I totally agree about the pacing point. I watched the first two creeds this week and felt they could have been cut down by ten or fifteen minutes, but in this one I left wishing it was 10 or 15 minutes longer. Once creed decides he's gonna fight dame the movie pretty much wraps up, I wish there was a bigger build up there. Overall I enjoyed it though!

Since Creed 2, the character development of the antagonists have been pretty good to amazing. Drago, though intimidating, was sympathetic, and I felt conflicted in who I was rooting for at the final fight. I like stories that make me feel that emotional conflict as it adds tension to the story. It leaves the ending open to anyone’s guess where you think to yourself “is there even a happy ending to this or is everyone going to walk away losing something?”
I can't wait to see this movie. I'm curious to see how Michael B Jordan pulled it off since this is his directorial debut. If this turned out great, maybe Michael could direct more Creed movies in the future

It’s interesting that the movies are named Creed as well, a lot of people don’t know this, but the meaning on the word Creed is a set of beliefs or aims that guide someone’s actions, so there’s a double meaning in the title of his last name, as well as what personally drives him to do the things he does, wether for himself, or, like we see in this movie, his belief that he’s responsible for Major’s character.
Really good film, better than I thought it’d be. Plot was pretty standard but the actors and storytelling did a really good job to make you sympathise for both guys and John Majors stole the show. Still kinda gutted that Stallone wasn’t in it. He brought such a warm presence in the previous 2.
Really excited to see how Majors plays his role in this movie. He has a powerful presence and gives off a classic actor type of vibe. I’m excited to see him in more movies
I feel like he could have looked at a picture of Rocky to imply that he had passed, but he still carries on the lessons that Rocky taught him. I just feel like after the bond they established in the previous films, there is no way Adonis wouldn't consult Rocky on such a major moment in his life. But I still consider the Creed movies a vital part of the Rocky continuity.

I just watched Star Trek the Voyage home and I hear you says Kirk was better off as a captain than an admiral and man oh man, its goo to know your movies. Nailed it! I think Sylvester slashed at Creed going on its own path but he forgot that he himself went thru the same journey. I mean, I missed Rocky but I think this movie should deserve its own spot in the boxing world.

I guess it's all subjective, but it feels like the Expanse got pretty lame by the end. The melodramatic villain and grandiose speeches to his crew. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at all of it.
Creed III was great and Michael B. Jordan did amazing with his directing debut. The chemistry between the characters, all of them felt convincing. The love, the disappointment, the obligation, the ego during confrontation. It was a great experience, and what I’ve always loved about the Creed films. I’m excited to see where the series continues!

This movie was so amazing, leading up to it I kept saying that from the look of it it looks to be the best movie in the trilogy and it totally delivered on that, Michael B Jordan is once again amazing, at the start of this movie Adonis is now in a much different place than where we left off in Creed 2 and I thought it was really interesting, especially due to the overall plot at hand, and the same goes for Tessa Thompson and their daughter, particularly the daughter, given what they have going on watching the interactions between these 3 was really engaging, Jonathan Majors’ character is fantastic, when he first comes onscreen he gives off this really pleasant friendly vibe and as the movie goes on and you learn his true intentions he becomes super intimidating, and man, this movie is intense, when I was watching the fight scenes in this movie I was like “Dear god, this is horrifying” The fight scenes in this movie are beyond brutal, which mainly comes from Jonathan Majors’ character really having an axe to grind with Adonis, this dude is not messing around and you really feel it, add on top of that the tension that happens outside the ring and you have what I think is easily the most intense movie in the entire trilogy, it’s also one of those movies where it starts off being good and then there’s a certain point in it where something happens, makes you go “Oh shit” and from there the movie just grips you tightly and never lets go, and the main reason I’m really pleased to say that I loved Jonathan Major’s character is because it finally fixed a problem that I felt was present in both Creed 1 & 2, which is that for as great as those movies are both of them had very weak antagonists, in the first movie it was just some random guy and in Creed 2 although Ivan Drago was cool I thought his son was pretty bland, in both Creed 1 & 2 the antagonists just felt like guys for Adonis to punch and nothing more, but in this movie he was actually a deep, 3 dimensional character with an engaging story behind him which easily makes him the best antagonist of the franchise, and there’s also a stylistic choice that they incorporated into the finale of this movie that I really liked, and surprisingly even though Rocky isn’t in this movie I didn’t feel his absence at all, a lot of people were questioning whether or not this movie could work without him and I think it did, I guess my only issue is that the flashback of Adonis and Damien’s childhood and what happened between them is cut up and spread throughout the movie and I wish they didn’t do that, I personally have never really been a fan of the storytelling technique of having a flashback and being like “We’re just gonna give you a little bit here and we’ll come back to it later” I wish they just told the whole thing to us all at once, all in all I thought this movie was fantastic, I was wondering if this movie would be able to live up to just how amazing it looked and it did, Michael B Jordan and Jonathan Majors were amazing, the tension in this movie was absolutely white knuckling and for being his directorial debut I think Michael B Jordan knocked it out of the park with this movie because I think it’s the best movie in the franchise. 10/10
I do feel that the training montages and fights in the Rocky movies, to be much more inspiring, motivational, exciting and exhilarating than the Creed movies.

