Instead of, for example : car drawing, no letter, etc...

Hello Paul, The correct but not infallible way is to use the negative Prompt: --no words or letters or also --no fonts at the end and before the aspect ratio. Thanks for sharing your work!
In principle anything that you na not create automatically is a winner. As in life. If it’s easy anyone would do it. For children’s activity books or road-trip activity books that are well made you need to do research, be good in illustration etc.
One issue is AI. Which is copyright issue. There are issues of AI copyright already because AI pictures are using existing drawings and photos as data to create a new picture. A book company (quite big one)I’m working with, not in the UK, it’s an overseas company is now banned all books involving AI, including front cover, story, drawings. It used to sell AI books but banned after couple of months. KDP doesn’t have that restriction right now but you can still get sue even you pay for commercial license in whatever AI software. I personally either draw the cover myself using Procreate or buy a license of a human artist’s work so even if that artist used AI and my creation get sued, it will be the artist’s problem, not mine.

I'm amazed that people buy such books when everyone is on their Iphone. I host foreign students. I often offer to write something down for them and just look and me like I'm crazy and go back to looking at their phones. Although. I've just listed a non-fiction book on kdp. I'm not really expecting any sales but you never know.
8:06 Wow! That is such a horrifying image of a boy with 1 extra arm holding a weapon and some entity in the background. The cover needs a lot of reworking to produce a better quality book. Although, I would say that the book has that nostalgic kid road trip vibe and your color selection rocks. Hi Paul, is it possible to make a video on making a kindle ebook in amazon. And how to make images and try to have it in color. Because even you use a colored templates with backgrounds and images, your kindle will be black and white. it'll nice from you :)
Do you have any tips on how to remove extensive shading and unwanted elements in a generated image? For instance, I have some generated material that has thicker outlines and/or shaded areas (hair of a person) for a coloring book and I need to remove the shading to make it more user coloring friendly. Thanks!
The easiest way would probably be to convert it into a vecotr and then edit it in software such as Affinity Designer, Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape.

Thank you for creating such nice and intuitive videos. I have some doubts that I would like you to address, if possible.
1. With hundreds of thousands of people around the globe doing this business, do you think there is a chance for a person to start now ? From the content of this video, I personally find 4000 options for a customer to choose from is a no go. I dont think one would buy a no-review book compared to a 5-star competitor.
2. Some companies invest in this business, and spend hundreds of USD on ads for a single item to maximize sales. How would one compete with them having no money to invest?
1. Yes there is. 2. Compete by creating good qaulity books and there's plenty of free marketing options you can employ.
Greetings Paul, a question, do you have a course or mentoring where you teach a step by step on how to make these books publish them and make Amazon ads?
Q: Another thing I've been wondering for a while: how does it work when you create a physical book or journal (or whatever KDP you created)you have to send to people? Do you pay for the costs first (like the mugs on Amazon) or does the customer pay for that and you, the publisher, get your profit when everything is printed and deliverd? Maybe it sounds stupid, but I can't find the answer anywhere. Is that somewhere in one of your (fine!!!) youtube videos. But where? Or am I asking too much? (I'm Dutch, we ask the weirdest things!)
TL;DR - You need to purchase the ISBN to sell your physical books which Amazon KDP does NOT do.
Surprised this wasn't answered. Yes, you have to pay for the ISBN number if you're selling physical copies. This will NOT make money because it's a digital version of the book, an ebook. If it's an activity book it needs to be written in. So no offense to Paul but this concept isn't going to work. The market for KDP books with AI are all ebooks since nobody wants to pay for the ISBN to sell physical copies. All youtubers are sharing this concept but they leave out that fact you have to have an ISBN number for your book to sell it physically. Great information, but that's a very key detail to leave out.
@@artificial-ryan I created a physical book some time ago on Amazon and used their ISBN number tho I purchased my own but did not use them. It does limit you because you cannot publish that book elsewhere with that ISBN number as it belongs to Amazon unless that changed recently!
When a customer buys a book, Amazon creates it and sends it to the customer. Out of the price of the book Amazon takes their fees and you then get a percentage of what is left as royalties.

Let’s think outside the box. If you are getting your own isbn, it will cost u $100 something but u can publish everywhere. Why don’t buy it if you know yours can sell, free isbn Kdp just let it sell and the paid kdp u can go for global publishing.

