...to counteract a rather fundamental flaw...... they're completely daft.
LOVE IT!
BHQld my favorite part of video
They are not daft, they just take insane risks because they knew whatever happen, they can land on their legs.
Familiar with the phrase, curiosity killed the cat?
And self heal.
Nah, cats are crazy! But that is a feature, not a flaw 😸
Every living creature can self heal, that’s literally what healing is… lmfao 🤣
@@juliansanderson839but satisfaction brought it back
Makes me wonder how a cat in zero gravity would react.
there's actually cats in zero gravity videos xD u should check them out
The Air Force did it decades ago, for actual science.

I think their stabilization system will go haywire
Mojokuku spin cycle
Meanwhile, my derp of a cat falls flat on his back/bum whenever he jumps. He truly is special.
Gotta love 'em
That Smile Too true
same with mine
Ok, so my cat isn't the only special one 😂
He probably has the wrong drivers installed. Or they just need to be updated
"they are absolutely daft" 😂😂😂
The adorable last kitty proves that sight isn't a necessary requirement for their trademark skill, as commonly thought.
Amazing, and SO true! I've watched cats testing this talent for a lot of years, and regardless of what dumb thing they've just done, they always manage a perfect landing, sufficient to have them walk away saying, "I meant to do that." Like we're supposed to believe them...
My cat fell from the balcony that is more than 10 metres high, landed perfectly without a single wound
it's not guaranteed injuries can occur, please take better care of your cat
+Caracal Yes, I've had another cat that was fighting and fell from the same height, had a bit of injury on his leg
+No-Limitation Wait....car?
+HimKioo He lived after that several years
My cat once caught a bullet with its bare paws!!
They usually land as shown here, but it is a myth to say "always". I've seen our own cats fail plenty of times in over 50 years of having them.
cats are amazing creatures
in slow mo,cats look like professional gymnastic
If only the Hamster could drive ,like a cat lands!
What gets me is how fast they think and act!
Top gear Cat special. That's what this seems like to me. The narrator is Richard Hammond from top gear BBC.
I have always thought that cats were were animated Slinky's
And this is why I've subscribed this channel. Please, keep these videos coming :D
"HAMMOND!!!!!!" -Clarkson
I like how they let a cat fall😂
muffin could have its own show. i would watch it. adorable cat with remarkable coloring.
omg cats are sooo cute i cant stop laughing 😅😅😅😅😅
Waho the last one land well without sight..amazing instinct relflexes have the cats..
Daft? My Cat is so clever its scary.
People call cats daft when they don't listen to humans, and usually those kinds of humans are impatient. Just bc a kitty doesn't want to play fetch doesn't mean she can't. My cat literally plays ball with me by swatting it to me and i swat it back.
@@KB-Ocelot
My cat learned to ring the bell to be let outside by watching the dog. She also knows how to play fetch
“Is a cat’s ability to always lands on its feet myth, miracle, or marvel of physics?”
Yes.
The whiskers of a cat compensate for another fundamental flaw... they are farsighted, so their vision is very poor at close range. This is why a cat's whiskers stick out more during hunting (and play) so they can more easily know exactly where and when to bite.

Have you heard of something called the Internet? There's lots of cat videos on there! You should check it out sometime! =P
The mighty algorithm has blessed me with this old gem, still as shimmery as it was published.
If you strap two cats together back to back they never stop rotating creating so much energy it creates a black hole, this is how they start the Large Hadron Collider...
Glad this is back.
did you guys throw kitties around to get that slow-mo shot or what?
I looks like just one shot on multiple cameras
They can generate torque in zero G (free fall) to change their orientation the way a satellite in orbit does with reaction wheels. Cats are really interesting creatures.
2:24 what, who's saving a cat, thats make him ugly 😂
times must be hard. richard hammond from top gear superstar to a cat commentator.
1:29 Awesome wave of hairy o.O
Was searching for a specific video from my local news channel about a cat jumping from a building and I saw this and was curious...
...did NOT expect to hear or see Richard Hammond and it took me a minute to remember what video I had clicked on, and now because I watch The Grand Tour I am going to be getting Top Gear and Grand Tour videos recommended to me forever!
That moment when you have to drop a cat in the name of science so you can film it for the sake of slowmo sharing it to explain cat turn physics.
could you do a video please on the science of parkour
Woah.... Long time no see you Hamster!!!
I had a cat who was playing in my balcony, it tripped and fell from the 8th floor to the 1st floor. The cat cut his mouth due to the impact but no bones were broken
Mine fell from a low roof while having a seizure. Landed on her fours and belly despite the momentarily lack of consciousness. Just bit her tongue.
God gave cats those abilities. He made them.
Hammond! :D
2:10 👍❤️
They don’t twist their back legs in the opposite direction, they turn their heads and identify a spot to land and then turn the rest of their bodies
Smarter every day do this experiment
I respect you Neko-sama.
weeaboo
Hamster teaching me about cats.
cats are th best
if there weren't that many lazy people, we would be much more agile
What is the cat fell from a leg breaking height? What it land on its feet without breaking it?
Wow
Paw footed landing

