They were kids back then...18, 16, and 13. This concert was unbelievable.
The Lunario was epic, the first complete performance of QOTMS. The energy is off the charts and Dany slowly turns into the character as the story progresses. There are a few of these songs that were done elsewhere and might sound a bit better, but the passion of this performance is the real attraction. There were a couple of songs between chapters from their first album, XXI Century Blood. This was November 2018, so the girls are 18, 16, and 13! One other thing, this show was in Mexico City, elevation 7350 ft! You may notice they occasionally strain a bit, but man did they deliver!
One thing to understand about The Warning is that all 3 ladies work out how each instrument goes. It is not just Dany working out how the guitar will work. It is all 3 of them- just like the drums and the bass. All 3 work them out together.
One thing that a lot of people don't know is that Dany, Pau and Ale are all involved in writing each and every part of the songs. Pau typically presents a rough version of her idea and they all sit down and discuss the song and how they want to present it. When they develop the drum parts, Ale and Dany are right there with Pau, working together to get things just perfect. The same is true for the guitar, bass and vocal parts- even some of the production and mixing. As they say, all of their collaboration ends up making a product that is definitely their unique sound. I don't think that a lot of bands work that way. They collaborate a lot, but I've seen many where the individual members split off, develop their parts, then come back to mesh them together and hash out the changes. With The Warning, they are all there, together, for the most part. Each of them is remarkably well versed in each other's sound. And Ale will let them know when they're not. LOL! 🤣
13 year old Ale on bass stills blows my mind even after dozens of views!
Ugh was named such because each time they tried to finish it they had trouble. Their dad encouraged them to keep at it. This masterpiece was born. Two other songs came out of the effort - The One and The Sacrifice. Lunario is the reference show for Queen of the Murder Scene songs. However any of these songs from the Teatro Metropolitan concert are even better. You might also consider the version of Dull Knives in the (De)tour concert in the Cave.
“It has a relentlessness to it” might be the most wonderful comment from a reactor of this band that I have heard. Well said.
This album absolutely rocks. I'm down for seeing the whole thing, any way you want to do it. 🙂 This is certainly one that plays different on the studio album - both are phenomenal. Insane to think these were all literally written in their entirety by kids. (No insult intended- they are super talented.)
I completely understand considering how many " Professionals" have hits that are not the best writing.
Dany is a Swiss army knife performer. She does all the complicated stuff. I'm blown away by her.
Another well thought out reaction. Great insight to what DPA are doing and how the song is put together. Keep it coming!
Another wonderful reaction that gives those of us that have not been in the"business"of a band. I've played bass and I've played rhythm guitar but just for fun. Played in a band a few times as a stand in. Nothing even close to professional. You give great insight! 🤟❤️⚡⚡⚡
Rock on!
Got this cd in the mail yesterday. Highly recommend. Ale is an absolute beast on it. Even at 13, she could go toe to toe with any bassist out there. There's also lots of subtle ear candy that shows up in headphones.
Unmendable isn’t on the QOTMS album, they did throw some songs from their first album into this show. But if you want to hear an amazing version of Unmendable, check out their second TedX talk. Great job!
Agreed!
Thanks! Will do.
❤❤❤❤❤
One of my favorites 👍 The passion of these ladies is amazing and what I feel makes them so special. I’m on board for a live stream if you decide to do it. 🤘🔥🔥🫶
Wonderful!
Love your reactions.
Thank you!! 😊
*Ugh* backstory:
The song *Ugh* went through many changes. The girls have stated they done over 2,0 different versions of *Ugh.* Two earlier versions became seperate songs on the *QotMS* album. Those songs are *The One* & *The Sacrifice.*
The studio version ends with Pau playing the keyboards. The live version ends with the guitar. I personally like the keyboard outro.
*Ugh* working title was *Ugh.* Since it was the hardest song to finish. That That's why it was called *Ugh.* They even at one point wanting to drop this song. But their father insist they finish it. When it came to name the song. *Ugh* stucked even though *Ugh* was never said song or sain in the song.
Thanks Kevin. I love hearing these kind of stories. Excellent!
Some of Dany's guitar parts were actually written by Pau or Ale. The opening bass line for disciple was written by Pau
I appreciate your breakdown of this song. It’s fun hearing another perspective and learning new things, especially for a band I love so much. I’d be interested in watching you react live to this QOTMS performance. 🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
Rock on!
