    The Sky Melody Film Co. used the same fanfare as the main theme from the spaghetti western called I'Giorni Dell'ira (Day of Anger), composed by Riz Ortolani.

    Some wonderful stuff here! Got quite a laugh out of the "William Tell" Overture (aka the Lone Ranger theme) used on several of them. Only thing that could have made this better would have been to see some of the assorted Your-Name-Here-Scope logos in their full width. Congratulations on a great job.

    Hey Dire, my dear fellow, on @3:38 which movie does that version of New Grand Films New Grand Scope comes from? :)

    • @HKMSIDC
      @HKMSIDC  Před 10 lety

      Erichi, the New Grand Films/Scope idents comes from Legends of Cheating (騙術奇譚, 1971) and Cheating in Panorama (騙術大觀, 1972), both were swindler-themed films.
      Director Li Han-hsiang (李翰祥) founded Grand Motion Pictures in Taiwan after leaving Shaw Brothers due to some disputes in late 1960s, only returned to Hong Kong a few years later to form New Grand Films and - ironically - re-joined SB for directing sensual masterpieces in 1970s.

      Hong Kong Movie Studios ID Channel (香港電影公司片頭) Wow....that was crazy but at least he is once again re-joined Shaw Bros and created these New Grand Film idents...I like the themes because that is true indication that this comes from Hong Kong. :D Pretty neat by those times, right?

    What's the deal with almost all these companies using some variant of "CinemaScope?"

    • @HKMSIDC
      @HKMSIDC  Před 10 lety +1

      The proprietary CinemaScope process was invented by 20th Century Fox in 1953, but abandoned in less than two decades, having lost to the more affordable Panavision technique. Those 'Scopes were not at all related to CinemaScope, only as a coined-term for their so-called "own" anamorphic formats.
