Ace is AWESOME. He comes off as so real...so funny, so in the moment happy...unlike the others.....it seams like when ace is laughing and Paul and Gene are next to him, they look like they are mad at Ace for turning the attention towards him....like that famous interview where Ace says he's a plumber...thats frickin awesome.

I love Ace, but they had a lot of talented people in their ranks. Not one of them was poor. Paul Stanley might be a dipstick these days, but back in the day he was a terrific songwriter and singer, and a decent (but sloppy) rhythm guitarist. He should have called it a day though in the mid 2000s.
I usually found myself watching Gene.

To a degree yes, but then it went up in booze and drugs. Today he’ll be concidered average. His solos sucks and compared to, let’s say Tommy Thayer he’s wagon trails behind in skills and technique.
But he was good - once.
He must have pissed off Paul and Gene to no end. Each time they tried to push some serious bullshit, he’d say something to deflate them 😂
They still carry a switchblade. He is epic. A real New York band

Ace also had the most sales of the four solo albums they did in 1978. It seams like every interview kiss did together with the original lineup ace is laughing having a good time. At the same time gene looks like hes pissed that ace is getting the attention, with Paul similar but not as bad.
Ace was/is always my favorite. That guy they have now, it's not bad
enough it's aces makeup, but he plays note for note as if it was ace. Since Paul and gene are kiss and the rest r just hired help it's their fault.
How much money is enough for these people?
At least the drummer while wearing peters makeup plays differently....meaning way way better. It's not an exact copy like with aces puppet clone
“The puppet clone” is an employee who does what he’s told to and is laughing all the way to the bank too.
While doing so he has been seen most of the world and getting his own signature Gibson.
the reason Paul and Gene were mad at Ace was that he is an amazing guitarist but in these days he wasnt the best bandmate, allways late, allways drunk he even admits it himself, he was just hard to work with
@@anakinB11 if gene and Paul did not want a drink, late and lazy guitarist then they should have picked someone else, cause that was ace from day one according to both of them

You really don't have all the worthy material without aces contribution. '73 to '79 maybe some of Creatures, but that's it. Ace is a large part of that stuff being so cool

@@whataboutrob442 The real Kiss died when Dynasty was released in 1979. The nail in the coffin was when Ace quit in 1982. Then Kiss became a lame 'hair band' until 1996 when Ace rejoined. Then Ace quit again in 2001. The Kiss of the last 22 years is a woeful, aging tribute band.

Kiss sounded like Kiss until about Destroyer. Well before Ace or even Peter left. Alive! had some great sounds coming from it.

I've always wanted to know how the heat produced by the smoke bombs doesn't expand the metal strings thus changing the tuning. Any ideas people ?
Ya know, ive never thought too deep into that but thats a really good question..
It does, eventually. It creates so much heat that he has to hold the guitar out from his leg, to prevent from being burned, and especially on Alive II you can hear how massively out of tune the last part of the solo spot is.
the smoke itself is not hot enough to do that. sorry. it would have to be constantly hitting the strings for a long time to cause any structural changes. the amount that it is on for Ace's stage solo is not enough to cause that.
@@LadyFairChildVideo The heat is generated from the magnesium flare, that fuels the oxidizing agent, in this case often potassium chlorate. Magnesium ignites at 622 degrees Celsius, you do the math.
Or you could try finding the 1978-79 interview in 'Guitar Player' magazine, where he goes into the specifics of both the construction of the early devices, and how one of them scarred his upper right leg during a solo.
@@ErikDeMann skin and cloth are not the same as metal. and smoke is not the same temperature as the source of the ignition. the smoke bomb in the guitar pickup cavity is far enough for the smoke or heat to not affect the string intonation. the ignited bomb would have to be awfully close to the strings to do any chemical change aka changing the tuning.
does that whole system get hot? yes, does it detune the guitar. no.
Why is Gene worth $400 million after fifty years of playing and Ace is worth only $1 million? Because Ace is a real ding dong. He is one of my all time favorite guitar players but that does not change who he is as a person and how he runs his finance.