The absolute best version of this song is the one from the Rebel Lounge in Phoenix, AZ. If you want to watch Pau just having the best time ever with her sister and the audience, you can't beat that one. Dany is on fire too, but something about that night just lit a fire under Pau and she was just in the zone. Great reaction as always! **EDIT** It's the black and white one you want to watch.
100%
Yes! That Rebel Lounge show will be the one that goes into the RnR Hall of Fame with them!
1) Lunario is my go-to for Queen of the Murder Scene songs.
2) There are songs from XXI Century blood mixed in in the full Lunario concert but I believe each song from there is on CZcams individually also.
3) The Warning concert live-streams are a blast. There’s always a good turnout. Lunario is a great one. Foro DiDi is awesome. Dakota bar is old-school magnificence. & Liceo is must-see The Warning history. & of course Metropolitan is face-melting.
4) lighting is a …. Bugger. I got hit twice in 3-months. Just enough time to have new electronics in-place to get zapped again.
Great reaction ! Love this power trio. Greetings from France 🟦⬜🟥🤟😉
👍👍👍Nice!!! 🖖❤
Thanks 👍
"Unmendable" is from their first album "XXI Century Blood." You can also get the same songs from the Foro Didi concert. I mention this because the vast majority of reactors have used the Lunario concert.
Don't you have a surge protector for your electronics?
In the Lunario concert Dany is 18, Pau 16, Ale13.
Of all the songs of the QOTMS album "Ugh" gave them the most trouble. They re-wrote this song some 20x before getting what they wanted, but two other songs came out the throw away parts. Here is a link to them talking about "Ugh" from the first VLOG they did describing the album:
czcams.com/video/cNG-vvhrIWs/video.htmlsi=oe9QKC5FGvsq4_AQ&t=235
Not only did I have a surge protector but I bought a new one for the second monitor. lol It was a freaky experience considering all the storms that didn't do that in 12 years. Thanks for the link!
Your house is like a lightening rod.🌩⚡ Maybe build a Faraday cage around your home!
That bass Ale seemed obliged to be there, because throughout the concert he growled angrily.
Holy mackerel! That’s some kind of lightning problem 😢😅. You must be in the storm zone!
Great reaction! I love the line: “This sadness tastes like yesterday, and time won’t take the pain away. “ Livestream should be fun.
LOVE that Dany outro
Yes I meant to mention it and failed. It was awesome.
Lunario is the best way to do the whole album as it is a classic show for TWA. DPA put a lot of thought and work in to make it special for the fans. A great version of Ugh they kill it as usual. I prefer this song from Teatro Met show and the Rebel Lounge version is also great. Unmendable is not from the album but I highly recommend you watch it if for no other reason than to watch Pau destroy her kit🥁 lol. 🤣 Thanks RC ⚡🔥⚡
They are all excellent at filling dead air. It is preplanned and they do it the same every time. With the improvement of pedalboards, Dany and Ale can add thickness to the songs. Pau and Ale sync. Dany and Pau sync. And Ale and Dany constantly go note for note on some intricate riffs, fills, and runs. As a trio, their music amazes me. Can't wait for the new album to drop. The Quarantine Concert from The Cave, in 2020, was LIVE streamed as an apology to the fans for the tour being cancelled because of lockdown. It is fun, imperfect, and wonderful. It would be a great test stream for you. My major complaint concerning streams is many reactors have a tendency to ignore the music and chat with fans in the chat. I like your reactions because you listen to the song, rarely pause, and critique the song after it has finished. It adds a lot of time to the reaction. I don't care. So much is missed if you are reading the chats and not watching the video. But that's just me. It is your channel and I'll watch you anyhow.
You're the second person to say that. It appears we are evenly split on the livestream so far. lol. Thanks for your insight.
I'm seriously contemplating upgrading to an 86" flat screen for my main monitor. I've been running off a 54".
I have been looking at a 75" but it will have to wait until well after xmas, lol
@@RockCandy-ix3nn One little known secret is that the best time to buy a big screen TV is in the week or two after the Super Bowl. A lot of people have Super Bowl parties and they get big screen TVs from places like Best Buy and then they return them the next week after the party is over.. You can usually pick up some open box deals.
This song is a masterpiece! I am so glad they didn't give up when they were writing it (thanks to their dad insisting they finish it!) This is one of my favorites off of The Queen Of The Murder Scene album!
Thanks, nice reaction. It’s nice to hear a little nuts and bolts. Relentless is a good way to describe it. There is not a lot of breathing room in their songs, they keep you engaged, your mind has zero time to wander. As a consequence they leave you wanting more. I don’t have the technical terms to describe it so I hope that makes sense.
