The common name for at least some species of shearwater (including the wedge-tailed shearwater) is muttonbird. Apparently the early settlers thought they tasted like mutton.
We are in Lismore so it has been great to see you exploring the Northern Rivers! Really enjoy your adventures and you inspired us to go on a road trip last month to Nindigully and Thallon where we camped overnight near the silos, before heading to Mungindi to see the One Ton Post, Brewarrina to check out the street art then onto Carinda for the David Bowie "Lets Dance" Music festival.

Australia was better to travel around in the 70s and 80s thr council's thought that keeping places free more tourists would spend more in local businesses which was right
