- This week we head further into the mountains to visit Mojacar to learn about the Indalo which is an ancient symbol that protects property and people from danger. After so many questions about how we cope off grid for so long I show the Bluetti AC200P power bank and solar set up which to be honest we just couldn't have coped without. We head further into the mountains to meet up with a good friend of mine who bought a place out there and has spent the last 30 years turning it into a beautiful home. After doing all our Van engine checks, we then head to the outskirts of Granada, jump on a rickety toy train to explore cave houses in the town of Gaudix before finding a secure campsite in Granada to allow us to leave our vans for a few hours safely to explore Alhambra Palace.

Winters in the UK can be miserable especially when living on a boat and with all the canal lock closures for maintenance, I began to feel a little trapped. So for the next 2 months I decided to join up with another fellow solo female traveller and set off across Europe in our two very old camper vans in search of sunshine and to experience Van life at it's best.
I hope you enjoy something a little different as I swap boat life for van life.

Wow you two have put the miles in. How did the dogs go with the cats? Spain is brilliant, if I had the space I could tell you some funny stories. Love Sangria hard to get here in Oz nowadays. Hello to you all - we so enjoyed watching your visit to the fantastic Alhambra Palace, it brought back some very happy memories from our trip there in 2001. What an amazing place and we enjoyed the Tinto de Veranos too!! Another highlight for us (especially my husband) was our visit to Cordoba where we saw the most amazing flamenco show - it was tainted by the fact that when we returned to our hotel we were appalled by the news about the Twin Towers atrocity that was so tragic. Because of your travels it’s made us want to do the Granada/Cordoba/Seville route again ending up in a villa in Costa de la Luz. Thanks for your weekly adventures and already looking forward to next weeks. Love to you all❤❤❤

About those tiles and the planned imperfections, it is interesting to note that the Navaho weavers in the US who are famous for their beautiful wool blankets always do the same thing, interrupting their pattern just a bit to avoid perfection. I don’t know enough about their spiritual practices to know why that is.

They both old diesels but boat a lot noisier and slower as only a 2 cylinder air cooled

Glad to see that you are having a wonderful trip. This is such a beautiful part of Spain. My Mum has lived in the region for the past 20 years and we have visited the area multiple times including the cave houses in Guadix. We are now planning our next adventure. We are traveling from our home in British Columbia to Moab, Utah in April in our RV and your adventures are keeping us going until we leave. Safe travels!

I spent two days looking around Alhambra Palace, I got a discount because I am a pensioner it really is an amazing place to see, with all the carved walls and doors, Summer wine of the gods.
