Just saw Mads play with the Mads Men two nights ago - he was fantastic!
Wow! Just found this… Wonderful interpretation; very fine, appropriate guitar improv! Thanks…
It's easy to see why Jeff had super respect for John ❤
I love the dynamics. You truly captured the spirit of a classic.
To pay tribute to John's artistry, and with tone & technique fitting for the day is admirable. And John's the master of combining two themes together in the recap.
Lovely! Terrific performance. Arrived here directly from listing to some obscure John McLaughlin (Devotion). Bookmarked the album (Celebrating Jean-Luc Ponty: Live At Yoshi's) in my SPOTIFY play list. Thanks for posting!
Best cover I have listened to of this beautiful tune... Good work guys. > Mike Abraham!
Thanks a lot, Ken!
Yeah 🤘
excellent rendition!!!!!
Fabulous.
Very beautiful and sound is fantastic also!
Speechless! Simply magical!
A very nice rendition, thanks
Good stuff💯💯💯
Sheer beauty!
Outstanding! Hey Mads, I saw you with Stanley Clarke! One of my favorite MO pieces. The opening and closing melodies, particularly on piano as heard the album version, are some of the most beautiful that I've ever heard. Thanks for posting!
Awesome, Miles. Yeah, I am a big fan too!
excellent. No mean effort this considering they were playing a cover of one of the best fusion albums of 1975 and a composition of John McLaughlin with violin from another legend Jean Luc Ponty.....
From certain angles the violinist looks like a young John McLaughlin in his prime.
i am embarrassed to say that i liked it more than the original
Nice version, the guitar has a tough job to do and he does good ... has a great sound
Thank you.
👏👏👏👏👏…….a little little bit of the MXR flanger would be right….😉
why did you guys play the 15/16 part in 13?
also, if you'd like, I'd be happy to show you how the play the guitar part correctly :-)
@@galanmoore I would say if you are the guitar player here, you had better find your own way to capture the song's melody and dynamics, 'cause only John can play John. Since the way-too-soon passings of Jeff Beck and Larry Coryell, there is no living guitarist who can keep up with Mr McGlaughin
excellent but .....
Nice cover; guitar needs to work on the feel and flow slightly but super work overall and a valuable deconstruction of the essentials of a very beautiful work.
The opening chordal work laid down by the guitarist is too clipped and abbreviated. But his solo is very good later on. Less heavy metal and histrionic than McLaughlin's original and more bluesy and elegant with great feel and flow. I only wish it had been a little longer. Violinist also excellent on this version.
