You forgot about turning off the pump when you first went around the lake, follow the intake lines, then open up the cover, and 3 cap boxes fall out. At the top of the hill when you looked at the satellite dish, scan to your left at the brush pile is a hidden camp site with some loot. Some of the medicine cabinets in Sanctuary will also have bobby pins.

Pretty sure there's a guaranteed bobby pin in the Overseer's office in one of the filing cabinets - at least, I'm like... 90% sure it's guaranteed?

even as a Fallout 4 Veteran, i didnt even know about some of these tips, i knew about the root cellar, the dead raider/hound, and dogmeat but i didnt know there was loot near that statue, and i didnt know about the power armor

I just started my watchthrough with my twitch friends on the fallout show. Just finished ep1 this week and love it already. I'm planning on hoping back now onto fallout 4 after not touching it since 2017. Getting that itch to replay it again after so long. so looking forward to these fallout videos.
i really hope that this next update will fix the textures for the DLCs as well as making automatron actually playable. been playing nuka recently as i just got it again and everything is pink, and i can’t even play the game while automatron is installled since it just crashes during the loading screen

Restarted a playthrough this weekend after watching the Amazon show .... Stupid game has its hooks in deep again. Warning to all new players out there, you'll start playing on a Friday night after work then .. poof .. Sunday afternoon just magically shows up. I almost forgot i was old and need to adult.

Great video Blunty! Will be sure to check back up on this video when the update drops! You pointed out something that made it click in my head. Bethesda does an excellent job at guiding new players in the early game. Something that I haven't considered with that path that is frequently used. Also, the amount of goodies that you have gotten is pretty sweat! This video will definitely help people get on their feet quickly. It is really nice to get back into the Fallout franchise, as the show is such a treat to watch!
Off-topic, but I've been playing the Tales of Two Wastelands modpack, and it is such a pleasant way to enjoy Fallout 3. I've never gotten a chance to play through the Fallout 3 dlcs, but I am having a pleasant time with Broken Steel so far. :)
yeah, take a long slow look next new game you start, it's AMAZING how naturally they guide your path and your eyes to the next objective/useful location, and to the first MSQ. All without a single quest-marker. One of the best examples of this kind of immersive guidance I've ever seen

It the place you picked up the snub nose, if you follow the pipe to the river, you can deactivate a pump. Go back up, the gray compartment left of the skeleton opens and you can get a couple cap stashes.

i finished the game several times and i never know there is a mole cavern under the gas station lol, super useful tips, just started a new run waiting for the update and i did all your tips to be prepared for the wasteland

What should you leave at the workshop exactly? Like ammo too or stuff like tin cans or what not and can’t you sell those stuff?
I played the game at launch on PS4 and got about half way through before a bug prevented me progressing (oddly enough I can't recall what it was). I have now purchased the GOTY upgrade as I patiently wait for the patch to give the game another go so videos like this are super helpful! What starting stats would you recommend?
I have no "one" recommendation for stats... in fact, right now I'm mulling over what kind of build I want for my own new playthough LOL. There are plenty of build guides, watch a few, get a "vibe" for what feels like what you wan to play like... but don't worry too much about Min-maxing a build, you don't need to... so feel free to "fiddle" with other people's recommended builds.
Intelligence and Charisma. That's what gets me through real life. 😉

So it will missions that glitched etc? I've done the story but would still like to help Concord right at the start and interact a bit with the minute men whom I did want to side with in the story but couldn't.
Playing it through again, but stopped after the whole "Minutemen" thing started... I want to wait until it works flawlessly on the Steam Deck, and then I'll be sorted for a long while to come :) Thanks for some tips, and things I've even missed in the YEARS this game has been out..
first i ran to get dogmeat then stopped playing a few weeks bcs i wanted power armor and had no ammo only a baton but after youre video man i have now a power armor and 3 fusion cores and some good ammo capicity i didnt even knew there was a power armor that close to sanctuary and i have completed the game before 🤣🤣🤣

I'm a first time player I'm starting when the next gen upgrade drops anyway I heard you mentioned settlement building and that seems a little overwhelming so is that optional or required
It's optional... Ther's a small amount you'll need to do for one quetsline/companion, but no... you can leave it alone if you prefer.
I hope we can side with the Enclave somehow with this Enclave quest. Hopefully will tie in with the sparse other Enclave elements in Fallout 4.
I loved the show but never played a Fallout game. Should I wait for the update that is in two days from now or start Fallout 76?

