this dude knows how to demo and review a kit!
I find myself resorting to this channel more and more (especially since Nolly doesn't take part in the "Drummer's Review" channel's reviews anymore)
    props to you!
Also, I'd expect a close mic'd kit to sound less "true-to-life", even in demo and review type of situations, but surprisingly I find these videos seem to capture the real vibe of the instrument every time!
You allow the viewer to Get an actual
idea of how that kit would sound when tuned well (and played well!)

I own that set. In dragon wood finish. I put new heads in them when I got them. Been on stage with them several times. Great sound and excellent tones.

@@gewoonandy8755 I use Aquarian response 2 on the toms . Aquarian Force x on the snare. Aquarian Super kick 2 on the bass. They give a brighter sound with the bitch than with maple

Truly appreciated commenting section. I stole bits of drum tuning tips here and there. Factory and upgraded spec comparison is very intuitive. Love your videos. ❤ 🥁

Buy a roll of adhesive vinyl and make your own black dots for the batter heads. Stick with Yamaha, you can never go wrong.

Liked the thunder from the 16 inch floor tom. Any kit can be greatly improved with good heads and tuning. I own a Mapex Peacemaker snare and love the tuning range you get with the Soniclear bearing edges.

I think Mapex offers one of the best values in higher end drums with the Saturn line (I have Saturn III's, and will likely never part with them), but as you move down the lines, they aren't as competitive.
For a high quality budget level kit, I think I'd look at the Yama Stage Custom. Unlike that snare throwoff on this Mars, nothing about the Stage Custom's looks or feels cheap.

I must say since this is a sound demo that this drum kit sounds like a budget student drum set. Sorry.
