Walmart had this on sale for $60 for Black Friday. I bought it, but recommend it even at full price for live walls or videos. It has little bloat, and upgraded in early Dec to Android 10. I've loaded over 800 apps (mostly live walls), and play both videos and these walls with no lag - although I do keep all other apps closed in the background. I don't play games on the device or use the camera. The display is good for 720p - but dark so I keep the brightness higher than on other devices, and the sound is good. The battery is exceptional - and better than Samsung or Fire tablets I also use. I do recommend this tablet - particularly for those who want a tablet for videos and/or live wallpapers.

With support for WLAN ac it is the only budget choice for a steam link / amd link tablet. I tried out the amazon fire 8 hd (7th gen) and using it with a telescopic bluetooth controller really hurts the 2,4 GHz wireless until it's unplayable. The only downside is the mediocre screen resolution. I would rather buy a Samsung Galaxy S2 but it's only available on the used market.
Hi. Have you had any updates since? And can you (still) confidently says Dreamcast and PSP games could still work in low to medium graphics settings? How about streaming sites such as CZcams, Netflix or Amazon Prime? Does the speakers sound meh or decent? Does some audio come out from the top earpiece as well?
Great feel to the unit. It feels alright in the hands. Battery is great. Screen resolution is very low and processor is pretty bad. Lags a lot out of the box
Hey ETA, love your reviews, keep up with the good work. I have a question: what about the FHD version of the M8, with Mediatek Helio P22T, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and above all 1920x1200 screen resolution? Could it be any good for $144? EDIT: I ended up buying it, saw some benchmarks of the P22 and it's not that bad, plus I found a coupon online: MSRP $160 > with coupon $120. I'll keep you posted, should arrive in 2 weeks.
Yikes. I'm getting a geekbench 5.2 single core score of 169 and 900 for multi core. How is it a lower score than this? Edit: Turns out Geekbench 5.x uses a different scoring system, which is totally confusing. Downloaded geekbench 4.2 apk and I got Single core 836 and multicore 3916, making this marginally slower than the HD in single core performance, but 30-40% faster in multicore.

Disabled everything I could of the stock Lenovo clutter and now it doesn't stutter anymore. 3gb of ram ensure many chrome tabs /apps not to reload and video and audio quality is good enough for me. Netflix though is SD only and the not fully laminated display bothers me. Overall it doesn't blow smoke but I think this FHD version it's worth it. I had an Amaxon 100$ gift card so I snagged one fire hd 10 as well on the flash sale you mention, but it's still sitting in its box.
Currently the upcharge for the FHD and over this HD models is so little ($20 - actually Lenovo is offering the FHD model for $149 right now) that I believe it is better to get the 3g/32gb FHD version which is octa-core, 3gb/32gb, 1080p, 5000 mAh battery and better camera. End of year it will be a different story, I'm sure - the HD model will be dirt cheap (I'm guessing routinely $109, $89 on blowouts around Black Friday) and the FHD version will have disappeared. I hate modern marketing. But the good new is - at least Lenovo didn't announce, but never sell, the FHD. They are actually selling it, on their website. I snagged one for $139, my boxing day present to myself. I guess we are never going to see an HD Fire 7 (Nexus 7 replacement) from Amazon. Stuck at 600p. Yuck.
Saw this at Walmart today the all-metal construction was kind of enticing to me. It's currently being sold at $99. Would that make it a better deal than something else? I really don't want to get an Amazon Fire product dealing with ads and stuff. Not going to be playing any games on it it's going to be purely for media consumption and using it for a car diagnostic app that works perfectly fine on an old tablet.
I would like to know if the Lenovo has a GPS chip buil-in, that doesn't need a WiFi ro a hot spot for GPS car navigation. I just bought a Samsung galaxy Tab-A 2019. However, it doesn't have GPS chip built-in, which I intended to use as a car GPS . The reason being, I'm shopping again for a different brand of tablet.

Dont quote me on this, but I think there is an HD and fhd model, hd is 720p and fhd is 1080p
i dont know why they dont use snapdragons in 8in size screens
I need to unsub just because every time I watch a video I end up ordering a new gadget from Amazon! LOL

LOL
COD Mobile is very well optimized, I can run it on my Honor 9 Lite (with mediocre gpu performance), and still get 60FPS. lol
Can you use the micro USB to HDMI to push tablet on tv?
I'd like to know, as well.
Hi does this support stylus note screen writing?
With support for WLAN ac it is the only budget choice for a steam link / amd link tablet. I tried out the amazon fire 8 hd (7th gen) and using it with a telescopic bluetooth controller really hurts the 2,4 GHz wireless until it's unplayable. The only downside is the mediocre screen resolution. I would rather buy a Samsung Galaxy S2 but it's only available on the used market.
yeah me to SD665+ on a tablet with make it a little more powerful and a little more ram maybe about 3 or 4
Closest I can think if for that is mi pad 4 but snapdragon 660 instead and 4 gigs if ram and 64 gig storage
It’s actually $79 right now on Walmart
I too use LENOVO. My phone's name LENOVO P1ma40 VIBE series
According to me, Lenovo's best table by far is the Tab 4 8 Plus!
@@Wookiestick I got mine (FHD) yesterday, quickly tested it but didn't run benchmarks yet. Highly disappointed. Laggy as hell, Google cards barely scroll, the screen doesn't seem to be fully laminated...more to come later.
@@IShoutToTheTop I kind of wish I got the new Fire HD 10 that was on sale for $99. I got the m8 FHD for $115 inc. tax and coupons, so I might stick with it despite it's shortcomings.
@@IShoutToTheTop I wasn't wild about the lenovo in house launcher. Try nova launcher.
@@Wookiestick quick update: tested OnePlus launcher on it but had no screen rotation so I went back to good old Nova. Performance improved dramatically as expected and usability is now a 7/10 for me.
Is that great for online classes??? Like the overall clearity and audio??
I have a iPad but dang, I seriously need the play store
Can you plug into tv through the type c?