Not on the level of the first two films but it will be hard for any movie to top this as my favorite of the year. The final fight is probably the best in the Rocky franchise, never was i so invested. I like anime and i practice boxing since i was 19 (i'm 36) and i can apreciate it since this is a movie, the "punch" tribute to Ashita no Joe and Dragon Ball was amazing. My only negatives is the music, which was the weakest from any Rocky movie and the training sequence. I also thought that they cut 15 minutes of the movie, but it was awesome anyway. If The Flash, Indy 5 and John Wick 4 don't deliver as much, this is gonna be my favorite movie of 2023.
You know, I agree with the point about the music. It needed a bit more majestic to go with raw. But it seems like MBJ wanted to take some creative chances with the movie, and I can appreciate that.
Rockys story is probably over even though they could fully end his story somehow. But it definitely gives creed more room to establish a solo franchise. can't wait to see it

I thought it was meh... Wasn't bad but didn't give me that Rocky feeling. The pacing was kinda all over the place. The final act needed to be fleshed out more. Give me a good reason to hate Dame. They had Stephen A Smith quickly tell us he's been takin smack on Adonis? Why not show him actually disrespecting his family like Clubber Lang did? I felt like they wanted us to hate/fear Dame but never really gave him enough time for us to do either
As far as pacing totally spot on: Dame getting a title shot the way he did, someone would’ve investigated the circumstances around it, would’ve seen the connection between Dame and the guy who (spoilers), but also, had Dame been a background guy on the come up, then Donny recognized him/connected with him… would’ve liked to have seen Dame be a cross between who he is, Clubber Lang, and Tommy Gunn
I'm glad to hear it doesn't suck. I really am curious to see it, but was concerned about where the story may go and the actor-director thing. Complete side note, and I'm surprised I'm saying this, but this March could be a really good month for movies. So this is what I know is coming out in a month known for odd and suckage, in no particular order- Creed 3, a Guy Ritchie movie (I don't remember the name know), Scream 6, The Champions (Peter Farrelly, Woody Harelson), and Shazam 2. That's just the first 3 weekends. I'm expecting 1 or 2 misfires in that bunch, but it's been a while since I've had more than one movie screen the building that I cared about.
Forgot John Wick Chapter 4! And I believe the Guy Ritchie movie you are referring to is The Covenant, to be released April 4th I believe. It's a good year for movies so far, for me it starts with Creed III.
Saw it today and spent most of the movie on IG. Was pretty cringe and thought majors boxing was terrible. Dont know if this was part of his character or it was just him alone. I went home during the final fight scene and didn’t even bother. Think michael b should stick to acting not directing.