Mid Journey AI question about your book cover suggestions... Can you ask MId Journey to re-think/ re-do the book cover suggestions with no words or car logos? I know with chatgpt4+ u can keep pushing it and asking it to make revisions to its suggestions. thank you
Great question! I was wondering this too.
It' s not that simple. KDP is Saturated. Unless you are willing to do Amazon Ads to rank in the top two rows, this is a waist of time. It will take about $5-10 a day to keep you at the top to make sales and to out rank other top sellers. After you have sold more than the competition.... then you can stop the ads. Using good keywords Help... but not enough.. unless you have something Super unique.

Didn't Amazon stop giving free barcodes to journals, notepads, and sketchbook products? Anything with repeating pages.
That removes free features, and Amazon no longer pushes those items to the top.
An activity book shouldn't have repeating pages inside, so it probably is a medium content rather than low content book.
They don't give free ISBNs to low content books. You have the option to purchase one or publish without.

I've found adding in terms like black and white, lined drawing, coloring book image may reduce the number of shaded images.
Hi Paul. Just found your channel and loving it. One request - when you mention Publisher Rocket please let folks know it is not web based and requires an installation that is only available for Windows and Mac users. It doesn’t work on my Chromebook or iDevices. Found out the hard way after I had paid for it! Luckily they refunded me.
Love your content, but one question: how come youtubers give away all this info to thousands of viewers, if these books and niches are really profitable don't you want to keep it to yourselves? Or does making youtube content like this bring you more revenue? :)
Creating books is a business and CZcams is a business. I have a long list of niches, I don't have the time to pursue them all and I like creating videos that provide value otherwise it would be a waste of time having a channel. I also don't believe in the idea that niches get saturated like many do, so there's plenty to go around.

I noticed your Aspect Ratio & was just wondering why you went with it over --ar 2:3 or --ar 9:11?

It was becasue you can't use 8.5:11 so I was trying to get somewhere near to that. However, I've since realised you can put 85:110 to get the correct ratio.
@@paulmarles Ahh, that makes a lot of sense. I get anxious about choosing the wrong Aspect Ratio because I'm new & don't want to "waste" previous creations.
But I assume loosing a little off the edge isn't too big of an issue with something like a coloring book.
At the very least, they'll get better over time. I just want to make a quality product.
I use 17:22 for MJ aspect ratios. It is the same as 8.5 to 11 where MJ does not accept partial numbers

Good question. I tend to convert my images to vectors anyway but I have recently started upscaling all my images. I'm publishing a video soon on that.

Is it common for kdp to keep a low content book 'in review' for 10 business days? Just wondering if it will always be a delay like that when I publish anything.
Kindly check you email, in case Amazon sent you anything to correct. It doesn't usually take Amazon up to 3 business day to approve a book, except it doesn't meet up to their standard.
Not normally. About a week is the maximum I've experienced. Check the book hasn't gone back into draft and check your emails in case there is an issue with the book.

No. When a customer buys a book Amazon prints it out and sends it to the customer.

It doesn't plagiarize images in that it doesn't take slices of other images already out there and mash them together.

@@paulmarles it does. If you do some research you will find out there are issues already. Especially with mid journey. Many AI artists online don’t recommend selling AI art using mid journey. The problem is the software stole data from many websites without permission. Basically it used arts and drawings without buying a license from or even contact the original artist.

Amazon will close your KDP account anytime without any clear reason. Making money with Amazon KDP is just a terrible idea and very unstable...
Hi Paul, don't take me wrong but I cannot understand why videos like this even exist. I mean that must be pure altruism (and that's good) otherwise why aren't you taking advantage of niches like this one. If you check again a couple of weeks later, you'll see that results won't be 4000 anymore ;)

Just a quick comment. Yes you have to check number of fingers, legs, arms etc but V5 of Midjourney is better
I've begun publishing a couple of journals and some notary books on Amazon KDP. Today I received an email stating my account has been temporarily suspended and I don't understand why. The designs are my own and are not similar to anyone else that I know of. I'm told I have to remove the ones that don't comply and I don't know which ones they could be before my account will be reinstated.
Have you contacted KDP support to see if they can tell you why or which books are a problem?

Fact that MIDJOUNREY keeps image in its database and can be used for other people or company use, is concerning since Amazon do not like images used by other people in different books, unless public domain or stock images licensed.
Ai scrapes other people’s work. This can have a factor for being sued or banned.
It’s a real shame because I’d really like to use AI for images but have come to conclusion it’s a risk factor from a legal point.
I’d recommend using Freelance verified artist that has been working for more than 5 years.
