    What is acceptable Straitness. I just recieved McDermott oct cue of the month. It wobbles on the table. I see light under the shaft that comes and goes as it rolls. I put bout 4 inches of shaft on rail and roll and it seems straight. Rolling shaft alone is straight looking. All together it looks like it wobbles.

    So do you guys at McDermott have a mad scientist in house or is there some sort of "go see the pool cue wizard on the small hill in texas and he will give you the magical shafts" type of guy who mastered all of this decades ago and gave you the honor of producing the shafts the gods taught him to make when they blessed him and said "you shall be called Jerry and you shall make the greatest cues man has ever stroked or poked things with"? Just out of curiosity.

    You would think a marketing video would have better sound quality than this. Didn't he view/listen to it before uploading it?

    The original D series Mc Dermotts were the zenith of this cue company after which they have struggled to catch up. Jacoby is the cue to consider because their design, workmanship as well as their playability has surpassed just about anything else at the price point of their cues

      WOW thats awesome to know. I actually through a series of trades got my hands on a D-7 for get this FREE!! Little lengthy explanation but a fellow Viking user had an old butt that was busted near the cap and just let me have it. Not even 2 weeks later a guy walks in the bar and is a big Viking fan as well and trades me the entire D-7 for the Viking butt. So as far as playability is concerned the D series all play great? The only problem is the shaft was badly warped, so I'm going to order the G core shaft at 12.5mm. I was hoping the video had some testing in there, how is the g core compared to the i2 or i3 and other performance shafts?

      Go to McDermotts website and click on "Pool Cues", then look for "featured pages" the to "Retired Cues"...

    I2 saft is great, Its soo much better than any standart cues that I have used. Now I have Star brand jump cue iwth ferrule tip and Im not satisfied with it. The jumps are not consistend and tried one other jump cue that had orange tip and its jump were way more stable and controllable. So I am looking into I1 big boy saft. It has hard leather tip. How it handles in real play, consistend jumps or fly over everywhere like the star black ferrule tip does?
    Actually been playing with star jump cue for 1 year and I do not recommend the cue. The metal ring at bottom of the cue will come lose. Also the irish linen wrap start to lose from end of the cue on its own. Star pool cues are worth 50$ and way over priced cues.

      I bought in to the hype and finally got a revo. I've always played with meucci and maybe I need to get used to the revo but I'm playing better with my meucci pro shaft.

    Overseas = China. I bought a Cuesoul for $ 30 and it's better the mcdermott entry level hands down.

      toadsonytwo do you know if pure x cues are good?

    • @toadsonytwo
      @toadsonytwo Před 7 lety +1

      Owen Monast never seen anyone playing with one. honestly i stick with meucci and joss because i grew up with them. Cues i avoid are mcdermott, viking, and cuetech. Older cues are better than the newer cues also.

      toadsonytwo yeah I've been looking for classic looking cues lately and I came across the pure x HXTE5 but I have no idea if it's a good cue or not but there's only one way to find out I guess

      You should add "IMO" to your original post. Having a couple of videos of you playing pool doesn't make you an expert on cues.

      Ive been playing for 34 years i think ive earned the right to state what cues are crap.