Me too, it's been awesome seeing all the newbies flood into 76, looking forward to seeing what the FO4 Next-Gen update does (the game's already had a spike in players of course, but I'm expecting there's a lot like me who've been waiting).
I’ve never played Fallout 4. I love the show. I have a pretty beefy PC. I think I’ll give it a go. Are there mods that make the graphics better?
The modding community is quite healthy for FO4 yes, including many graphics ones of various kinds.
Yeah, but, beware. The next-gen update is arriving on the 25th of April this year. If the mods you use, use a thing called the script extender, they will break.
For graphics/weather mods, I highly recommend:
* NAC - Natural and Atmospheric Commonwealth (or NAC X, which is a different more recent/finalized version, both are good, but read some reviews on both as NAC X has some visual issues.)
There are tons of texture and lighting mods that can make fallout 4 look pretty good. I would wait to get into modding until the next gen update comes out and script extender is fixed first though

Does it break the mods. İ usually play with sim settlements. I was worried this update will outdate all the mods ı usually played with and since it is an old game mods are rarely updated.
it will break most mods that require F4SE (Fallout 4 Script Extender) but the fallout 4 modding community is pretty healthy, so most mods will probably be updated within a week or so, and for Sim Settlements kinggath will probably have it updated as soon as F4SE is updated. so i wouldnt worry about having to go vanilla for more than a week, also if your on steam/GOG you can pause updates for the game, and just update to the NGU when the mods get updated. but thats just my guess, i would take it with a grain of salt.

Nope, the update should be seamless with existing save files. BUT... if you're only at Good neighbor, at least you're not losing too much time if you do ~choose~ to restart for whatever reason.

You ABSOLUTELY DO NOT "need" a video like this to enjoy Fallout 4... when I played it at launch I went in TOTALLY BLIND... never even played a fallout game at all before, I didn't google anything, I didn't follow any guides, and I still had a BLAST! .. . it also would have been useful to know earlier how much better my start could have been, hence this video... some people DO like to go in to game s like this a little extra prepared.

First playthough? Go Vanilla, little point modding till you know what kinds of mods change things you consider would be useful to change for you.

I aint had any problems at all with fallout 4 though it dont crash and it dont even lag since I got a one x and the mods work fine too so waiting for the update to break everything 🤣

Aside from making it work properly at modem resolutions (and ultrawides etc) don't expect much change... I feel they would have mentioned it in the announcement article if that were the case. I too was hoping for a boost... Like updating the lighting engine to the one the used in Starfield, which was noticeably better. Oh well.

There is no reason to farm for a materials in this buggy version But I enjoy the game more with dubbed items. I tried to play with mods but I didn't enjoy it with mods on ps4. I enjoy the original game.🎉😅😊
Am i wrong here the update is what pc players have had from the start and after 9 years they've decided to fix the bugs and stability issues.....oh and console players get 60fps on a 9 year old game.... am i wrong in saying this is pretty pathetic and shows incompetance.

Way wrong. There was an HD update that replaced the textures but the next gen update will help it run better on newer gen stuff. Console and PC. And I'm excited because now I can play a game I love maxed out on my rtx4080. If they remaster Fallout 3 I'll be playing that as well. If they remake Fallout 1, 2 or NV I'll be playing those as well. Just because you don't love something it doesn't mean that someone out there (majority of people in gaming from the looks of it) still likes/loves it. You don't have to play it you know. It can't hurt you.
I guess you never crashed to desktop, everyone else had that bug since launch when entering the Boston downtown region.

Re-downloaded the game out of my library on my PS5 . Wanting to check out the new update coming in a couple days. Can’t even get the game to launch just error codes out. Tried restoring the license no luck. Is this a known issue?
