On a metatextual level, I believe the "gurney" cutscene is the game's most in-your-face reference to Jacob's Ladder, a film it draws heavy inspiration from. I genuinely recommend it as a sort of "companion piece" if you love the game and want more stories like it.

I stopped about halfway through because I was convinced I needed to play this myself and didn't want to get too spoiled. Really love your stuff dude, no idea how you manage to get a video out every week, but your inspiring me to try to get there eventually. I was a baby when it came to horror until my 20's, so I missed out on a lot of classic horror games like the Silent Hill series. It's always sitting in the back of my mind but this vid made me think I'm finally going to play it soon. Good stuff man.
Oh no! I did too good of a job showing off the game! Haha. Yeah, I played through it with the Enhanced Edition mod on PC, and I'd recommend it for sure. It's a relatively short game, probably 6-7 hrs, and it's something that likely will stick with you for some time after having played it And thank you for the kind words, man. So far as getting a video out every week, it's definitely a challenge, full stop. But I feel better when I'm productive than when I'm not. Really, I think I have two things to say about it: first, batching things together and being able to record multiple videos in one session is really helpful, because then I don't have to set up and take down everything, which is a great time saver; and two, I've found that if you give yourself a deadline, so long as it isn't absolutely insane (and it doesn't have to be a week), you'll surprise yourself with how you can rise to meet the challenge. Because I know I only have a short period of time, I (typically) don't waste too much time on the small little details I used to get so bogged down in that no one notices. And I've gotten much quicker at editing from doing it so much, but also, from just trying to find faster ways to do things that don't hurt quality. I recorded a video around Halloween where I'm dressed up like a vampire, and basically, I just talked about how doing this, how giving myself a time limit, has helped me to accomplish a ton. And my work isn't perfect by any means, but I think there's a point where you've worked on something so long that you're not making it better, you're just changing it. But idk when I'll put that video out; probably within the next month or so. But thank you for the kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I only played it for the first time 1-2 years ago. I don’t know why it was so deeply comforting. Usually gaming alone up until 4am would make me feel like I’m spiralling. Would just be a snow blizzard outside and I’d be completely content and relaxed playing this

I remember reading a quote where one of the developers said there is no "true ending", but all of them are viable possibilities of how it can go down, I really like that idea that each one is just as valid as the others, glad you mentioned that idea too. In the middle of writing this video, I wrote a couple pages worth of analysis about one of the endings, so idk when, but I'd like to make that video sooner than later.