When Creed finally reached the top of the Hollywood Sign that scene really felt like a throwback to Rocky climbing the steps of Philadelphia! The Creed Series really has matured into it's own franchise and I can't wait to see what happens with Creed's Daughter in the next film. Maybe Sylvester Stallone will return for that film?!
Phenomenal performance by both Jonathan Majors and Michael B Jordan. Both were in top shape, looking saucy as hell. Movie pace was too fast but I thought it added to the excitement. There just wasn't enough space for Rocky. Rocky pumping creed to win the last fight is already plot of Creed 2. I am glad the direction this film took with Tessa, Creed's mom and daughter explored their relation with creed more. Seeing Avon Barksdale in a jersey with mexico flag was delightful moment.
The movie was mid. They had the chance to make a sympathetic antagonist but dropped the ball with that 1 one-fight scene where he aimed that shit at his opponent's arm. Not necessary. He could've fought fair and earned the title. Another chance was when in his apartment. You felt his pain when he was training and was down at his lowest. There could've been better character development with that. 5/10.

Creed III was great and Michael B. Jordan did amazing with his directing debut. The chemistry between the characters, all of them felt convincing. The love, the disappointment, the obligation, the ego during confrontation. It was a great experience, and what I’ve always loved about the Creed films. I’m excited to see where the series continues!

Had similar thoughts. The 1st half had some pacing issues for me but the test was nice 👍🏾. Love how some shots are filmed and the final fight was great. I could feel the impact of every punch
This movie was so amazing, leading up to it I kept saying that from the look of it it looks to be the best movie in the trilogy and it totally delivered on that, Michael B Jordan is once again amazing, at the start of this movie Adonis is now in a much different place than where we left off in Creed 2 and I thought it was really interesting, especially due to the overall plot at hand, and the same goes for Tessa Thompson and their daughter, particularly the daughter, given what they have going on watching the interactions between these 3 was really engaging, Jonathan Majors’ character is fantastic, when he first comes onscreen he gives off this really pleasant friendly vibe and as the movie goes on and you learn his true intentions he becomes super intimidating, and man, this movie is intense, when I was watching the fight scenes in this movie I was like “Dear god, this is horrifying” The fight scenes in this movie are beyond brutal, which mainly comes from Jonathan Majors’ character really having an axe to grind with Adonis, this dude is not messing around and you really feel it, add on top of that the tension that happens outside the ring and you have what I think is easily the most intense movie in the entire trilogy, it’s also one of those movies where it starts off being good and then there’s a certain point in it where something happens, makes you go “Oh shit” and from there the movie just grips you tightly and never lets go, and the main reason I’m really pleased to say that I loved Jonathan Major’s character is because it finally fixed a problem that I felt was present in both Creed 1 & 2, which is that for as great as those movies are both of them had very weak antagonists, in the first movie it was just some random guy and in Creed 2 although Ivan Drago was cool I thought his son was pretty bland, in both Creed 1 & 2 the antagonists just felt like guys for Adonis to punch and nothing more, but in this movie he was actually a deep, 3 dimensional character with an engaging story behind him which easily makes him the best antagonist of the franchise, and there’s also a stylistic choice that they incorporated into the finale of this movie that I really liked, and surprisingly even though Rocky isn’t in this movie I didn’t feel his absence at all, a lot of people were questioning whether or not this movie could work without him and I think it did, I guess my only issue is that the flashback of Adonis and Damien’s childhood and what happened between them is cut up and spread throughout the movie and I wish they didn’t do that, I personally have never really been a fan of the storytelling technique of having a flashback and being like “We’re just gonna give you a little bit here and we’ll come back to it later” I wish they just told the whole thing to us all at once, all in all I thought this movie was fantastic, I was wondering if this movie would be able to live up to just how amazing it looked and it did, Michael B Jordan and Jonathan Majors were amazing, the tension in this movie was absolutely white knuckling and for being his directorial debut I think Michael B Jordan knocked it out of the park with this movie because I think it’s the best movie in the franchise. 10/10

I do feel that the training montages and fights in the Rocky movies, to be much more inspiring, motivational, exciting and exhilarating than the Creed movies.

