Naran is on altitude of around 8000 feet above the sea level. Different locations of Naran has different altitude but peaks have even higher altitude. Top events of Naran are Rafting in river Kunhar, beautuful drive with site seeing, Saif ul Malook Lake, Baser, Jalkhand, Lulusur lake, Lalazar, Babusur lake and lot of others. Travelling on Raft / boat is really amazing experience and great fun. Lakes should be visited before 12 pm because water is stagnant in morning and beautiful reflection of mountains and snow white peaks can be seen. After 12 pm, lake has small waves and beauty of reflections is minimised. Babusur is on 13700 feet above sea level and oxygen level is very low. Visitors should keep dry apricot in mouth and chew gradually to generate more oxygen helping lungs to take good breath. Few people coming from low altitude are not acclimatised with high altitude and face breathing problems especially after running. Low power Vehicles like 800 to 1600 cc cars face issues of pick/power to reach at high altitude of Babusur because of steep road and low supply of oxygen to engine to get good spark. If vehicles are in good condition, people reach slowly like my car of 1300 cc. Trout fish can be caught from beautiful blue splashing River Kunhar after getting permit of fishing from local authorities. Office is situated in main market.
Lot of water falls, streams, lush green mountains, beautiful view of river Kunhar, snow peaks, rocky peaks, Glaciers, and trees can be seen during drive. Especially drive between Naran and Babusur is the most beautiful drive of the world. It is advised to keep pressure of 35 in tiers of car because its cold in northern areas but this does not apply when vehicles come down on low altitude in high temperature areas.
Kaghan is the major valley in which there are many valleys like Naran, Shogran, Sharan etc. Every valley has its own beauty. Most of the local people speak Hindco and Pushto but can also speak Urdu which is close to Hindi. Few people can also speak English. In winter area is almost freeze because of heavy snow fall and low temperature. Because of poor arrangements/resources people move to areas of slightly low altitude like Balakot, Mansehra and others.
Started journey from village Shamsabad of Tehsil Hazro and district Attock. Passed through ancient and rish historical town Taxila. Traveelled on Grand Trunk Road, also known as GT Road and reached Islamabad / Rawalpindi Bahria Town to Pick a kid Salar. We exit from Hazara Motorway from Mansehra and reached Naran in night, passing through Balakot, Kaghan and other small villages/towns. We call him Sally or Landy. Reached Naran in night.
Pakistan is the worlds top destination having different landscapes of worlds highest mountains, deserts, coastal highways, villages and historical heritage. Best time to travel South and Central Punjab in Pakistan is winter and for Northern part best time is winter. Months of june, July and August are not recommended to visit Pakistan because of extreme hot weather, over crowded north region and then rains in August. Best Months to visit Northern area Skardu, Gilgit, Swat, Phunder, Chitral, Hunza etc. are May and September. To visit historical locations like Lahore, Harappa, Kartarpur, Mohinjodaro best months are October to March to enjoy in pleasant and December January cold weather.
