I like the concept of these. It would be a maintenance nightmare especially for the ones that do not have detachable trailers. Keep an extra bag full of wheel bearings in your glovebox.

Are these licenses for a rv or a boat and by its a boat is it coast guard pass and on the trailer is it rv plate and do need the water rights sticker and number ya alot of questions

Nice if you have a lot of money to spend on something on a small trailer that wishes it was a boat. Can be a little enjoyable a few times but pray the wind does not pick up. It will be pushed with the wind way far away or to the shoreline it blows to. Not getting back until the wind dies unless the wind chop takes it down.
I hope they did account for that
@@MustSeeTech You can hope but a boat that can catch wind that is not good for wind chop with a small motor can not escape that situation. The owner must be aware to avoid this situation that is common to happen many places.

I think the basic concept of amphibious caravans is good. There certainly is room in the British inland waterways market for such a vehicle that can double up as a caravan that you can take home to save mooring fees. There have been attempts to promote such vehicles in the 1960's and 70's but their designs didn't capture the public's imagination. Personally I designed and built 'Newt 111' cycle boat, a human powered canal boat (also on CZcams) but it lacks amphibious abilities but is carbon neutral and cheap to operate.We certainly need to move away from combustion engines.

Hi, Daniel. Thanks for visiting the channel. I think that Terrawind and Land and Sea RV are US-made so they are sold in the US. The rest are sold in Germany, Australia, and Japan (depending on the model)

Okay my 30 ft RV might not float(well maybe it does but I think that would ruin it) but it sleeps 7 people. Also, since many didn't ride around on a "boat trailer", tires in water beyond the launch ramp isn't practical, get a log snag stabbing your tire and now you got a flat tire...on the lake or River. Maybe European waterways are free of snags and don't have to worry about it. That said, some of those are perfect for weekend get aways. But the price of a lot of those, you can buy a pontoon boat in the USA and you can sleep on those as well.
Great concept, but the price is well over what is expected.

The big thing for me though is how many of these are just boats that can strap on to a trailer base- that's not an amphibious vehicle at all, that's what you do to tow a normal boat!

I want a barge that I can park my motorhome on. My rr wheels can drive a pair of rollers and paddle wheels....the front wheels connect to the rudder.
I had this exact same idea years ago, but towing a barge large enough to put your motorhome/RV on top of doesn't seem feasible. It would be a great business on calm waterways and lakes, if the distance between the drive mechanism and the front wheel controls for the rudder(s) was adjustable, so it could accommodate different wheelbase motorhomes/RV's. I could see a whole armada of these barges moored off shore in some large lake, or lazy river, and brought to the loading ramp to have each motorhome/RV driven on to it by the business operator, then turned over to the owner of the motorhome/RV, to use as their personal houseboat for a week, or weekend. Would be a great business model, with no cleaning staff needed for the houseboat.

Boat van is better because it saves you the hassle of attaching and detaching the trailer frame.
They should not be considered amphibious, if they can not propel themselves on land.

Prices are the guaranteed reason NONE of then will ever go mainstream. Some greedy bastards.
You just have a modification for the wheels that you had on your paddles and you have a crank on the inside. That way you don't kill the nursery section of the lake which is the top two feet which is where all the babies and the ecosystem are so you're just basically killing the ecosystem with an outdoor motor. It is classified as an invasion if people want to get rid of it.
