I bought mine as an open box purchase for 123.00 shipping included. Everything was in the retaped box. Mower, battery, charger, and owner's manual. Mine works great. Do not store the battery in a hot summer, or cold winter shed. It needs to be in a climate- controlled environment. Also, when you finish mowing, take a shower to let the battery sit and cool before you put it on the charger. And one more thing, as soon as the battery shows fully charged remove it from the charger. Leaving the battery on the charger all the time will shorten its life considerably. Mine are both three years old now and working fine. My son left his in the shed over the winter, and now it will no longer take a charge. Remember climate -controlled environment for your battery and you will be fine.

Does anyone know if the 40volt (7.0ah) battery fit in it instead of the 4.0ah

I don't think you can the compartment where the battery goes is only big enough for the 4.0 amp battery.
