Mr. Pabrai you are going to put MBA programs right out of business with all this great free content!
ikr
so true Brad!
Brad I think Monish is trying to out do the amount of content you put out in your channel. So watch out. :D
Well said!
brad, waiting for your review of these ideas as well :)
Love seeing Mohnish youtube notifications on my phone and love the fact that I’ve been seeing much more of them lately
Serendipity of reading the right book on a flight and go on to become one of the world greatest investor. Loved it! Many thanks Sir!
Can listen to this guy all day long!. Great entrepreneur, thinker, story letter, investor and philanthropist. Overall a great guy. Makes the most of opportunities in the kindest and gentlest of ways.
This is the warm up for the Berkshire meeting.
I'm grateful for these Q&As. Thank you!
This is the great gift Mr. Mohnish thank you so much this wonderful session!
Looks like I am addicted to your talks. Thanks for the talk, some of your cloning ideas have been financially rewarding to me personally.
Mohnish, you are my role model.
Thanks for sharing your wisdom!
Well Mr.Pabrai, I have been trailing you for long long time & the thing I liked most about you is the way you explain things so clearly & in detail which is really Appreciable.
That's one of the biggest Charity you doing to Business Community. Even I want to recycle my wealth ( yet to be created) back to society the way you are doing with Heads & hearts.
Hats Off Mr.Pabrai.
Thanks Mr.Duggal to you too :-)
i cant get enough of these vids Mohnish! thank you
Always waiting for the next talk/ lecture by Mohnish. As usual a great learning . He is helping the investors to become a better investor. Thanks a lot.
Mohnish if you released a 25 hour vid every day, hell or high water I would find time to watch. Never stop!
1.5x speed and we can pull off 36 hours.
@@nishchaypallav my head would explode from so much wisdom then, please no
Wow, so generous!!! Bless you and your family
Thank you so much for the wonderful wisdom.
Thank you Mohnish for sharing your wisdom. 🙏
Waiting for the next one already !!!
As soon as you started talking about the lunch in Omaha with Warren, then in LA with Charlie, and the Debbie stories, you're almost jumping out of your chair. The passion for these guys really shines through. I remember tears coming down my face on Saturday after the meeting thinking about how much I miss being in Omaha. A part of how we feel about these people is passion, respect, admiration, but a big big part of it is real love. Even for those of us like me, who've never had a chance to meet them one on one.
I have learned one very important rule when it comes to finding an undiscovered treasure: Before you tell everyone where it is, make sure you loot the sucker first. This is why Buffett NEVER talks about his investment ideas.
The thing that impresses me about Mohnish is that he really dives into understanding the businesses very deeply. He is able to describe and explain the businesses. He doesn't just find a stock and invest
the stock IS the business grasshopper
Thanks Mohnish . There is a lot of knowledge in this talk . This format is much more interesting . Please stick to this format in your interaction with other B Schools as well
I loved hearing the students picks and the fact Monish asked for them, I find a lot of these videos to be very repetitive, most of the questions and answers and stories are repeated but having the students bring up new ideas was a nice twist.
This is the most hilarious of all of your videos.. thanks for the chuckle..
Christmas all year long. If 2020 is a great year of learning for Mohnish, 2021 is a great year of learning for all of us. :D
That Gogia Pasha poster in the background is, so very, symbolic. Loved it!
Thank you mohnish for this.. love from Bankura, west Bengal ...
Please keep update this type of videos .
Be a learning Machine..Keep Compounding 😄
Thanks Mohnish
Pabrai is very generous with his time !
Great worldly advice!
Thank you for sharing
I see Mohnish talks one after another right after he publishes each of them and there's not a single one you get bored, there's not a single one where he repeats himself or you do not learn something new and on top of that they only get better and better. Mohnish has really cloned even Buffets ability to give more than what you are paying for. Infinite thanks Mohnish!
He repeats himself all the time which is great because it drills in the message 🎧
Thanks Monish for your generosity! I have been benefiting alot from your lectures these days! Your lectures are my Netflix and popcorn these days!
Try Coke & Peanut Brittle 😂
"it's like a buy one get one deal with Charlie...". Hilariously and geniusesly put.
Thank you so much for the glimpse into anylizing those pitches! Its like sitting behind the homeplate watching you contemplate hitting or not ;) I dont even like baseball! 😂🙏🏼
You enrich us.. And help with money too.🙂
In dj kahleds words: another one! Thanks Monish!!