Yes it does, perfectly.
Thanks for the insightful reaction RC! TWA loves livestreams of TW. Three concerts for a livestream would be Liceo(real young), Lunario(mainly QOTMS) and Teatro Metropolitan(the whole concert is better than the videos watched separately)! I’m in for any of these!!!😊⚡️
Thanks for the suggestions Legslark! I'm in.
Thank you for all of the insights, really enjoy them!
Thank you for watching!
Oh yeah, people would show up if you live stream this or any other The Warning concert. And yes, this full concert has songs from other albums as well. It's not just a QOTMS album run through.
Roger that!
I know that everyone has mentioned that during this concert, the girls ages were 13, 16, and 18 in 2018. I have been watching them a long time and a supporter also. When they were getting started, they kept getting asked how old they were. So, they taught us some math. Dany was born in Jan of 2000. Pau was born in Feb, and Ale in Dec. They are close together by months. So, you take the year of the concert, like the CDMX Metrolpolitan which was recorded in 2022. Dany was 22. Subtract 2 and Pau was 20. Subtract 3 and Ale was 17. Also, you made the comment that Ale reminded you of Jazz influence, and you are right. She was trained in Jazz and her teacher, Pablo Gonzales, is brilliant. Here is clip that was posted , czcams.com/video/lr5qWcLkaQA/video.html. The girls had some very good teachers, thanks to their parents. Sometimes I watch their parents, and really admire how they brought up 3 very well grounded daughters. Their parents were not musicians either. Their mother had a dental practice. I think sometimes what attracts so many of us, is that the girls are really humble, they don't use bad language, they are polite, they play down their looks a bit, but they really engage their fans. Its interesting to watch. They let their music speak for itself. I have a music background, and was trained in piano, and I enjoy listening to some of their complex interactions. Some times rock bands are too simple. Listen to Rush or Muse and you get what I mean.
Some years ago during an interview with the three girls, Pau made the comment that they were very fortunate to have Ale because she has a metronome in her head, and keeps really great time. Ale has got a reputation of giving her sisters a hard stare if they get out of time during a song, lol. They are so funny sometimes, but what talent ...
The picture we briefly saw on the screen behind them at the start of this video is actually a full-size painting. If you ever watched the TV show Twin Peaks you might recognize the locaion.
I have but it's been a minute. I'll investigate. Thanks!
When you come to the song "Dull Knives" consider the performance from The Warning Cave they performed in August 15, 2020 for the virtual charity concert DeTour. Halestorm also performed for this concert and saw TW for the first time. Afterward, Lzzy Hale contacted them on SM and invited them to tour with Halestorm when the pandemic was over, which they did last year for nearly 40 shows, and at the Irving, TX show gifted Dany the custom white Gibson "Explorer" guitar. This is the link to that video of "Dull Knives":
czcams.com/video/-VUCzqDyOdI/video.htmlsi=VdvVsOniiDHcAuG4
FYI: Dany is 20, Pau 18, Ale 15. This is a month prior to them leaving for New Jersey to record the "Error" album with producer David Bendeth in New Jersey for 3 months. Ale is transitioning to a 5 string bass and is playing a 5 string gifted to her from Thomas Illgen, a bass player who gifted her the black sparkle Spector bass and a white Fender bass. Dany is playing one of her Rick Toone "Spearfish" guitars, the "Moby Dick." And you get a really good look at their home studio set up.
All great info! Thanks!
Ale was only 13 here. When I was 13, I was learning how to be competitive racing dirt bikes. As far as Music went at 13, I barely knew how to operate a turntable, and a radio. These gals are flat out amazing!
The album was released in 4 chapters of 3 songs each. The 4th chapter was not released until the concert at Lunario where they put it all together.
Dust to Dust is the prolog then
Unmendable from XXI Century Blood.
Chapter 1 - Crimson Queen, Ugh, The One
When I'm Alone
Chapter 2 - Stalker, Red Hands, The Sacrifice
XXI Century Blood
Chapter 3 - Sinister Smiles, Dull Knives, Queen of the Murder Scene
Copper Bullets (Pau did it this time)
Chapter 4 - P.S.Y.C.H.O.T.I.C., Hunter, The End
Survive
I definitely like your comments since you have actually played in a 3 piece band. It really irritates me when people take shots at the girls such as Dany being a mediocre guitarist since she doesn't shred in every song or that Ale could be easily replaced.
Ale was 13 or 14. Her birthday is December 13, 2004. This concert was near her birthday.
