Regardless of the high depreciation and the little issues that some of the AMG’s are known for I would still buy one.
I almost did, only went with ctsv because I personally like the looks better, and they are way cheaper to fix.
AMG ftw. Just buy one with lower miles that was taken care of even if it costs a bit more.
I went from an e90 325i to a CLS55 AMG and i'll never go back ever, I love my v8 supercharged AMG puts a huge smile on my face constantly and the performance is godly!

All im gonna say is. if you can barely afford to do anything with a honda or arent making much money you shouldn't buy any used german car. if you aren't mechanically inclined you shouldn't own a used german car. just because the car depreciates doesn't mean the parts do plus more rarity of parts and most auto stores don't carry most german car parts

Really depends what German car you get. It's expensive as hell to own AMG, RS or M car but if you buy a 4 pot diesel it's not bad at all. I currently own 2013 C220 CDI wagon with 6 speed manual and maintenance costs is 250€-500€ per year.

I've had my 04 CLK 500 for just over 9 years now and still love it like day 1. Although not an AMG, still just over 300hp but a good savings on some of the parts. None of my friends understand why i fight with my tail lights randomly going out, the 3 hours i spent changing a cps, the mystery of the ever running seat motor or the amount of money i had to spend on used bi-xenon headlights when mine melted.........................until they get in the passenger seat of my 16 yr old car and withing 10 seconds they are all like holy shit and looking for a grab handle.

I’ve yet to see an AMG depreciate, like everyone claims they do. Unless you by an old one with 100k on the dash. Majority of them going for 30-50k
100k km die 13k, luxury interior, 500hp and the AMG badge isn't bad. With the E55 you really just have to get rid of the air suspension and fix the complicated braking system. The engine is very reliable... For a 10+ year old super sedan.
S63 AMG. For well optioned ones, many were $170k+ new. Aside from the old ones, new ones depreciate like hell too. Now you can find a 2017 one (only 2 years old) for $85-$95k (depending on condition and options) with fairly low miles (roughly 15k). Hell, there are even “new” 2017 S63’s sitting at $50k under MSRP with 0 miles. Take any 911 for example. Any with the same MSRP and mileage will trade for 10’s of thousands more.

One thing I’ll say is if you’re going to buy a used W204 C63 besides headbolts there’s the ESL failure THAT WILL OCCUR. Stealership wants 1800 till this day to change it but if you want you can change the motor in the ESL yourself for 25 dollars

My dad and me used to be very big fans of BMW, in fact may dad was driving a e92 335i but last year he bought a Mercedes GLC 43 and we are in love. Dad always says "Every dollar is worth it". Now my mum drives the BMW.

I told this story on another video, but I owned a 2011 c63 with the 6.2.
Great car, amazing car actually, but I heard horror stories about maintenance when I purchased. So I bought like 4000$ aftermarket warranty (I paid 30gs for the car), and I owned the car for about 3 years before I sold it and traded up for my m4 comp. Not once, NOT ONCE, did it go into the shop in the 3 years I owned, and I drove her hard. Aggressive up/downshifts, revving the motor out to 7k rpm, slides, burnouts you name it. I TRIED to break that car but that motor proved to bulletproof. I'm honestly wondering to myself how that car didn't throw a code once in those abusive 3 years with everything I've heard about that motor lol.
When I went to sell the car, I got as much of the warranty money back as I could, but even without paying out once on the policy I only reclaimed about 2900 bucks from the original 4000. So essentially I payed a little over 1000 dollars for "piece of mind."
Moral of the story: Understand and assume the risk when buying a used Benz, but also be skeptical about what issues you hear that comes with a used Benz from others, both here online, and in real life. Particularly, steer away from the advice of those that have never lived with one, theres a reason those people talk the cars up like they do but never actually commit to their dream. And that reason is "maintenance"

You forgot they're the only sports sedans and coupes with room for your hat. The head clearance is insane, and actually made that way for older, hat-loving professionals, haha. Seriously, it's an amazing experience owning one, and pushing over 500 at the wheels while feeling like you're cruising at speed on your couch is pretty hard to beat.

