    Amazing, and SO true! I've watched cats testing this talent for a lot of years, and regardless of what dumb thing they've just done, they always manage a perfect landing, sufficient to have them walk away saying, "I meant to do that." Like we're supposed to believe them...

    The whiskers of a cat compensate for another fundamental flaw... they are farsighted, so their vision is very poor at close range. This is why a cat's whiskers stick out more during hunting (and play) so they can more easily know exactly where and when to bite.

  • @TrueInvisible
    @TrueInvisible Před 8 lety +24

    you do know that people can absorb the shock of landing by simply doing a parkour landing roll right? that's how they can get safe landing even when they jump from floors height, they do almost what a cat does by rolling on the ground the moment they hit it to get rid of the shock force and continue moving on

    • @marcosovideo
      @marcosovideo Před 8 lety +25

      Very true. But a landing roll takes practice, not something most humans do by instinct. Cats do their own landing by instinct with no previous instruction.

    • @TrueInvisible
      @TrueInvisible Před 8 lety +2

      you do know that land rolling parkour style is literally the easiest technique to learn right? you can learn it in 5 minutes, and master it after 1 day of normal training, not even hard or severe just normal training...
      so saying "not something most humans can do by instinct" ... can you simply roll around yourself on the ground? you know put your both palms before your face and roll over your spine in a single straight line before your eyes by kicking yourself with your feet very lightly on the ground? that in itself is something all kids learn how to do very early! the parkour roll is very similar, you just roll not straight line but diagonally an that's it!

    • @kingkirby8960
      @kingkirby8960 Před 8 lety +2

      +Invisible What's the highest height someone can fall and roll from?

    • @TrueInvisible
      @TrueInvisible Před 8 lety +3

      if you are a parkour expert with the landing zone being either a garden = soil and grass, or a training arena = rubber and secured flooring, then i bet you should be able to land roll at least from the height of 2 to 3 floors, depending on your angel, if you're still a novice or just began if you're above soil or rubber enhanced flooring for training, you should at least be able to land roll from the height of 1 floor or one and half a floor, the more the floors number you jump from the farther you'll travel using the roll, or so i think, of course there are some heights where you can not roll from because the landing will be too tough even for you to handle, i'm not a parkour player nor am i training but from the reading knowledge and the videos i watched and specially from 3Run family videos and others you can get such conclusion

    Cats are smarter and more capable than you think. Your balance and coordination can be affected by your diet and genetics. A purebred cat on a dry food diet isn't as strong as a wild cat or moggy. I've seen cats jump over 8ft. Studies suggest cats can fall as far as 20 stories and survive with little to no injuries.