Dany and Pau think highly of Ale as not only their sister but as a highly competent bass player whose natural sense of tempo and perfect pitch (though they sometimes find it irritating that she is such a perfectionist) serves as the glue that holds the trio together throughout each song, lending them the tightness necessary for a trio to be effective.
It does help to have experience in that type of band. It's a good point you bring up and I think I'll address it in my next video. Thank you for your comment!
"People" who take shots at any of these prodigal talented musicians likely have no musical knowledge nor play any instruments. Nice to sit back in your chair at home and critique people who are far more talented than oneself. Likely these folks are fans of other bands and are frustrated that these 3 incredible Sisters are going to take over the Rock genre of music for many years to come...they are so young still. It is best to ignore the ignorance of others. Thanks for the great comment. ⚡⚡
Your comment tells me a lot. In every successful band someone assumes the role of perfectionist. Too often musicians are impressed with their own "brilliance" until you point out it could be better or tighter. Then you become the irritant. Until they hear it as a group for the first time. What sounds good at 30 repetitions sounds great after 60. Often we would wear out trying to get it right at practice only to come back the following session and absolutely crush it the first run through. I never quite understood how that happened but I saw it enough to believe in the process. Perhaps this is Ale's POV. Thanks for the comment,
@@RockCandy-ix3nn Ale is sometimes referred to as the stage mom. I know it takes all three of them but sometimes I know Ale contributes more than just being a really good bass player. If you have not seen it the interview they did with Allison Hagendorf was exceptional.
The bass in this song is awsome !
Again; love your reaction and analysis. And "relentless" is a good description - considering the subject of the song is a girl in a total mental panic, a "relentless" musical backing fits absolutely perfectly. Have a great day!!
You too! Thank you for watching!
Great video Rock Candy! At the time of this performance, Dany was 18, Paulina was 16, and Ale` was 13 years old.
☝️😂
I think Ale was 13 yrs old. Out of Basement, covers, warning cave.. all kinds of stuff from the childhood years🤟🎶☮️
I like Dany's war paint.. or claw mark looking makeup. That's a nice touch. If ever get a chance to purchase the album I recommend you do so.. I listened to it one night laying on the couch and the record really has some cool instruments going on that you can't hear live.. The vocals, harmonies are very clear.. and all the instruments are really clear.. it's awesome.. 🤟🎶☮️
Thanks!
Great reaction RC! Ale was 13! This is another one where it's amazing to see the advances in their musicianship and stage presence doing this same song at Teatro Metropólitan. Unmendable is from their earlier album XXI Century Blood.
I used to listen to this song a lot before the 2022 live version came out. Then I kind of switched to listening to that one for a while. Coming back to this I realize how much they’ve engineered their sound in the present to be so much bigger, the guitar is chunkier, and their vocals are tighter. This is a great performance but you can really hear how much better a band they are five years later.
Thank you for that heads up! We'll definitely do it!
🤘
Ale 13, Pau 16, Dany 18.
Me gusta más la versión del teatro Metropolitan de la CDMX
excellent reaction, break down, and discussion... "relentless" is a perfect way to describe this heavy hard driving song... one may want to think twice about playing it while driving 😹
TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA
LOL! Thanks!
Really enjoyed your reaction. You manage to add insight as a performer without getting too technical, or going off to far on tangents.
As far as a livestream I have two suggestions.
Do a livestream of their 2017 Tedx talk first. You get to hear a bit about their experiences directly from them. They perform three of their original songs from their first album during it. It is just under 19 minutes long. Since you have never done a live stream before this should be a lower pressure situation where you can figure things out, and find your comfort zone, without having to worry about how you are going to get through an over hour long concert.
Do a livestream of their quarantine official show next. It is just the three of them, and their parents off screen, streaming over phones from The Warning Cave. The sound is good, and you get to see and hear a bit about how they work together. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed. That show is just under an hour and forty minutes long.
Thank you! These are excellent suggestions!
Yes please do the Lunario concert and the Teatro Metropolitan CDMX concert live. Both are great concerts and I know you will enjoy it as we will watching you.
Just look at all these comments...
ain't lightning a #itch i live on top of the highest point in my town and have lost many electronic appliances etc. insurance of course never quite covered it all got tired of it hired a reputable electrician to install proper circuit breakers, dual surge protectors and and redundancies over 20 yeas now no more problems wasn't cheap but looking at what i could have lost if i hadn't taken those steps it has paid for itself now i enjoy the thunderstorms instead of worrying about them lol
I just took notes!
