  • Pella’s Impervia fiberglass is the strongest material available for windows and doors, but we wanted to see just how strong it is. We worked with our Test Lab to design three ways to show how our fiberglass stands up to extreme tests.

I'm considering replacing some windows, but the one thing I never see anyone demonstrating is how well their product holds up to the sun. I live in florida where you can have a sunburn in 10 minutes. The sun here can make most vinyl brittle as an eggshell in a year. Even rubber like wipers, doesn't matter about quality, your wipers will be toast in 3 months even if you never use them.
That's why I need to replace some windows. The current windows are only 10 years old, yet the sun has destroyed the seal between the panes and they are all cloudy now.
Sure they have a warranty, but I want something that will last more than 10 years, or that has a warranty that covers labor too.

Hi there! Thanks for asking this question! Our fiberglass sounds like a great option for you! To learn more about how to select windows for your region, please reference the following resources:

It would be more impressive if you showed other products/ competitors failing the same tests

I’m confused. So why do competitors make bigger windows with vinyl frames?

This is a great question and an important detail to think about! Although vinyl is used in some applications like that, we believe our fiberglass could be a better alternative for many of those applications. - KS

The strength and durability is top notch! It holds up to the elements better than any other product I have seen and that makes it my "go to" product. Not only does it perform better to ALL climates and elements, its backed by the Pella name and team! You can't get better than that!
