Thank you for posting this series, it has been very enjoyable watching you cut on the fly as it were as it explains the nuances of the process much more clearly than following a series of instructions from a cutting diagram.

Wow. I use lava soap on my plated laps but haven't considered trying it on my Batt lap to clean it. That's nice information to know!!

Does speed make a difference ? The reason I’m asking is I made my own faceting machine and it’s one speed. I’m just starting out to learn how to cut gem 💎 stones. All my life I’ve had interest in rocks. So far I’ve learned a lot from watching your videos. Thanks 🙏

Hey Steve, in his video you demonstrated how you go around the stone cutting the crown facets and you don't adjust the mast height to accomodate for the difference of the width of the stone (around the circumference) when using the 600 lightening lap and you still manage to get an even line around the stone. My question is., how is this possible?, if the difference in stone width generally equates to different angle facets if the mast is not adjusted up or down as necessary to accomodate for this difference, which in turn will equate to facet lines not lining up ??
Thank you in advance for your reply.
    Kind Regards
    Paul

The motor hum of your machine is unacceptable. Get a quiet motor.
