As a parent affected with addiction i am encouraged that my son will be OK.....gone through 2 rehabs...it's draining emotionally, physically, spiritually and also financially. From this testimony, I believe my son will be next on this show to testify. I am encouraged. Thank you Lynn for this interview and thank you for both mother and daughter for coming out...for not allowing stigma to hold them back to bring hope to others.

When your child doesn't 'meet expectations,' parents often carry a deep, private sense of failure. You feel intense guilt and blame yourself, thinking you have not raised your child well enough to 'meet expectations' or better still 'exceed expectations.'
I met Dora's mom briefly when Dora was not meeting expectations at all and struggling in a relapse. I asked her if she sleeps at night and where she finds the strength to wake up and continue with her life and ministry, knowing her child was somewhere in a "mashimoni" in grave danger. She told me the hardest thing she had to do was surrender completely to God, pray and trust that her daughter would eventually come home.

Very well said parents will judge and blame themselves when a child makes wayward decisions. Society's judgment is even harsher. I applaud this mum who held on to God and we thank God for this testimony. May God change many more to Himself and encourage many more parents out there.

My son passed away at the age of 21,he was not even to much in drug,when they did postmortem they said it was fentanyl in 2022,I couldn't believe Because we always believe either it was his fast time or he was lied too. What can anybody tell a mother like me?.
Am also happy for this girl not all people are given second chance,My son didn't get one, drugs kill if you listened to her it's time to say no to drugs and come out of it.He was in college and planning to go back to church that Sunday,he had served as frontier to community kids teaching about Jesus and played drums in the church.
I still thank God for the years God give me with him.Pls young people drugs is a moster eating silently our generation it's time to say no and run to Jesus for solution.

One moral lesson from Dora’s life is that with God we are a work in progress, being brought to perfection and sanctification by God. It is unfair to expect that one bounces back from struggle without stumbling here and there, but God holds our hands through the slips and the near-falls to bring us to a stable higher ground.

There's no pain like watching a family member , a friend, or even somebody you do not know fight addiction . Ahhh, man, it is very painful. I hope everyone fighting addiction will have tge chance to watch this. You know, I remember seeing Jesus girl on Instagram and how she would share her story, and I would have hope that someone I knew would come out of addiction ( a cousin of mine ) I still do even now. Coming here and sharing where she is coming from is testimony that addiction can be overcome and even better when God is in the journey it is even more victorious.

I think i was worse 😕 but here i am alcohol free and zero cravings. Our God is able as much as salvation is not easy.........i could take alcohol through my ears and nostrils
I wish you could meet my best friend and talk to him 💔💔💔💔 He's almost loosing his job( he's a very senior person in the military) he just came from a rehab with zero challenges.

I completely relate, especially that part of being so finished with life, you end up looking old. I was so tired as well. Wasn't living in this world, was not living in the next one. Just living to get my cravings met. So painful. We do recover. My healing has also been systematic and it's taking so much time. I get so frustrated,but I'm not where I was Praise God

Thank you Dora for such a powerful testimony, I worked with your mum at Life in Abundance and she's a true example of a Servant Leader. Your story resonates with my current situation because God has placed at place where I'm serving people going through drugs addiction. I witness drug overdose leading to death almost every week. I wish there was something similar to teens challenge in Canada. The best I can do for now is pray believing that God will set the captives free...

I confess that I worked with Dr. Obwaka. Down to earth guy. The Obwaka gene is powerful and one can say, all of you daughters were brought up well and purposeful. I affirm you, your mother and your siblings Dora.

I love the way she speaks about God with deep revelation and reverence. The she quotes the bible passionate, truly the word of God is too powerful and that's why the bible says in Psalm 138:2 ......He has exalted his word above His name. Truly it can only be God.

I’m so blessed by this episode. So many gems. Rebuilding is a process, a fall or relapse doesn’t mean the end of the road. Reminds me that you don’t stop praying when you sin, rather you continue praying to avoid falling into sin and defeat the enemy.