Owning a W203 C32, W211 E55 and a R171 SLK55 I can honestly say, this video is on point....
Bought a AMG just over a year ago and everything you say is true, have some money saved up if you getting a older one as it will have some issues, but once you sort them out over time, the miles of smiles more than make up for it.
Fitment is lucky to have a guy like Alex, my man knows how to present and his speech and body language is on point. Perfect salesman.
You hit the nail on the head friend. I had a w204 C63 and didn't learn my lesson. Now I have a cls63 on Rohanas, KWs, and a tune. It's a constant battle between maintenance costs and buying more mods, but totally worth it on the smiles per dollar scale. Cheers

I've had my 02 CLK55 AMG for a few years now and I still enjoy it to this day especially when a cute little mustang or Corvette comes up on my baby on the interstate 😉
Currently finishing up on an m113k (s55 engine) on my 01 clk55 amg. Best of both worlds, light and even faster, oh and no reliability issues other than occasional maintenance. Amg are awesome, period.

Up to now, it's one of the most effortlessly attractive Mercs of all time (even if the V12 would bring me to tears)

Anyone with an air suspension AMG should put aftermarket airbags(Air Ride, Accuair etc etc) on it from the get go. I will forever maintain that.
Cost roughly the same as fixing, beter reliability.

I have an 04 e55 and I love it. I Drove it from Cali to ATL and back with no issues, but now I have to replace the radiator. Other than that, it’s a great car. I still want to mod it tho

S Class AMG is the dopest car I have ever been in. They are the best, sport luxury, heaven on wheels.
I owned two Mercedes-Benz, an 03 CLK430 (my buddy flipped it dodging a car that pulled out in front of him) and an 03 CLK500 (sold it because I was starting a family). I absolutely loved those cars and will own another Mercedes-Benz. And yes the CLK500 shit on the rug once or twice but damn it was great owning that car and very fun to drive.
I've always wanted an AMG pref the C63 w/ p31 package and have owned a e92 m3, m4, x5m, but my latest is the RCF. I was looking into the C63s but I knew it'd be a terrible long term ownership. I'm glad I went with a used RCF, but one day i'll eventually get my hands on a C63 if its for a good price. People forget that you don't only have the car payments, but the maintenance of the car as well. Even if you do it yourself, you'll still have to spend money and there's just things you can't do on your own that'll require a MB master technician. The worst part is the depreciation, even though cars are bad investments, you want the most out of it at least, and every thousands in the reselling matters.

Alexander Chohan from what I’ve heard they just have bad maintenance needs. And they’re impractical for maintenance check ups or repairs. Idk don’t quote me it’s just what I’ve heard I’m only 7

The reason why they depreciate like bricks is because even though Merc tech is state of the art it isn't 100% reliable.
So when they go wrong you'll be spending big bucks on small things and even more on large things. Not to mention they're hard to work on.
I love AMGs. I just don't wanna own one.

I just bought a 2019 C300 coupe 4 cylinder 2.0t 4matic AMG Line, Night package , Mojave Silver for $32,000 with only 18k miles out the IAA auction with just cosmetic damage such as missing passenger fender and rocker panel, now I’m just waiting for the paint. It isn’t a Legit AMG but man is that Car sexy! I still own my Mk5 GTI haha that’s the family Jewel 💯

I own a 2000 E55 (W210) and 2015 C63, 507 Edition Coupe (W204) both are amazing rides. My first AMG cost about 10,000 plus to make it work like a brand new one. Since I bought used whoever owned had it as an everyday car but it didn't keep with the maintenance so the car was barely working. I bought after taking the car to my local Mercedes Benz dealership for a pre buy inspection and came with $7,000 dollars in repairs. So from 2010 to 2016 my car second home was then dealership. Since 2017 under my ownership the car hasn't break or malfunctioned. Also it is not longer an every day car so I have it as a collector item in my garage and as weekend car. My second car a 2015 C63 was leased originally and then when the leased was up in 2018 I decided to buy it. This car in my ownership for 4 years has not given me any problem. Nowadays my regular every day is a Range Rover Sport Autography V8 with 510 HP and I love it. The key to own a car and be happy is the MAINTENANCE don't go cheap on that and also don't use your car as an experiment monkey because you will end unhappy.

The number of non-amg clips was amusing. On my sixth AMG (C36,C43, C32, C63 pre-fl, C63 fl, & C63S) and I only ever had an issue with my C32 after Eurocharged did their tcu tune. Besides that, and over a span of 13 years, it has been all fluid changes & preventive maintenance like plugs and cops. Bulletproof cars that will make you laugh even on a 2 min drive that you can count how many times the hoods been popped on one hand.
I love my W211 E63 I’ve had it for 5 years now and still love to drive and look at it
