throughout your so caught up for the emotional moments and they just punch you in the gut. Highlight videos are a bad idea. The first season is 6 22minute episodes. Just watch that and decide.
Dinner For Schmucks is my favorite Carell movie.
The cow thing is basically a pointless object that is circular and you turn it upside down and it makes different noises depending on which one you get😂. they have them for deer too
Omg, not familiar with The Office?!?! You have quite the rabbit hole to go down! One of the greatest shows ever. I've watched it through and through multiple times, and I don't watch much "TV". This barely scratched the surface.
Props for watching hockey tho, greatest sport ever.
Steve Carell in Little Miss Sunshine is a gift. Thanks for sharing. Peace, all 💕
Haha, he thinks that in order to declare bankruptcy...you literally have to DECLARE it loudly! 😂
Not only have I never had gum in my hair, I've never experienced someone getting gum in their hair. Besides someone being a Richard, how does that even happen, also, how does peanut butter help.
"Is that what you're supposed to do when you get gum in your hair?" Sam - "Every time I've just cut it out." Good lord, how many times has that happened to you, Samantha? One time I was playing guitar in a band on stage at a gig. I had long hair back then. I guy I knew from another band that played that night snuck up behind me and pressed gum in my hair as a joke and I didn't realize until after the show. I had to go to the concession area and ask for ice to harden it. They poured a little veg oil over it and it came out. No way was I cutting my hair! Love you guys, great video!
Peanut butter definitely works too. I thought everyone knew that.
@@terri2494 Not everyone. I had no idea that ice and oil worked either, at the time.
10:50 I've heard of it for when you get gum stuck in the carpet (never tried it) but not for hair.
Context really helps with these clips, but its hilarious either way!
You can't get the show like that without content
I highly recomend you watch in - funniest on tv
The oils in peanut butter do work wonders on removing gum from hair.
Yeah but then what do you use to get peanut butter out of your hair? Gasoline?
Hi Guys Greetings from England 🇬🇧 The Office was an English comedy series written by and starring Ricky Gervais as David Brent and the American Office is based on the english office and Michael Scott is also based on David Brent and you should also check out original English The Office.
Highly recommend you guys binge it if you can. It lives up to the hype.
office is best comedy ever made
This guy is mad jokes. My son showed me a few episodes and they're hilarious 😂
Ah hell you guys have to react to The Office now. Season 1 is a little strange but after that its a great show. You both seemed to have enjoyed Micheal Scott in this video so I think you'd like the comedy style of The Office. Its time for you guys to react to a full TV series. Do it !!
Yes to the peanut butter removing gum from hair. It's the oil.
Every time Sam just cuts out the gum stuck in her hair? How often does this happen?
One of the best television shows of all time!
I have done the peanut butter gum thing twice on my daughter’s hair 😊
Yes, peanut butter will work to get gum out. The oil in the peanut butter loosens up the gum.
I wish u 2 would react to the whole series 😂😂😂😂
Without context you miss a lot. You need to watch from the second season and onward. The 1st season is a little rough and none of the characters had not became themselves yet.
Peanut Butter 100% helps gum out of hair because of the oils in it
The office was created by Ricky Gervais. The American sitcom is a spin-off of the UK version.*
I know you have to obscure the video in order to get it posted but at this point I can’t even tell what’s going on.
Never watched the US version , I always assumed the main character would have been called David Brent like the UK original
You have to watch the best of Dwight he’s probably the best character in the show 😂😂
You neeed to get the office 3 epesode 😂😂😂
React to the whole thing. 2nd best comedy show of all time.
daaame yall should have just watched the show . it builds up and becomes even funnier
10:40 "Every time I've just cut it out"?
How often do you have gum in your hair?
You can't watch a best-of video on a show you have never seen; you miss all the context.
The Office is probably my favorite. It is so good. The first season wasn't quite up to par, as it was really trying to mimic the original Office. But as it went on, it hit it's stride for about 5 seasons straight. The final seasons after season 6, were a mixture of torment and gold, it really was a mixed bag of greatness or crap. Some of the best episodes were in the last few seasons, but it wasn't consistent and some characters that were great, they threw them under the bus and made you hate them. Even then though, they usually course corrected and overall The Office stands alone.
Parks and Rec is similar, but very different. It is a pretty good substitute for The Office, after you've watched The Office so many times you can quote the lines.
Producer was Bill Cosby. Lol
You should do a comparison with the BBC Office. Show the best of David Brent the character played by Ricky Gervais.
check out The Band and The Staples--"The Weight"
The Office is a great series .. but I don't think these were the best clips - especially for new people watching it. I would check out a couple of different collections
Doesn’t everyone use inflections in their voice for expression?
Watching compilations of clips from a show with no context is always a bad idea.
Best show ever!! Michael Scott is just an oblivious, hilarious idiot. 😂😂
Never watched this… I don’t really like remakes… and the original was so good!
Ricky Gervais!
Do me next!
It seems you are watching the wrong show. The Uk show actually have funny persons 😋😎🇧🇻
You can’t watch this without any context
Compilations like this really just don't make sense for a show with a TON of continuity like The Office. Without context none of it hits the same.
The Office was okay, just didn't get into it. Maybe because it reminded me of people I worked with or for over the years.
There are too many "I Love Lucy" moments, so ridiculous to believe any human is that stupid, that I can't watch most episodes.
Why does the video look like that?
Why watch any other show when The office will suffice.
Oil
NOT everyone....I tried to watch it, but it's too stupid for me.................
I found it stupid, not funny. I was a minority in my family though
I’ve never been a fan of the office. The funny thing is I love Steve Carell, and I think he’s really funny but his character in this show annoys me a lot.
Probably not the best way to get into a show. You don't get the context on 90% of the clips.
Unpopular opinion. Especially because 40 Year Old Virgin is my favorite comedy.
I think Jim and Creed are both WAY funnier than Michael Scott.
The first three seasons of the American Office are great. Starting in season 4, it got campy and sentimental and ott,, but a lot of people dig that kind of thing (maybe the same people who thought Full House was hilarious?) But Carell is super talented as an actor. He’s improv trained and makes interesting and often hilarious choices. He also did a few seasons on the Daily Show and was funny there, too.
You can't just watch this out of context.
Without context what's the point in watching 'best of' type shit?!
This is depressing lol
Steve carol huh? Trying pretty hard to act like you haven’t heard Carrel before. Lame
The Office is good, but I loved Parks & Rec.
The Office was good for a couple of seasons but it quickly wore out it's welcome. It changed from a comedy to a rom-com.
The Office was somewhat lame the first season and perhaps part of the 2nd. It wasn't really until the end of the 2nd beginning of the 3rd season that it finally hit it's stride.
The latest in a LONG list of foreign shows butchered by the Yanks. Watch the British original if you want to see something that is actually funny.
Best tv show of all time