Not on the level of the first two films but it will be hard for any movie to top this as my favorite of the year. The final fight is probably the best in the Rocky franchise, never was i so invested. I like anime and i practice boxing since i was 19 (i'm 36) and i can apreciate it since this is a movie, the "punch" tribute to Ashita no Joe and Dragon Ball was amazing.
My only negatives is the music, which was the weakest from any Rocky movie and the training sequence.
I also thought that they cut 15 minutes of the movie, but it was awesome anyway. If The Flash, Indy 5 and John Wick 4 don't deliver as much, this is gonna be my favorite movie of 2023.
You know, I agree with the point about the music. It needed a bit more majestic to go with raw. But it seems like MBJ wanted to take some creative chances with the movie, and I can appreciate that.

I thought it was meh... Wasn't bad but didn't give me that Rocky feeling. The pacing was kinda all over the place. The final act needed to be fleshed out more. Give me a good reason to hate Dame. They had Stephen A Smith quickly tell us he's been takin smack on Adonis? Why not show him actually disrespecting his family like Clubber Lang did? I felt like they wanted us to hate/fear Dame but never really gave him enough time for us to do either
As far as pacing totally spot on: Dame getting a title shot the way he did, someone would’ve investigated the circumstances around it, would’ve seen the connection between Dame and the guy who (spoilers), but also, had Dame been a background guy on the come up, then Donny recognized him/connected with him… would’ve liked to have seen Dame be a cross between who he is, Clubber Lang, and Tommy Gunn

Complete side note, and I'm surprised I'm saying this, but this March could be a really good month for movies.
So this is what I know is coming out in a month known for odd and suckage, in no particular order- Creed 3, a Guy Ritchie movie (I don't remember the name know), Scream 6, The Champions (Peter Farrelly, Woody Harelson), and Shazam 2. That's just the first 3 weekends.
I'm expecting 1 or 2 misfires in that bunch, but it's been a while since I've had more than one movie screen the building that I cared about.
Forgot John Wick Chapter 4! And I believe the Guy Ritchie movie you are referring to is The Covenant, to be released April 4th I believe. It's a good year for movies so far, for me it starts with Creed III.
After another sequel, maybe they should try something new like a prequel, in-between-quel or spin-off. Amazing stuff 10/10

Saw it today and spent most of the movie on IG. Was pretty cringe and thought majors boxing was terrible. Dont know if this was part of his character or it was just him alone. I went home during the final fight scene and didn’t even bother. Think michael b should stick to acting not directing.

When Creed finally reached the top of the Hollywood Sign that scene really felt like a throwback to Rocky climbing the steps of Philadelphia! The Creed Series really has matured into it's own franchise and I can't wait to see what happens with Creed's Daughter in the next film. Maybe Sylvester Stallone will return for that film?!

Phenomenal performance by both Jonathan Majors and Michael B Jordan. Both were in top shape, looking saucy as hell. Movie pace was too fast but I thought it added to the excitement. There just wasn't enough space for Rocky. Rocky pumping creed to win the last fight is already plot of Creed 2. I am glad the direction this film took with Tessa, Creed's mom and daughter explored their relation with creed more. Seeing Avon Barksdale in a jersey with mexico flag was delightful moment.
Wow, I had no idea MBJ directed and co-produced this movie. Pretty impressive. Really following in Sly's footsteps.
The movie was mid. They had the chance to make a sympathetic antagonist but dropped the ball with that 1 one-fight scene where he aimed that shit at his opponent's arm. Not necessary. He could've fought fair and earned the title.
Another chance was when in his apartment. You felt his pain when he was training and was down at his lowest. There could've been better character development with that. 5/10.