Thanks mohnish 🙏
Loved the asking the students idea. How the next batch of students don't have a 1B market cap limit.
I’m in my mid 40’s never graduated high school. Built a 13,000,000 real estate portfolio by purchasing distressed properties/ bank foreclosures. Just bought my first stocks - 1000 shares of “BABA fits in with my mindset of buying deeply discounted assets. I’m working with approximately $800,000 cash, looking for my next stock to buy. Mohnish is super cool, and appreciate his relaxed vibe. 👍
From where these legends come who dislike these video!!!
Student pitches
1. byd-ca (Toronto)
2. angi
3. copart
4. OLLI
5. danimer scientific and comp rwdc
6. vrm - vroom
7. pd - pager duty
several of those were recent IPOs within 3-4yrs barely profitable, the others way overpriced in my opinion But you do your own research.
i agree, mohnish replied so gentle to these, in my opinion, rediculus suggestions.
alot to learn there on the behavioral level
Actually copart and Olli are good suggestions! Good business models.
I have read ur book name the DHANDHO investor that was amazing book
surprised to see no bio tech
Dear Mohnish, when you read Nick Sleep‘s Nomad letters, did it dawn on you that you described the exact same phenomenon years earlier in the Dhando investor when telling your story of the Patels (lowering the production costs and sharing the cost advantages or rather handing them over to the customers and, by way of doing so, pricing the competitors out of the market)?
Wish someone pitched Ollies
Monish, instead of Room and Carvana, take a look at Shift.
Love you ❤️
Nice session. Would have expected that Monish also pitches for one of his ideas ;-)
He pitches Reysas every other video 😂
where can i find the opening music, so energizing
HI Mohnish,
One of your past holding in India. Kaveri Seeds Company is an example of UBER Cannibal.? .Can you Please share your rationale in it, you promised you would share it when you no longer hold it.
Thank you...!!
Obviously many of the pitches didn't turn out very well. I guess it was a good thing it was a school project and not actually backed by their own money.
In fact, the students who picked the worst performers probably learned the most. Anyway, it was an interesting video, so thanks for sharing!
what are those business/companies students mentioned they studying? i could not get exact names anyone has the list?
Frank wan stole my idea, but it makes me feel better
"Just between us" 18:15
Between us girls here
I see Mohnish and I think of Eklavya from Mahabharat.
pabrai contrasts so well vs the host. authentic confidence vs pretentious
44:00
I am still not able to process it, they have pitched loss making, recently listed companies only olli and copart was good. I mean I still don't get it why they are even looking into businesses with no track record and yet to earn any profits. And they arent great businesses, all of them are gruesome businesses.
Value investing is not private equity.

"Other than marrying me it the best thing that ever happened to her" bahahaha you're killing me! "It starts with me" bahahahha I love it.
GME!!
Sounds is extremely poor quality.
oh boy danimer case $dnmr
A student really said GameStop to this guy …… bruh hahah stop
Pager duty is NOT a first mover. Geez you really don’t know your market when you claim that.
yeah she obviously did not know what she was talking about. pd fails at the it-guy level, i will never advocate pagerduty because i dont want to work outside of the regular schedule, conflict of interest

First comment lol
Love your wisdom Monish. But dont think giving your kids any headstart in a running race is good. Let them compete fairly with everyone else or else they cannot claim they won the race... Nor would anyone respect them. Starting ahead because of your parents is cheating, period.
If anyone is interested in 2-years performance of the stocks the students pitched to Mohnish, here they are (from 03/18/2021 to 09/26/2023 and adjusted to dividends):
19:10 - Boyd Group Services IncTSE (BYD), Return = +4,99% (from 230.49CAD to 242.00CAD per share)
20:45 Angi Inc. (ANGI), Loss= -88.61% (from 16.51$ to 1.88$)
22:25 Copart, INC. (CPRT), Return = +56.81% (from 27.25$ to 42.73$)
26:00 VIVA (1873.HK), Loss= --82.65% (from 7.26HKD to 1.26HKD)
26:50 Ollie's Bargain Outlet Holdings Inc (OLLI), Loss= -12.34% (from 86.01$ to 75.40$)
31:20 Danimer Scientific, INC, Loss = - 96.24% (from 47.84$ to 1.,80$)
32:50 Vroom Inc (VRM), Loss = -97.02% from (35.96$ to 1.07$)
35:35 Pagerduty Inc (PD), Loss = -41.9% from (37.56$ to 21.82$)
And... this is not a joke. It's real values