Cats have 9 lives 🥰🥰🥰
My car fell from my attic one time when I opened the ceiling door. That crap scared me.
Who keeps their car in their attic?
how the hell did you get your car in your attic
+x he meant cat
+Evie DuBois he meant cat
You mean cat
I love CATS
So funny
the hamster is doing a series called "Science of Stupid"
why do I have an incling thats more than plain coincidence??
Hammond!!!!!!
nice
top gear and natgeo
My kitty is a pro, she lands on her feet about 90.9% of the time
My cat jumps off the balcony often when he feels like going outside and the front door is closed. It's a three stories fall, easy. I never could fathom how he can do that. I would lose my legs.
i love cats
Ha ha ha.
ayo what hammond doin talking about cats
you do know that people can absorb the shock of landing by simply doing a parkour landing roll right? that's how they can get safe landing even when they jump from floors height, they do almost what a cat does by rolling on the ground the moment they hit it to get rid of the shock force and continue moving on
Very true. But a landing roll takes practice, not something most humans do by instinct. Cats do their own landing by instinct with no previous instruction.
you do know that land rolling parkour style is literally the easiest technique to learn right? you can learn it in 5 minutes, and master it after 1 day of normal training, not even hard or severe just normal training...
so saying "not something most humans can do by instinct" ... can you simply roll around yourself on the ground? you know put your both palms before your face and roll over your spine in a single straight line before your eyes by kicking yourself with your feet very lightly on the ground? that in itself is something all kids learn how to do very early! the parkour roll is very similar, you just roll not straight line but diagonally an that's it!
+Invisible What's the highest height someone can fall and roll from?
if you are a parkour expert with the landing zone being either a garden = soil and grass, or a training arena = rubber and secured flooring, then i bet you should be able to land roll at least from the height of 2 to 3 floors, depending on your angel, if you're still a novice or just began if you're above soil or rubber enhanced flooring for training, you should at least be able to land roll from the height of 1 floor or one and half a floor, the more the floors number you jump from the farther you'll travel using the roll, or so i think, of course there are some heights where you can not roll from because the landing will be too tough even for you to handle, i'm not a parkour player nor am i training but from the reading knowledge and the videos i watched and specially from 3Run family videos and others you can get such conclusion
Invisible Thanks a lot. I used to train, but I don't as much as I used to. :)
and I have a cat who falls flat on her back a lot.
+Neumonic Games n Reviews she pretty much does it anytime she falls. but she did have a tumor in her brain so that's probably why.
+Neumonic Games n Reviews oh the tumor has been removed and taken care of this was years ago. this is just one of the left over effects saddly. she just doesn't get on as high of stuff as she used to and is more careful with her jumps. sorry, I should have been more clear.
that's called a dog
+FrozenEternity you know my dog is better at catching rats. maybe they switched bodies.
Anyone else reminds him of Hugh Jackman(Did I spell that right)?
what is this? nat geo or a scientific version of america's funniest home videos??? XDD
came here for the kitty...
is jeremy hardy doing a voice over for this?
Is he from top gear ?
Consider that somone got paid to drop a Cat for this
but probably point.... a flexible efficient spine...
How many times did they have to drop a cat
My face at 1:25 °~°
wtf did they do to the last cat?
my thought is it either had a surgery and required it fur to to be shave or as my cat did at one point landed in a thorn bush after trying to fight another cat and we couldn't get the thorns out to so we had to cut his fur or it could have been the summer so they gave him a loin cut. Hope that helps
+Renee Lagrandeur helps a lot, thx
no problem
Cats are smarter and more capable than you think. Your balance and coordination can be affected by your diet and genetics. A purebred cat on a dry food diet isn't as strong as a wild cat or moggy. I've seen cats jump over 8ft. Studies suggest cats can fall as far as 20 stories and survive with little to no injuries.
Please be safe, all cats 🐈
Humans, please don't try throwing cats from high places. They have the ability, but nothing is guaranteed. 😭
Who is Mother nature ?
Maniesh paul
How can I jump like cat?
yo uh, cat????
But can cats parkour? I THINK NOT
Undone By The MeMe of course
cats can put every parkour wannabe to shame
I'm 25% cat and 75%human it's true
Ok ok so we all know the National Geographic box sign thing yk I think you know ok so yeah.I’m like oh National Geographic and I LOOK AT THE YT NAME AND IT NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC
Yeh..... Its real, Cats always land in their feet. 😕
ROFLMAO @ Muffin

ok, you pointed out that cats can do this, how about explaining how. Just because you say it with a british accent doesn't make your observations intelligent. Please explain the physics that apply. You have told us what they do, now please explain HOW. This video is like a 1/2 assed documentary.
