Dave is the youngest out of three boys and his mum raised them on her own for most of Dave’s life. So you can imagine Dave looked up to his brothers. Both are serving time in prison. One for bank fraud who had to serve 4 years and his other brother was sentenced for life because of murder but has a minimum of 18 years. Apparently he didn’t do it though and Dave says this in his Bl@ckbox freestyle when Dave was only 16. Dave was very emotional in this freestyle and people say it’s in the top 2 of bl@ckbox freestyles next to another rapper called berna

The accent at the beginning is mild Received Pronunciation. It’s not a regional accent.
Basically every middle class person across England (no matter where they are from) speak like that. It’s why historically there has been accent discrimination in the Uk a lot as people with regional accents tend to be from working class backgrounds and may be considered ‘less intelligent’ because of their accent (which obviously isn’t true)
Also class is very different in the UK to the US. Historically, Race has been the biggest divide in the US politically. But in the UK, the class system is the main divide (although race of course is still an issue here)
Class in the UK isn’t just a case of how much money one makes. In fact, many working class people will make more money than some middle class people. The class comes from family background. It’s all about education, did you go to public school (private) or state school? Did your parents go to university? Do you go to a Russell group uni? Etc.
So yeah in the UK, middle class people will speak with no ‘regional accent’. And middle class doesn’t mean average. As being middle class tends to refer to very privileged people.
So yeah, a lot of the professionals in society and nearly all politicians (sadly) are middle class, or upper class (the historically rich fucks who went to the historical public boarding schools like Eton, Harrow etc)

There's a prison sentence for carrying most weapons in the UK so they reference someone else holding it because usually the "top guy" isn't risking his freedom like that. It could have drugs in it but they're not talking about drugs when they reference it. I would definitely recommend watching Dave act in the series Top Boy on Netflix. It'll show you a lot more about how black people live in London.
