    Roddy still looks like he could walk Lassie home. By this stage he still looked like the child actor that he once was. Sadly, he is no longer with us passing at age 70 in 1998.

      @@gingerbaker4390 Yes, google him. He had a very interesting life. From England and came here before WW II. Became a big child star in Hollywood and then as an adult became a supporting actor in a lot of big movies. BFF’s with Elizabeth Taylor.

      He was a very nice man from all accounts that I have read. He left Carol Burnett something in his will...I think it was a piece of furniture...

    I have loved Elizabeth Ashley ever since seeing her in "When Michael Calls" and "A Fire in the Sky". And Roddy McDowall is adorable and good in a Night Gallery episode.

    It's weird seeing Roddy coughing so much since he ultimately died of lung cancer; I guess he was a smoker.

    Sometimes when Allen jumps out and says loudly "roughly a form of the word!!" it scares me; I know it had to when he was live right in the contestants' faces...

    If I were giving the clues for loafer I'd hope my opponent would say 👞 so that I could follow up with penny. I like how Roddy followed up with child after the clue angry. I 💘 how it can also help your opponent if your partner can't come up with the answer after a great clue

    Some words are just second clue words.
    The later shows with the option to pass, makes and better game. plus all the other changes. This is a really good "TV time" for kids, to play with their parents.

      Clueless what 'Vecuvius" was . Total embarrassment in the lightning round. Like a trooper though, as soon as the round ended, she wasted no time getting off camera.

    I'm not sure, but I think they may have had Glad bags (sandwich, trash etc.) back then - I do remember seeing early commercials with glad sandwich bags when I was a kid. So I'm wondering if "Bags" could have worked as a clue for "Glad" - maybe a long shot, but…

    Allen Ludden is not being sexist or chauvinistic in not asking what a woman does for a living. At that time most women were either married or if they did have a job, many quit their jobs after marriage. Yes, it might have been nice to ask every woman what they did for a living but the audience might have become quite bored with hardly hearing that a single woman had a job or a married woman had an additional job either inside or outside the home. Or the audience might have wondered, "why is the host even asking that question?".