UGH : que buena voz de Dany ,estupendo solo, excelente linea de bajo y Pau una de las mejores linea de bateria de Pau ,que buen tema del album conceptual de QOTMS ,según TW su canción mas complicada de terminar por eso se llama UGH
👍 _!!_
I'm really enjoying your reactions. Having said that, I am not a fan of livestreams. The reactors ends up interacting with the viewers in real time, which I understand would be enjoyable for them. However, the cost for that is that the reactors miss a lot of the nuances of the performances they claim they are watching, and the banter between the reactors and the viewers drags out the "reaction" to the point where it is not an enjoyable experience, at least to me. That's my two cents. I'm glad you are listening to the Lunario concert. It is my favorite performance for QOTMS. FYI, this album was nominated for the 17th annual Independent Music Awards for best rock/hard rock album. Good luck with your channel. I'm glad you discovered my favorite band. Cheers!
Thank you for the insights on livestream and info on the award!
Another wonderful reaction and comments RC. Hope you can get comfortable enough to do Livestreams soon. Livestreams of the QOTMS here at Lunario or the Teatro Met CDMX would bring a lot of Warning Army fans for sure. Sorry to here about your fried Flat screens. Personally, I have a "whole house" surge protector, and individual protectors on my sensitive electronics as well...little anal but living in the South with many storms kind of a necessity . Love your channel, one of my favorites now, keep up the great job. Cheers, Seasons Greetings. ⚡⚡⚡⚡
It's your channel. Do what you want. There is other shows to watch. Might not have that clean crisy sound. But you'll see the growth of this band.
I would recommend keep doing the Lunario show like it is.
For your info. Ale does sing leax (not at Lunario) for the songs *Red Hands Never Fade* & *Hunter* when Dany needed a pinch hitter. If that's what you want to substitute a Lunario song with. Won't be on The Warnings channel. But I can you links to the best sounding ones available. I practically watch 90% of the videos on CZcams with The Warning. That's way over a thousand. I jumped in 2017. Just after *XXI Century Blood* album was released.
I would very much like to hear Ale sing. Bring me the links, please.
@@RockCandy-ix3nn
Here are a few. Found a few new videos of Ale singing lead on *Red Hands Never Fade* from different angles. There's so much out there with this band.
*Red Hands Never Fade* 2020 Big City Family

Video I never seen until now. Don't know the show. On stage - side view on Ale's side. Music starts right away. Picture goes black at the end of the song but still hear the applause.

*Hunter* 2020 opening for Stryper

I also watch other artist/bands that covers The Warning . Some are very, very good. Some needs more rehearsals. Here's a two for your reaction. Ken Larson covers two songs. He also did three videos putting himself in The Cave playing selections during their COVID Quarantine Livestream show. Which The Warning did (3/25/2020) when their first U.S. North American 2020 tour was suppose to start.
*Hunter* What if Alice Cooper did a cover of The Warning song. Ken impersonate Alice Cooper singing Hunter in Alice Cooper makeup.

*The End (Stars Always Seem to Fade)*
A darker tone of the song in a man's point of view after an bad car accident.

There you go. There's some.
Rock Candy Man, these ladies were 18,16 and 13 here. Ugh is still one of my favorites of The Warning, it gives me a bit of a Queensryche vibe. A very hard driving beat from Pau and thunder from Ale. Then Dany's Savage riffs on top is just awesome!!
Sorry to hear about your TVs, that really sucks. Some advice? Two Words, Surge Protector. ;) Sorry, didn't mean to add insult to injury.
LOL. No insult taken. I DID have surge protection. Even bought a new one for the second monitor. I just figured lightening is a funny thing.
Good reaction/analysis RC. Ale was 13 yo here, crazy right? What's also nuts is, I think they were 17,15 and 12 yo when they started writing this great concept album, subscribed.
Oh wow! Thanks for the sub too!
The Teatro Metropolitan version is technically a lot better, and Ale's harmonies are higher in the mix, which I really like. I saw this live in Boston in May 2022; it's incredibly intense live.
They played this song a few times this past spring, and once or twice Dany forgot the lyrics. Pau spotted what was going on (or about to happen) and jumped right in.
I have to be honest, I’m not a fan of live streams because usually reactors derail their attention to the video and the small but important details. And if they don’t, they stop the video many times to be able to look at the chat and making the stream way too long. I prefer the way you do it now.
Ok thanks for letting me know! And thank you for visiting!
