This is incredibly helpful. I was concerned about not having a logical structure with Dart as with Writing with ease, for example. You mentioning using the right number of darts a year makes sense. I'm really hopeful to give it a try

Glad this helped and hope you will like your 1st dart! I always recommend getting 2, because i almost quit with our 1st and the 2nd was much smoother. You got this!

Are the books meant to be read aloud or are they personal readers for the student to read themselves?
Also, All about Spelling is releasing a color edition for levels 1 and 2 soon!

So exciting they are making a color print for All About Spelling! The Brave Writer books that accompany the book guides are chapter books that are meant to be read aloud and discussed (I read them, but we’ve done audiobook before to lighten my load.) My oldest could read them to himself now…so that’s also an option for the future. Buuut, my other kids wouldn’t get in on the family style so for now I want to read it out loud so all can listen in. Once we have kids in two levels reading two diff books (say darts and arrows or darts and boomerangs) I have NO idea how this will work 🥴. Maybe the bigs will read the books on their own and I’ll read the dart books again to my littles. Time will tell!

@@LizBlueandHazel that makes sense! I think I’m going to try a few of the Dart guides this upcoming year with one of my kids but use the book as a read aloud for all of us as well! That’s a great idea. Thank you for sharing 😊
