      It was a bit of a challenge putting this trip together. We had it lined up twice previously only to have ice conditions or severe winter weather force a cancellation.

    Is that a prototype that your trying out or just another brand of bit all together?

    Wonder if that would of been a shallow water bite situation where fishing with lead or plastic would of out shined tungsten?

    • @InDepthOutdoorsTV
      @InDepthOutdoorsTV  Před 5 lety +1

      We tried both. Fish wouldn't even approach plastics of any kind. They were fussy!

    • @drtdbbt2588
      @drtdbbt2588 Před 5 lety

      @@InDepthOutdoorsTV Okay, I was more or less wondering because it was mentioned the fish fed mostly on insects due to the lack of a minnow based forage or no minnow base. So being tungsten is heavier to use especially in shallow lake where fish primarily feed on insects the old debate whether tungsten vs. lighter lure material for a fish to inhale(bite) may have increased your catch. Course the weather, equipment/line, location, the fish, etc... all factor in also to know whether or not your lure choice was the best presentation to use on that particular day.
      My initial post(subject) just came to mind when watching this episode based off my past experiences, but was experienced many times in shallow water ice fishing bites where lets say a Purist(plastic body ice fishing jig) out shined using a lead tear drop jig. Course those experiences and days were long before the days of using tungsten jigs for ice fishing, lol.
      Jame's old memories of DG reports and the InFisherman Staff's TV shows and written articles about the prairie ponds and waters of Nebraska's Valentines had myself in "Awh" back years ago also. Thanks Jame's for this InDepthOutdoorsTV episode, I had forgotten all about the Valentine area Nebraska. Mark it down back on my ice fishing Bucket List!!!
